Awake and Adapted

Mo Yan knew his head could fly off any moment and the only way to survive is prepare a way out. He curses and throws everything after the prime minister takes his leave. He couldn't even pin point what went wrong nor could he prepare a way out.

He was well aware that at this point no amount of sugar coating could make Nanling compromise. Placing two of the large armies with gleaming weapons the reparation won't be measly. He calms down and starts to think of a way or something that would create a path to deflect this crisis.

As Mo Yan was left to rack his brain prime minister was anxiously pacing infront of emperors bed chamber. Finally after what felt like forever he is informed of emperors awakening and demanding his presence.

Shiyou was much stable after being treated he was advised as not to let anger overtake him for his body would suffer more and even leave ailments in future. He asks the minister to sit beside the chair near his bed. Placing his hand on his forehead with a tired voice he speaks "what is the current situation?."

Prime minister explains all the situation without leaving a thing behind. He knew everything he said was not less than pouring hot oil in emperors ear but he dare not sugar coat the present crisis. He sits upright waiting for emperor to decide and instruct.

Shiyou at this moment was very bitter, his innermost desire was to take his sword and kill all the voice against him then take charge of his army to battle Nanling. Despite his desires he was not foolish though he had lost his martial strength and ability to father a child he was still intelligent and knew the seriousness of matter. His entire nation was at stake waiting to be either torched or liberated by his simple action.

He was also well aware that it wasn't mo yans fault rather they had a traitor who managed to turn the table for Nanling. Taking a long moment he finally replies with his deep and hoarse voice "send a letter to Nanling that Zhen agree to the meeting...subtly hint them that we didn't have hand on this matter and it was all done by rebellious general Tao...

Announce in public that General Tao had always been bitter from past loss and hence acted on his own...Zhen is a peace lover and will do anything to and pay any price to maintain the peace... it should calm them down..as for the consuls they better know what should be said if they want to live for few more years...

Send for Mo Yan as only he has the ability to take us out from this predicament...inform all the consuls to remain in the hall till Zhen finishes discussing with mo Yan...they dare threaten Zhen with fastening and kneeling so have them starved and on their knees till we come to a decision.."

Prime minister feels relief upon the emperors calm composure and adaptability. He nods and leaves after requesting to look out for his health. Outside he immediately orders the guard to relay the message to the public while he himself heads toward the hall to handle the consuls.

Mo Yan enters the chamber and faces his old time friend with guilty face. Shiyou smiles and pats his bedside for him to sit. Mo Yan feels more guilty after seeing his friend smiling and before he could ask for forgiveness hears his voice "Mo Yan...I know what you feel...but I don't blame you...I am well aware of your nature and feelings...we have been together since young age...not only did we shared our childhood together...we also shared our dreams and aspirations..

I know just like me how you can't wait for that scum to die...rather than clinging to the past we now have to prepare for future...it pains my heart and blood boils from rage to learn that scum is alive yet the situation is against us...our own people are against us...like the frog in deep well they cannot see our grand vision...

Let them be...for we have more pressing matters to attend...with that scum breathing...their demands won't be any less...but as long as we persist to put the blame on the deceased General Tao no matter their testimonies and me appearing humble and genuine war can be avoided...

I have already ordered to send the letter to Nanling and message to calm our public...the troubling matter is the unknown demands that Nanling has prepared for us...thankfully we hadn't let General su leave huajin or we won't have any excuse to use... tell me what do you think Pei Jin would possibly demand.."
