Cilla fired the final beam, hitting Guo Huizhong in the other arm. He let out a faint groan and collapsed on the floor.
"Why would you do that?"
"That was for lying to me earlier."
Cilla smiled with satisfaction, "Come on, let's go." She turned around and walked out of the bookstore, followed by Bane and Netta.
The customer who had been immersed in a book, oblivious to the chaos around him. He had taken off his earpiece and walked towards the counter, hoping to buy the book he had been reading. But he stopped in his tracks when he saw a body on the ground.
Shocked he looked around, but the bookstore was strangely quiet and empty. He started to feel a chilly sweat on his forehead, and his heart was thumping loudly in his chest.
Swiftly, he took out his phone and called the emergency number.
