It was midnight and the apartment was quiet. The only sound was the faint ticking of the clock on the wall. The lights were off and the windows were closed. The air was still and heavy.
The elevator door opened as a figure stepped inside. He took off his shoes and coat and walked towards the bedroom. His footsteps were soft and careful, not wanting to disturb anyone.
He opened the door to Li Na's room, which was dark and cold. The only light came from the moon, which shone through the curtains. The only warmth came from the air-conditioner, which hummed in the corner.
Li Na was sleeping on the bed, her hair spread over the pillow. She looked peaceful and beautiful.
