Chapter 10: The Apocalpse begun

"Welcome to the Class Spin Wheel!" a synthesized voice announced, echoing through the room.

"This wheel will determine your class assignments. Spin the wheel to find out your class and its specific characteristics. The wheel includes various classes, each with its own unique abilities and requirements."

The students watched eagerly as the red hologram wheel continued to spin. Their reactions were a mix of excitement and anxiety, and the room buzzed with anticipation.

"This is it!" one student exclaimed, practically bouncing on the spot. "We're finally getting our classes!"

"I hope I get something cool," another student said with a grin. "Maybe a mage or a warrior!"

"I heard the rare classes are awesome," someone else added, their eyes shining with hope.

The energy in the cafeteria was electric. Students were chatting animatedly about the classes they wanted and speculating about what they might get.

Caius, still standing near the exit, muttered under his breath, "Why did it have to be so loud? My eardrums are still ringing."

He glanced around at the other students, who were all eagerly stepping up to the wheel. Everyone seemed to be filled with excitement and nervous energy, and there was no hesitation as they took turns spinning the wheel.

"Looks like everyone's diving in," Caius said to himself. "Maybe I should check out the other options."

He walked over to a nearby display that showed various class icons with percentages next to them. The icons represented different types of classes—like warriors, mages, healers, and more—along with the chances of getting each type.

Caius studied the display, trying to understand the probabilities and the details of each class. He scrolled through the list of classes on the display, carefully noting the percentages for each one:

Warrior: 80%

Mage: 1%

Fire Mage: 2%

Water Mage: 1%

Earth Mage: 1%

Air Mage: 1%

Healer: 10%

Elemental Fighter: 3%

Mana Manipulator: 2%

etc...

The percentages were clear: Warrior had the highest chance at 80%, while specific elemental mages like Fire Mage, Water Mage, and others had very low chances, each around 1% or 2%. Elemental-based classes overall had a low percentage, and Mana Manipulator also had a minimal chance.

He saw the low percentages for elemental and mana-based classes. The Warrior class or more on Physical was clearly the most common, but the specific classes he was interested in were much less likely to be chosen.

As he reached the end of the list, his eyes widened. The display showed a list of monster classes, all with 100% chance:

Zombie (Common): 100%

Mid-Level Zombie: 100%

High-Level Zombie: 100%

Mutant Zombie: 100%

Demi-Human: 100%

Ogre: 100%

Goblin: 100%

Troll: 100%

ETC...

The description under the list read: "These classes are the most common and are likely what most will receive. Good luck Earthlings!"

Caius's heart sank as he realized that almost all of the options were monster types, with each one having a 100% chance of being selected.

He turned to the crowd, shouting desperately, "Stop! Don't spin! It's a trap!"

But it was too late. The Spin wheel was already over.

[ATTENTION! THE 30-SECOND TIMER FOR THE CLASS SPIN WHEEL IS NOW OVER. THE SPINNING PROCESS HAS CONCLUDED AND NO FURTHER SPINS WILL BE ACCEPTED.] The announcement blared in bold red letters, echoing across the training ground.

The hologram updated to show the results. The screen displayed.

[STATUS NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR MONSTER CLASSES.]

A majority of the students had received zombie-related classes, with 80% being assigned.

As the results of the Class Spin Wheel were revealed, chaos erupted among the students. Those who had received monster classes, particularly the zombie types, began to undergo disturbing transformations. Some students groaned in pain as their bodies changed, while others quickly lost control and started attacking their classmates.

The students who had been assigned non-monster classes looked on in terror. Screams filled the air as the newly transformed zombies lunged at anyone nearby, their once-familiar faces now twisted into grotesque, undead visages.

"Help! Somebody help us!" a student cried out, trying to fend off a zombie with a makeshift weapon.

Panic spread like wildfire, and those who hadn't received zombie classes scrambled to avoid being bitten or attacked. Some students ran for the exits, but the security measures around the training center prevented anyone from escaping.

Amidst the chaos, Caius noticed Mia standing by the side, her face pale and eyes wide with fear. She seemed untouched by the monster class results and wasn't being attacked by the zombies.Caius don't know why but he had this feeling to help her.

Ignoring the chaos around him, Caius pushed through the crowd, dodging lunging zombies and broken furnitures. He made his way to Mia, who was standing frozen, her back against a wall.

"Mia!" Caius shouted over the din. "We need to get out of here! Find somewhere safe!"

Mia looked at him, her eyes still filled with shock. "I— I don't know what to do!"

Caius grabbed her arm, pulling her away from the wall. "Come on, follow me! We'll find a way out!"

As they moved through the chaos, Caius could hear the shouts and cries of the other students. He glanced back to see zombies attacking anyone they could catch. The facility's alarms blared, but the sound was barely audible over the screaming and the growls of the transformed students.

Finally, Caius and Mia found a small, relatively secure room that hadn't been overrun. Caius shut the door behind them and took a deep breath. He glanced at Mia, who was still trembling.

"Are you alright?" Caius asked, trying to calm her down.

Mia nodded shakily. "I'm okay, just scared. What's going to happen now?"

Caius looked out the small window in the room, his mind racing. "We need to figure out how to survive this and get some help. But first, let's stay hidden until we can figure out a plan."

Outside, the sounds of the chaos continued, but Caius and Mia were safe, at least for now. Caius tried to keep his mind focused on finding a way out, but the stress was beginning to weigh heavily on him. He was about to suggest a plan when a sudden notification pinged in his mind, catching him off guard.

A translucent message appeared before him, glowing softly in the dim light of the room.
