Ha-Neul's determination to live surged as he filled up all his containers with water and slept while facing the balcony. The next morning, he once again picked up the slingshot he created and walked to his room. He sat by the entrance of his room and looked at the balcony, waiting for something to arrive.

He sat there for hours until he heard the noise of a bird's wing and saw a pigeon stand on the grill. Taking out the slingshot, he couldn't help but remember the conversations he had with Eum Gi regarding eating animals. He was a vegetarian and found it weird to kill harmless animals and eat them just because they tasted good.
