CHAPTER START---

Walking through the forest, Jin hears the sound of a waterfall nearby. Following the stream and the familiar chakra signature for a few more minutes he is greeted by the sight of Naruto and Jiraiya sitting with a scroll between them.

'Hmm, do I get to meet Gamabunta?' He thinks as a small smirk appears on his face.

"Yo!" he casually greets them.

"JIN?!" Naruto asks, completely confused as to why his friend is here.

"Oh you finally show up huh"

"Sorry about arriving late, would you believe I had lady troubles? hehe" Jin joked.

"Not in a million years kid, get over here." as Jin sits with his legs folded looking at the scroll Jiraiya begins to explain.

"When you sign your name and chakra onto this scroll it completes the summoning contract. I'll show you the summoning Jutsu Naruto, you can practice while Jin and I work on something else"

"Don't I get some awesome frogs too?" Jin quickly asks.

"Mmm, the sages are very particular about who gets to sign kid sorry, you're about to meet pa so if you convince him then sure, I'll teach you the summoning jutsu if you get on his good graces."

"Hm alright, I already have one summon actually, but its... special," Jin says while tapping his blindfold.

"Ahhh, I see. Don't suppose I could see it?" Jiraiya, his curiosity piqued.

"Uh, it's about the size of... -----" Jin says, mumbling the last part.

"What was that last part?"

"Manda..."

"Uh-huh, alright then let's... not summon that in the village then. Alright, Naruto let me show you how it's done."

"SUMMONING JUTSU!"

Biting his thumb Jiraiya slams his hand into the ground.

*POOF*

Suddenly in the spot the seals appeared, a small grey-haired frog with a little coat appeared.

"Jiraiya boy what's the deal bringing me here, Ma won't like this" The small frog says clearly annoyed.

"Sorry Master Fukasaku, this is important I promise." Jiraiya pleads, "Alright Naruto I want you to do the same thing, just keep practicing and I'll be right back, master Fukasaku and I need to have a chat with Jin," he says before turning to Jin.

"Uh... Hi," Jin awkwardly says.

"Head over to the stream and practice Naruto we'll be back in a minute," Jiraiya says as he leads the pair toward the treeline.

"So what's the meaning of this Jiraiya" Fukasaku asked.

*SENSORY TOAD BARRIER*

Making multiple hand seal Jiraiya claps his hands together and a wave of chakra surrounds them.

"Uh, should I be worried?" Jin asks, ready to demolish the forest if necessary.

"Settle down kid it's so nobody can spy on us, look. HEY NARUTO!" As Jiraiya yells Naruto doesn't even notice.

"Wow, that's cool."

"Master Fukasaku, Jin here would like to learn about senjutsu, he's a special case so maybe you should hear him out." Jiraiya pleads.

Immediately the little frog comically jumps up and slams Jiraiya's face into the ground.

"You aren't supposed to just go around offering to teach that to random children boy!"

"Hey, you wanna help me out here kid?" Jiraiya says with his face held down to the floor.

"Uh... sure." Taking off his blindfold Fukasaku immediately freezes when he sees the Rinnegan.

"The eyes of the six paths, where did you find this boy Jiraiya?"

"I didn't find him, he sensed my senjutsu after he got a taste of it from Orochimaru and found me before it faded from his system."

"Incredible..." Fukasaku says while pulling Jin's face down to his level almost at the floor to get a closer look at his eyes. "But why do you want to learn from us, a power-hungry sage is no good for the world."

Understanding his meaning of 'If I'm power-hungry he will come after me huh' Jin decides to tell the truth, "I've seen what's going to happen to an extent, there's another Rinnegan user out there that wants to cause chaos and war. We're going to clash, I have to be ready since he seems to be much stronger than me. Anything that you're willing to teach me can help. Please" Jin says while prostrating himself on the floor before the toad.

"Hmmm, a prophecy huh. Jiraiya, have you looked into the boy?" Fukasaku asks.

"Sensei thinks highly of his will to defend Konoha, he's talented and works hard---" Jiraiya is interrupted.

