I haven't killed a goblin yet.
Why would I? This is the perfect time to search for the kings diaries containing the past of this world. If I come across goblins, I will kill them. But I'm not searching.
As the word spread about the goblins, people began evacuating, something about killer goblins. Luckily, the party leaving me worked in my favor. I still haven't seen anything- wait no.
"Ahh!" The child screamed as he kicked a small goblin away. But the goblin was determined to catch the boy. Welp, better get to work.
I sideled behind the goblin, and drew my blade beside his neck. One movement and I could send his head rolling on the floor.
"..." The goblin slowly turned his head towards me. He then lunged, kicking me in the stomach before running away. I didn't even have time to attack, and I didn't even chase the goblin.
The kid didn't even say thank you and ran towards the crowd. Well, I don't care. I continued towards the biggest building, assuming it's where the head or the king resides.
I continued, until I spotted a goblin with muscles slamming a kid against the ground. The goblin was having fun, but the kids muscles and bones were breaking cracking, and his head was about to split open.
I sprinted towards the goblin and decided to give it an everlasting mark on its back. My sword struck deeper than I expected, so the goblin just died. I looked at the kid. He was dead.
"Hopefully you get reincarnated too buddy. " I said, empathetically. Now there wasn't much people left, an I finally reached the steps of the big building. I entered inside, checking every room, every spot, until I sensed something.
Not a sound, exactly, or a smell. More like a hunch.
I jumped up the stairs that went round and round. I finally came to a landing, but I didn't stop there. I trotted over to a door and opened it. A dusty-magical smell hit my nose first, and then I noticed that the room was simple. A bedroom with a wooden desk and chair.
But there was a book and a feathered pen and ink. Intresting.
I closed the door and sat in the wooden chair. I opened the book and read the first entry:
Today is finally the day I become the head of the village! Now my father will teach me about the history of the world and that ten year war everyone cares so much about. I'm forced to write this for some reason, so yeah. Peace!
I was about to turn the page when I heard muffled sounds outside the door. Thinking fast, I slipped under the bed just as the door opened to reveal the party I hated. They looked into the book and opened it to a certain page.
The tank sat on the bed, his crushing weight affecting me.
"Shh.. someone will hear us!" The Knight said, putting his index finger to his mouth.
I could even feel the giant man grunt.
"I found it." The Archer said, pointing to a page. The Knight walked over, I can't be sure, but he flashed some yellow teeth.
The took the book and left the room. Now what? I finally crawled out under the bed.
"Aw man! So close too!" I said, feeling sorry for myself. But I at least had the reward of a lot of gold. I listened as the steps of the party grew fainter, until I couldn't hear them at all. Then I opened the door, and descended down.
I jumped out of the building, now eager to find more goblins quickly. Yez, another one.
There was a built goblin strolling through like he lived in the place. I decided to kill him by smacking the hilt of my sword against his skull. If he woke up, he would have a really bad headache, but at least he would wake up.
I continued slaying goblins until a screen appeared in front of me.
[Unlocked titles! Gained the title, Goblin slayer!]
I would need to check my status once I'm back in my dungeon. But this wasn't the main message.
[The goddess of Ethereal has taken a liking to you. ]
There is a goddess of Ethereal? Cool. But what did this mean?
[Unlocked: blessings. The goddess of Ethereal will be watching your every move]
The pressure was on now, huh? Why all of a sudden now, though? Have I met this goddess before? Is this a old message? So much questions, yet no answer.
Like I said at the start of this journey:
Well, whatever.
