The dream Evelyn had continued on the good part. In the colorful land of candy, she could eat all the goodies to her contentment. Her hands reached for the colorful candies greedily.
The moment she was about to taste the blue candy in her hand, her shoulders were being shaken, and a hushed masculine voice called her.
"Wake up, Evelyn. You have to get ready."
Her eyes were closed while she raised her hand in annoyance to brush away the hold that prevented her from sinking further into the world of dreams.
She had yet to taste the candy.
"Evelyn, get up."
The owner of the voice remained persistent.
She groaned, showing her unwillingness, and complained, "No, my candy. It is going away. I have to chase after it."
"There's no candy with you. It's just a dream."
The dose of realism started to bring back Evelyn to her senses. A small moan of disappointment left her lips as she sat on the bed.