"If I lose everyone dies soo..."

"Mhm, look kid, you've been beyond genin for a while but well. We suspect you know about a certain village secret..."

"Yeah.. but he's my friend so I'll kill anyone that tries to hurt him," Jin says with furrowed brows.

"Hm, well what do you think Pa?" Jiraiya asks.

"If what he's saying is true we can't afford not to show him. Alright, have him sign the scroll."

Dropping the barrier after Jin puts his blindfold back on, Jiraiya strolls back over to Naruto and leaves Jin and Fukasaku behind for a moment.

"How much do the sage creatures know about the Rinnegan?" he quietly asks the toad.

"The sage used it to create the tailed beasts, that's all anyone really knows about it. I'm hoping you will be able to tell us more." Fukasaku admitted.

"I understand what the abilities do, the PATHS of power it grants, I'm able to use them all but, the costs are great. Some of them cost more than only MY life if you understand. My enemy may not abide by that limit which is why I need every advantage I can get. I hope you understand that."

"I admire your ability to have self-restraint while gifted with such power."

"I, unfortunately, won't be able to tell you much more, Rinnegan allows me to acquire information no matter how well guarded a person keeps it. I can't afford to have anyone weaker than Jiraiya find out and I won't risk your life like that, I hope you understand" Jin says in a solemn tone, speaking only the truth to the toad sage.

"Admirable reasons child."

"Alright I've got it, now just come sign and your training can get started," Jiraiya says as he opens the scroll.

"So do I summon a specific person or..." Jin asks as he signs his name on the contract.

"It depends on your chakra, I recommend always using the same few to build a bond, trust is essential in combat," Jiraiya says in an attempt at appearing wise.

"Alright"

*CLAP*

"Huh?" Jiraiya says, completely confused.

'Summoning Jutsu'

*POOF*

*BOOM*

Suddenly a large crash is heard throughout the forest as a massive toad appears. Quickly getting their bearings Jiraiya and Fukasaku realize they are no standing on a toad.

"GAMABUNTA!" Jiraiya yells in surprise.

"Huh, WHO THE HELL SUMMONED ME?!" The massive toad yells out further shaking up the forest.

"Settle down Gamabunta" Fukasauk quickly says, silencing the massive toad.

"Oh, pops. What're you doing here."

"I'm here to pick up my new student. You can head back and tell Ma I'm coming soon"

"Alright"

*POOF*

As Gamabunta suddenly disappears the trio finds themselves falling toward the ground. Reaching out Jin grabs onto the toad and Jiraiya before using the Deva Path to slow his fall.

"Interesting ability kid, that one from the, ya know?" Jiraiya asks trying to be cryptic.

"Yeah, been working on it"

"WHAT WAS THAT MASSIVE FROG!" Naruto suddenly yells as he climbs up the side of the waterfall.

"Your friend here just summoned Gamabunta, with some practice you're gonna be able to someday" Jiraiya teases the blonde boy.

"I'M GONNA SUMMON A BIGGER ONE, BELIEVE IT!"

"There isn't a bigger one brat," Jiraiya says immediately deflating Naruto.

"Well boy we should get out of here to start our own training and let Jiraiya boy tend to his student"

"Yeah, hey should I grab anything because I kind of didn't pa---"

'Reverse Summoning Jutsu'

Fukasaku immediately slammed his palm onto a scroll cutting Jin off.

"ack anything like clothes...." Looking around Jin was amazed by the massive trees and strange plants surrounding him in what looked like the most amazing garden he has ever seen. "Holy shit, is this in the same world?"

"Of course it is, places like this are hidden, even if you knew the way it would take you a month ATLEAST on foot assuming you survive the trip. Let's go see Ma before we start, you've got to get back before your exams continue." Fukasaku says before leaping onto Jin's shoulder. "Head down there," He points at a lake downstream.

Making their way down to the lake they arrive at a small hut and enter.

"MA WE'RE HERE!" Fukasaku yells almost deafening Jin.

"Ahh! My ear!"

"WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU B.... who's the kid? I'm too old to be raising kids again!" Shima yells.

