Iris joined in, her eating briefly interrupted by her grandmother initiating a conversation about their morning plans — testing her driving skills, a plan that had been postponed.
"Alright, we'll do that tomorrow, Grandma," Iris responded in a hushed tone, an inward sigh accompanying her words. Actually, she doesn't need any tests. Her driving skills surpass most people holding driving licenses out there. She even has a license to drive heavy trucks, jet-engine airplanes, propeller airplanes, helicopters, and speedboats.
Xavier finally finished his breakfast and now turned his attention to Iris. He asked, "Interested in learning to drive?"
"Iris can drive, but she had a traumatic experience a year ago," Cassandra explained.
"Ah, I see," he replied. No wonder Granny Gray drives her to campus every morning.
