Chapter 84 : I saw it first.

Nectar didn't manage to get to the buffet table as she was pulled away. She was annoyed but it was obviously Eros and he didn't look too happy [ What could I have possibly done now? ]

" Where exactly are we going your highness "? Eros suddenly stopped when Kancor appeared in front of him. Nectar peeked at him [ He's quite handsome and somewhat familiar ]

She took the opportunity to get out of his grip, took a step back and smiled " You have work to do, I'll leave you two be then ";. Eros seemed like he was going to say something but Nectar was already off before he could open his mouth.

" Pleasure to meet you Prince Kancor ", they shook hands and Eros was surprised by the firmness of it and he had perfect white teeth too " The pleasure is mine Emperor ".

" Is there something you needed "? Kancor shook his head, " It's customary to greet the host so here I am ". He had a slight smirk on his face as he turned to leave and smiled, " You seem busy, we can talk later ".

Eros felt his brow twitch " Was he always so annoying "? He didn't know why he'd dragged Nectar away. She was heading in the direction of the buffet table or Luscious and Axis and he wasn't particularly keen about how she spoke with them, especially after her long one at the harbor.

He'd yet to see Dodwen but Nectar didn't even thank him for letting her come, in fact she hadn't even appeared in front of him. Rubbing his chin he mumbled to himself " I should try something else ".

Nectar was relieved and grateful to be far away from Eros, she wasn't sure why but none of this sat well with her. He always ignored her or was comparing her to Athena when he could but spending time with him was unbearable.

Nectar was pleasantly surprised when she reached the table. She scanned among the pristine mountain of appetizers when her eyes landed on a chocolate cupcake. It had white icing and a strawberry on top [ Don't mind if I do ]

But she wasn't the only one who wanted the cupcake, they reached for it at the same time and stared at each other with frowns on their faces, on the other side was Luscious" It's you ". Nectar made to reach for it with her other hand but he caught it, " That's mine your majesty ".

Nectar only laughed mockingly, " Your sadly mistaken ". Luscious frowned, " I saw it first ". Nectar looked like she was considering it when she stepped on his foot. He let go of her hands and she picked the cupcake " But I reached for it first ".

Nectar took a big bite out of it and offered what was left of it to an annoyed Luscious, " Do you still want it Prince Risgin "? Luscious only smirked and held her wrist, taking a bite out of it, " So nice of you to offer ". Nectar frowned [ He annoys me more than Liam ] stepping on his foot again " You're not supposed to eat it, give it back".

Luscious only pointed at his mouth, " But I already ate it ". Nectar ate the rest of her cupcake, still glaring at him, " Then you should have choked ".

Athena was chatting happily with Reli and Melanie who was in a white and silver layered ruffle dress. It had a laced turtle neck and a low back which was mostly covered by her long straight black hair. She had on silver gloves covered in flowers Athena hadn't seen before.

" You have to tell me who you're designer is. Those flowers are beautiful ". Melanie laughed, stretching out her hands " I'm glad you think so but this was a gift from her majesty along with the demon silks she sent me ".

Athena nodded lightly, and pointed at Reli's dress " What about your designer "? Reli waved it off, " You flatter me. This was a gift from Sister Empress ". Athena only nodded, focusing her attention on the flowers on her dress " And what kind of flowers are those "?

Reli thoughtfully put her finger to her chin, " Sister Empress calls them peonies I think. I can ask her later ". Athena smiled, " Well those flowers are really something, do you think her majesty would mind if I asked "?

They were all surprised and Athena covered her mouth [ Why would I say that? ] but Reli recovered quickly from the shock and held Athena's hands " Absolutely not, I'm sure Sister Empress would love too ". Athena smiled faintly, " I dunno, what if it upsets her "?

Reli frowned " Nonsense, we'll go find her right now and she'll tell you all about the flowers ". Reli gave no time to protest as she dragged them through the crowd. She had a hunch she'd be at the buffet table.

She scanned the people in the crowd till she found a head of white hair but she seemed to be arguing with someone [ Isn't that the Prince of Nisrag? ] But Melanie pointed " They're even holding hands. What do you think they're talking about "?

Reli frowned at the site when she saw a cupcake in the middle of the battle and calmed down, laughing. She pointed Melanie's finger downward " You're over thinking it. She just wants cake ".

Melanie shook her head, " It can't possibly be that simple ". They heard Athena chuckle and saw Nectar taking a bite of the cake " I think it is and she stepped on his foot to get it ".

Reli laughed, mentally cheering for Nectar while Melanie couldn't believe it. She felt her eyes betray her at the mocking expression on her face as she put the cake in his face.

Surprisingly, Luscious took a bite and Melanie gasped " That's an indirect kiss, I think they're lovers. They sure look like it ". Athena gave her a little knock " I doubt that and even if she is, you shouldn't say it so lightly. Am I right Reli "?

Reli nodded, " Sister Empress doesn't really like to share her food and I don't think that was meant to be a kiss ". Melanie pouted, " Just because you're friends with her majesty doesn't mean you blindly defend her ".

Reli laughed coldly, " Firstly it does and Secondly, look ". Melanie saw Luscious' pained expression and guessed that she most have stepped on him again. Athena sighed, " Are we going over or not "?

Reli nodded and they went to Nectar. Luscious and Nectar stopped hurling insults at each other, saying the other would choke on something.

Luscious bowed slightly and turned to Nectar " I'm so getting you back for that ". Nectar only smirked, stepping on his good foot, " I'm so scared. Shaking in my boots ".
