Its An Alternative Universe. and we have not even reached canon yet.

- Why those wishes?:

Because I wanted a Strong enough Mc to not be a bitch, but at the same time where he need to work to achieve his goal: Defeat Magic Ice Hitler

- Ki for real?

Its not Ki, Chi Or Qi or what ever you call it, its a different kind of energy with a similar concept as "the force" Its everywhere and once it becomes part of you you can use It .I did not explained it much yet, but basically its a versatile like energy that can get absorbed from the environment and it reflects one's soul when manifested. you can improve your reserves if you basically "cultivate". it is still a kind of magic, like shadow binding, warlocks, shape shifters necromancers etc. MC just calls it Ki because you can use it as Ki and its easier to remember than calling it "world energy" or some other crap. Instead of being like blood sacrifice magic its more like Warging or greensight, it taxes one's body and soul if overused instead of needing a blood sacrifice. although Im positive there are ways to sacrifice people to increase one's power with this sorcery, Mc and Rahako do not know how to so they have to do it the old fashion way.

- Why stay for near 9 years in khalasar?:

He had little to no coin for himself, while living without money might work in a khalasar it does not work outside, he spent all those years stealing and trying to hoard as much wealth as he could before faking his death. Why? his bio-father does not like him and him walking away means bad news.

- Why help/trust Rahako (or anyone else) in this cutthroat world:

Mc has SSserum and ""KI"" so to speak that gives him super senses and he can tell if someone is not being genuine with him, yes it might seem naive, but after a few chapters he will realize that this a very heavy Alternative Universe and he will try to look for allies. for ""KI"" as an example was never presented in Canon, and magic seems to be Busted in this Universe.
