Thoughts of rage and vengeance were slowly replaced by concern. No matter how much Joshua held her, or talked to her, he could not get her to respond.
With his rage subsiding his appearance changed back to his normal self. His hair that had turned white changed back to blonde. His chains retreated from his chest and neck back to his arm. His skin regained its color. He was back to normal, save one of his eyes. The eye on his left side was as crimson as the blood that flowed in his veins.
He knew he had to do something to help Gina, he just didn't know how. "Maybe the girls can help." Joshua said to himself as he took off his shirt and wrapped it around Gina. He had already removed the ropes that were binding her.
After he wrapped her tightly, he lifted her gently in his arms and began to carry her back to town. As he approached the gate it was closed. The guard that had let him out, did his duty and closed the gate behind him.
"Open the damned gate!" Joshua yelled out.
