She sacrificed her youth to train to become a well-rounded performer, gave up university and the boy she liked to focus on her acting career and let her parents use her innocence to get ahead. But after Zhang Lian uncovers a conspiracy surrounding her identity, her beloved mother takes her life before she can delve deeper into the Zhang family's secrets. However, she wakes up as a 12-year-old once more, a year before she is adopted. Given another chance, she will break free of the cage her adoptive mother had trapped her in, forge her own path in the entertainment industry and find a new family who will show her the meaning of genuine and selfless love. + Trigger warning: dark themes such as rape, discussions of rape culture, abuse of minors, suicide, eating disorders and torture. Don't go away, please! As this is focused on the entertainment industry, the story will dive deep into the bowels of it, uncovering all the dirty dealings we only hear about in the news. I found that many stories often brush off rape and abuse in the entertainment industry as par for the course, but this novel won't and will probably make you feel uncomfortable at some point. This story isn't romance-focused in a way that 500+ chapters will just be about establishing their relationship. I wanted a relationship where the two are real and equal partners who help each other grow and learn from their mistakes, rather than one being too powerful and always helping the other one. Thus, the romance is always there and established right from the start, but it won't be the only driving force that fuels our female protagonist or even our male lead. I'm just an amateur trying my hand at writing for the first time, but I hope you like the characters I will be introducing.
