Chapter 102 : A horse as awesome as me.

Luscious had no idea why he'd lost his cool like that with Nectar. Though he could be goofy and appear short tempered but Nectar seemed to have the opposite effect on him.

He wasn't necessarily upset, just refusing to back down and that only frustrated them both even more. Luscious rested his elbows on his knees and covered his mouth, [ She does look really good when she's red with anger, like father's old teapot boiling ]

Luscious was surprised by his thoughts as he rubbed his neck, " What is this terrible feeling? It's disgusting ". Luscious had never felt anything like this before and he hoped it would go away and never come back.

Luscious pushed all that to the back of his mind as Lucy came out. She was dressed in a long flowing white dress with black feathers at all the openings. There was also a matching black belt carved to look like feathers, matching her outfit.

" This looks familiar " [ Like I've seen it before ] and the attendant seemed surprised, " That's very unlikely sire ". Luscious raised an eyebrow, now certain he'd seen it somewhere before " And why is that "?

The attendant suddenly beamed, " Because it is only our empress that wears this sort of clothes. She finds feathers comfortable ". Luscious felt his eye twitch slightly, " How does this have anything to do with your empress "?

The attendant didn't notice the sarcasm in Luscious' voice as she pointed at Maria who was taking another customer's measurements. " That is her majesty's chief dressmaker and this is her boutique ".

Luscious couldn't be more surprised as he looked around. Taking a closer look, they did seem different from the clothes he'd usually see in Lishflour. From the pattern to the fabric to the general design of the whole thing.

" This is quite a unique collection you have here ", the attendant nodded in agreement, " Of course sire, her majesty personally designs them and we do as she has instructed ". Luscious smiled slightly, " You seem to admire her a lot miss ".

The attendant blushed slightly, " Of course I do. Her majesty is amazing and quite protective of us. We're lucky to have her as our empress, I just hope everyone else realizes that ".

He couldn't help but snicker as he thought of what she'd done this morning [ She's made a potential enemy of three powerful kingdoms and she's still out her shopping. You should be very worried ] " What makes you say that "?

The attendant shrugged lightly as she smiled to herself as if remembering something, " You obviously don't believe me sire so I will not waste my breath. You'd understand if she shows it to you ".

Luscious felt oddly surprised as he looked at the attendant who was now helping Lucy pick out some clothes and smiled, " I've got another surprise for you Nectar ".

Nectar sneezed slightly, letting go of the horse she was petting [ What bastard is thinking of me this time? ] She rubbed his neck and spoke softly, " Sorry about that, I didn't mean to startle you ".

The horse instantly calmed down and nudged Nectar with its head. She laughed lightly, rubbing his nose " You're so cute ". June appeared and kept looking between Nectar and the horse.

" How did you do that "? Nectar glanced down at her, " Do what "? June stared at Nectar, " You just calmed him down in a matter of seconds. He even came to you ". Nectar had no idea what that meant but the horse's brown main was extremely soft.

Then June pleaded, " Teach me how to be friends with the horses Sister Qidu, pretty please ". Nectar laughed as she patted her head, " I'm no expert, I don't have any advice to give ".

June pouted slightly as she stroked her hair, " There has to be. What are you doing right that I'm doing wrong "? Nectar hummed to herself and kissed the horse, " Do you trust the animal "?

June made a confused face, " Trust the animal ". Nectar nodded, " Of course. You can't work well together if there's no trust. He'd be a lot more jumpy if he didn't ". June frowned slightly, " That makes no sense Sister Qidu ".

Nectar laughed as she picked June up and put her close to the horse, " Try it ". June was obviously skeptical but she knew Nectar would never let it go if she didn't. She held out her hand to the horse and closed her eyes.

Her instructor had told her to be gentle with the horses, to let them come to her so she didn't directly touch him. She didn't think he was actually going to come to her if she tried to trust the animal [ It's an animal for god sake ]

But it suddenly touched her hand and she opened her eyes, obviously surprised " It really worked! Sister Qidu you're amazing ". Nectar laughed as she put her down, " That was all you, I just gave you a little nudge ".

June nodded seriously as she pointed at the horse, " Can I have him "? Nectar shook her head, " Of course not, you're too young to ride a horse this big on your own ". June sighed as her shoulders fell, the disappointment obvious in her blue eyes.

[ I hate being the bad guy, I should have made Liam do this ] and sighed in defeated as she patted the horse, " Tell you what. We can bring him with us but you're not allowed to ride him by yourself. Do you understand "?

June smiled as she jumped and danced, " That's amazing. Thank you Sister Qidu ". Nectar laughed, pointing at some ponies Jewlica and Mario were feeding " Try something you'll actually be able to ride this time ".

Nectar sighed as she looked around and Liam smiled slightly, " What's wrong this time "? Nectar shrugged, " None of this horses interest me ". Liam laughed, " Interest you how "? Nectar scanned the horses, " None of this amazing horses can match my awesome personality ".

Liam raised an eyebrow [ That was narcissistic ] but Nectar went on before he could talk, " I want a horse that's super duper awesome just like me so we don't overshadow each other ".

Liam had no idea why she'd think like that but it sorta made sense. Then there was a loud crash and there was a black horse out of control. It's mane and tail was a fiery red that seemed almost on fire.

All the stablemen rushed to try and calm it down or at least put it back in it's cage but that was a dangerous job. Nectar suddenly smiled as she held on to Liam's arm and pointed at the struggling horse, " That's the one I want Millie ". Liam frowned instantly and so did Nectar as she looked at the horse, " I'm not insane, that's my horse ".
