Chapter 3: The Formidable System

The mechanical was ringing inside her head. It was an emotionless mechanical voice.

"Ding! Does Host wish to Bind with System?"

I hesitated for a moment before answering "Bind"

"Ding!

Binding of the host with this Formidable System"

I felt a pang of pain in my head before hearing a extremely adorable voice in my head.

"What can I call you, Host~"

'What the hell? Am I hallucinating?' I muttered under my breathe. I convince myself that I was just hallucinating when the voice in my head rang out again.

"Host, can just call this cute and almighty system Xia Lan~"

I started to take a deep breath just to calm myself before answering. "Yu Yan, just call me Yu Yan" I said.

"So, what are you?" I hesitate before answering.

"This cute and mighty Xia Lan is from a parallel world of Earth and by chance this cute and mighty Xia Lan spotted you"

"Parallel world?!"

"Yes, Beauty Yan, Xia Lan is this system guardian. I can help you build your own business empire and anything else but there's still a limitation. This cute and mighty Xia Lan can't do anything illegal even if you are Xia Lan's host"

"Okay...." I answered a little lost while answering.

"SU YA YAN! GET OUT THERE!" looks like my Uncle is home already.

This household is chaotic I need to leave here immediately and started my journey of revenge. So, I packed my bags with a little clothes and set it aside.

I opened the door and my Uncle's palm hit me in the face, I don't have the time to react because it happen so quickly.

"Beauty Yan, are you okay?" Xia Lan said worriedly.

'I'm fine, don't worry about me' I responded

Well, I'm not really fine that slap hurts like hell. My face will probably swollen for an entire week. Just thinking about it really distress me.

"You've grown your wings now huh!? How dare you disobeyed your Aunt. Go cook the meal before I beat the hell out of you!" Uncle Gong threatened.

If the old Yu Yan was here, she don't probably have the guts to disobeyed her Aunt and Uncle. But, now that I am the one occupying her body. In my past life, I am known to be a competitive and stubborn person.

Only a few people can withstand my stubbornness when it comes to something that I want.

"Why do I have to the cooking when Aunt can just cook their own food when they're hungry" I argued.

"That's right! Beauty Yan is right!" Xia Lan chimed in.

Are they incapable to do some house chores. The neighbor's probably already heard their screaming and I am right.

"The girl is so pitiful, she lost both of her parents at a young age and was left to live with this relative of her."

"You're right!"

"Hush! You two you've never learned huh? If that witch Gong hear you, she will probably create trouble for the two of you"

While those were happening outside, the person arguing inside has no idea of what others were talking about her. If she knew by any chance someone heard them and decided to tell it to her. She would probably lash out, screaming here and there until her lungs rips.

"Now you're talking back, I've been away for 1 month and now you've got guts" Uncle Gong said.

"You're right! Honey while you were away this girl did nothing but to run around while we works hard in the field" Aunt Gong said pitifully, while drying the tears were flowing out of her eyes.

Wow! What a drama queen, she would have probably won the Best Actress award with her performance.

Suddenly she looked at me and said "You don't have to yell at your cousin to do things, okay?"

I'm so impressed with her acting that I forgot to respond, I was just looking straight to her eyes.

"What did you say!? What right do you have to yell at my daughter?!"

Wow! I'm speechless this family is really shameless, what right do I have? Then what right you have to yell and order me like a slave.

Aunt gave me a 'pitiful' look before saying "Quick apologize to your cousin and swear that you won't do it again".

Hah! I was about to burst out laughing but I managed to stop myself, just in time. You want to play with me, then I'll play.

My eyes suddenly turned blurry as my tears pours out and said my apology but if you look closely you can see the coldness behind those tears.

Knock, Knock

The tense atmosphere was disturb when someone knock on the door.

Uncle opened the door and an old man appeared in her sight.

The old man was the head of the village, Le Ku, he came here for the allocation of the food. He was about to leave when he heard a loud shouting resounding in the whole village, he already know who is it but still decided to pay them a visit since he's already here anyway.

"Oh, It's Chief Le, how come you're here?" Uncle said then he looked at me and said "Stop with this nonsense and ready the lunch I am already hungry, do it quick" after he said that he left the house.