"He's here to learn sage mode Ma,"

"Whaddya mean learn sage mode, he's still in damn diapers!" She argues

"Boy, show her!" Pa says.

"Uh, sure," Jin says as he removes his blindfold.

"Well, I'll be, where did you find this kid Pa?"

"I didn't, Jiraiya boy did. I'm gonna be teaching him for around a month. If you need us we'll be at the Toad Oil Fountain Ma" Fukasaku says as he hops off Jin's shoulder, "C'mon boy watcha standing around staring for."

"Uh, right"

After they arrived at the fountain and Pa explained the basics of entering sage mode Jin took a moment to gather his thoughts.

'Damn, even if I was to bitch out now my secret is already out. Might as well get something for it. No risk no profit right.'

*POOF*

Suddenly 20 clones appeared around Jin all with their legs folded and fists placed together as if meditating.

"Pa, I'm gonna try to speed up the process if that's ok."

"If even one of these clones takes in too much you'll be turned to stone boy!"

"It's ok. I'm gonna be intentionally taking it slow, I feel like I've got time. And that way I can get used to feeling the chakra and control it better. It's safer than rushing in for power that way."

"Huh, most people just want to get it over with, smart boy. Alright, I'll put the oil on you and we can begin."

As Jin sat down around the fountain with 20 clones, 15 of them immediately popped.

"I can't focus with that much clutter on my senses, this is easier."

"Alright, now remember not to move, and take it slow." Fukasaku began to sprinkle the oil onto Jin to begin his training.

---5 Hours later...

'I can feel it, it's weak but there. That's it just take it slow. Chakra hypersensitivity means if I don't take it slow I'll definitely take in too much'

"AHH!" Jin suddenly cries out as Fukasaku smacks his head with a small club.

"What the hell Pa?"

"You took in too much boy, you've got a toad wart on your nose already."

"But, I barely felt anything. That doesn't make any sense."

"Nature energy is harder to sense even inside your own body until you master it, that's why this is so dangerous. And the amount you took is already enough to turn dozens of humans into statues if not for your massive chakra supply. Stop comparing it to how your normal chakra feels and start focusing on it by itself and go by feel. You can't apply your human logic to nature."

"Hmmm, alright, go by feel."

'No wonder naruto was so good at this, he barely uses any logic' Jin thinks to himself as he closes his eyes once more.

---10 Days later...

"AHHHHHH!" Jin yells in frustration as he paces around the fountain area once more.

"Most people never ever get to feel the nature energy boy much less have this result."

"My damn chakra sensitivity is ruining everything right now!"

"It's not your fault that you were born with a gift."

"If every time I start to feel nature chakra it instantly fills me up then it's only a matter of time before I mess up and get turned to stone Pa, maybe this was a bad idea."

Laying on the floor Jin stares up and the ceiling wondering if there is another way to get powerful.

"No boy, this will make you an exceptional shinobi even among the sages. Your rinnegan lets you take in nature energy faster than any human I've ever seen. As long as you can control it then you can stand at the top. How long did it take you to control all the elemental natures perfectly?"

"I trained since I was four and got them down PERFECTLY when I was 8, 4 damn years. Ugh."

"No, self-taught you took 4 years to do what only a handful of shinobi have ever done in an entire lifetime, and you did it on your own by feel. Now you have a teacher and the wisdom of those who came before. You'll get this done. Just don't give up."

Sitting up and looking at the wise toad, a small smile formed on Jin's face.

"Don't tell my sensei this but, you're the first person to teach me something new since the academy, it feels really good not to have to figure things out myself for once."

Noticing the slightly sad look on Jin's face, the old frog just gave him a sad smile.

"That's the funny thing about sages. You can't become a sage alone. Now let's get back to training, you've got quite a journey ahead of you and I'll help you every step of the way."

"Yeah, thanks Pa."

For the first time since coming to this new world, Jin actually felt like he had a real mentor, someone he could be himself around fully, someone that could guide him. No longer did he feel like he was making up every step of his journey for himself.
