CHAPTER 20(Chunin Exam Preparations)

CHAPTER START---

"Three targets in the main building, one in the underground room," Hinata says as she looks at the enemy hideout with her Byakugan.

"Good work Hinata, you, Shino, and I will deal with the 3 in the main building, Jin will take the underground. Let's go." Kurenai says as they all rush toward the hideout.

Quickly making his way underground and dealing with his target Jin arrives at the main building to see Hinata and Shino fighting their targets as Kurenai observes.

"Aren't you going to help them, your guy is dead already," he questions his sensei

"I'm preparing all of you for the chunin exams in a few weeks, there is a gap between you and them, they need to fill that gap somehow." She plainly says.

"Mmm, that makes sense." He simply leans on the wall next to his sensei and observes the fight.

A not a minute later and their enemies lay dead on the floor, at least Shino's does. Hinata has paralyzed her foe. "Finish him Hinata" Kurenai commands.

"Sensei, he's already down" The young girl barely manages to squeak out.

"Leaving enemies at your back is how you get people killed Hinata" Jin quickly adds in.

"I-I..." The girl trips over her words as her kunai trembles.

Approaching the man Jin places his palm above the heart of the target and begins to apply pressure. As the sounds of bones cracking can be heard the man begins to scream in pain.

"AHHH!"

"He's suffering Hinata, would you rather watch him suffer?" Jin says as he locks his gaze with the girl.

"I, but---"

"ARGHH!"

*SPURT*

The blood flows onto the floor as her Kunai kills the man, freeing him from the suffering of having his chest slowly caved in. "Every person you give a quick death is one less that suffers at the hand of a monster out there, it's one less person that suffers at their hand, remember that," Jin says to the crying girl as he walks outside to loot the reaming building.

'He really can be a cold bastard sometimes, even to his friends' Kurenai thinks as she watches him walk away.

---2 Days later...

Team Kurenai can be seen leaving the Hokage's office once more. Since the mission in the land of waves began they have been relentlessly pursuing missions. Within these two weeks, they have completed nearly 10 search and destroy and tracking missions total.

"Alright everyone dinner on me tonight, we've got something to talk about," Kurenai says as she leaps through the rooftops of Konoha. As the sun sets they arrive at the familiar grill restaurant and enter.

Taking their seats, Jin has a fair idea of what she wants to discuss and is excited about the announcement.

"So, what's up sensei?" He asks, trying to contain his excitement.

Pulling out 3 sheets from her punch she places them before her students before explains.

"These are the application forms for the upcoming chunin exams in two weeks. I've recommended all of you but you have to enter as a team, so this has to be a full team decision. If you choose not to enter another one will be held in six months so no worries." Kurenai says as she looks carefully between her students.

To the surprise of absolutely no one, Jin immediately begins filling out his form without saying a word. Following his actions, his teammates begin to fill out their forms as well. As he finishes filling out his form he only looks up to ask Kurenai one question.

"How long do I have to prepare sensei?"

"Hm, you've got a week."

"Alright everyone let's get as strong as we can in this week, it's time to graduate to chunin," Jin says with a massive grin on his face.

'Finally a chance for some Kyubi and Senjutsu chakra, about damn time'

"I, I'm going to train with my father, I need to improve my taijutsu if I want to get promoted," Hinata quietly says.

"I'll do the same, our clan's techniques are difficult to understand to those on the outside, no offense sensei," Shino says with a small nod.

"It's fine, I expected this honestly, I can't teach you anything about your clan jutsu really. Is there anything you'd like to focus on Jin?"

"Actually there is sensei, how much do you know about making seals?" Jin asks in a mischievous tone.

---2 Days later, in the valley of the end...

Standing on the surface of the water, Jin and Kurenai can be seen. The woman appears to be holding a massive piece of fabric of some kind. Red in color and appearing to be larger than herself.

"I really don't see why you wanted to learn this. Putting a seal of sticking onto a giant ribbon doesn't make any sense."

"Trust me sensei, it will in a few seconds, remember image is very important if you want to be Hokage. Now hold on and try not to let the waves topple you alright."

"What are you gonna do J---"

*CLAP*

"Summoning Jutsu:Jörmungandr!"

*SPLASH*

Suddenly with a pulse of chakra, a massive snake appears in the lake sending waves slamming into the shore well into the treeline.

"MANDA!" Kurenai yells out.

"No no no this is Jörmungandr, this is the Kunigakure guardian."

"A massive white snake, it's as big as Manda, how did you summon it with no blood? How the hell did you get a contract with it?"

"Don't worry about that stuff sensei. Just take your end of the blindfold and cover his left eye, I'll get the right one" Jin says as he begins unfolding the fabric in Kurenai's hand"

"Is this really what you meant by image, your summons has to have a blindfold just like you, isn't that a bit egotistical. It won't be able to see as good."

"It'll be fine don't worry."

As they place the fabric onto the creature's massive head, the red cloth stands out on the white scales of the serpent, a Konohagakure symbol proudly displayed on the blindfold.

"SEAL!" Jin says as he activates the sticking seal, mentally commanding the eyes of the serpent open, his vision suddenly expands to the direction behind his back from a much higher perspective.

'Damn this is amazing, and no feedback problems since the receivers are buried in its brain, that explains why Nagato used puppets instead of clones so much' He thinks to himself as he desummons the creature.

As the air pocket caused by the sudden disappearance of the creature fills itself and the rocky surface of the lake settles Kurenai can't help but give her student a weary look.

"Are you gonna use that in the exam, doesn't that seem like a bit much to summon inside the village?"

"If it's between that and us dying, Jörmungandr comes out every time."

"Just, think carefully before you bring out a kaiju in the village alright,"

"Sure thing sensei, so wanna spar?" He asks with a small smirk on his face.

---4 Days later, Jin's home...

Sitting on the floor of the living room Naruto and Jin can be seen eating ramen as they catch up.

"Man this place is sweet Jin, way better than my place" Naruto admits to his friend.

"I told you I have a second bedroom ready for whenever you want to move in,"

"Nah I'll be fine, besides when I'm an awesome ninja I can just get my own place."

"Jeez Naruto I'm trying to be nice here, but anyway how are you guys feeling about the exam tomorrow. You need any extra help, my team is always there if you need us you know."

"Well Kakashi sensei has been training us a bit harder since we got back from the land of waves, and he even taught Sasuke one of his moves, the super loud one"

'He thought Sasuke Chidori already, that's weird, I guess I did force him to get stronger faster to try and catch up, heh, try.'

"What about you naruto?"

"I've been getting way better at using my clones so far and focusing on Taijutsu, next time we fight you'll see"

"Hm, I'll be waiting, but you aren't the only team that's been training really hard you know. You'll be pretty surprised when I bring out my trump card in the exam, if I even have to use it that is. I did take down all of Kunigakure after all hahahhaaha" Jin breaks into a small fit of laughter as he imagines what damage his full strength can do in the exams.

"I still can't believe you did that!"

"Hey the halves of the exam have a month-long intermission, let's have a nice spar between them and I'll show you how much I've grown, oh and one more thing, please don't draw attention to yourself during the exam Naruto" Jin pleaded with his friend.

"I never draw attention to myself!"

"Right, of course..." With a defeated sigh, Jin catches up with Naruto before preparing his gear for the trials ahead of him.
