"Young Miss, you didn't inform about your early return." Susan, who saw Eveline enter the house, accelerated to her side.
Eveline smiled slightly. "I thought about surprising Aunt Susan," she remarked, looking around.
"Where is dad?" she asked.
"He's in his study room, busy with some meetings," Susan replied.
"Should I inform him?" she inquired.
Eveline declined right away, stunning Susan with her swift response.
"Do not bother. I'll see him soon; he's finished with his work," she added, turning to go to her room.
Susan was astonished to see Eveline so bland that she questioned if the vacation wasn't thrilling enough; otherwise, she wouldn't have bothered to return two days earlier.
Eveline came to a halt in front of her room's door, gripping the knob, while her gaze shifted to the study area. She wanted to meet Jonathan, but she realized it wasn't the ideal moment because her feelings were all over the place.
