chapter 14 - Welcome to reapers I

The translucent girl suddenly began to float around john as she was inspecting him.

but the tent was quiet, not even the bandit king made a sound, his fear seemed to have surpassed his drunkard state of mind, his daughter was in a corner of the room with her snake wrapped around her, even ox and max were shivering in fear.

'this girl is not as simple as she seems' john thought as he looked at the little girl.

"waw!!, so you really can see me" the girl said in surprised, she then stopped infront of John's face and smiled, the mana around her slowly disappeared and her brown soft skin was under the coat of mana, her blonde hair reached her knees, she then stopped floating in mid air and stood before john, she was that of a little loli her height was no more than 5 ft.

"I will take him" the little girl said cheerfully.

"glad you like him big sis" the bandit king said as he breath a sigh of relief, the last thing he wanted to do was anger this little girl.

"who are you?" john asked as he looked at the little girl that held incredible amounts of mana, even the ores could not suck her mana dry it was like taking a small stream from a ocean.

"I am the clan leader of the reapers guild, I am Charlotte Phantom, our guild is one of the best assassins guild ever created, you should be proud to be a member of it" she said while she inspected the collar on John's neck.

"now why would we need something like this?" she said as she touched the collar which suddenly became translucent, she then slide it off John's neck, "there that should do it" she said as she held the collar in her hand.

"huh, how did you..?" john was lost for words, he saw her use her power before and he still could not figure out how it worked.

the girl smiled as she saw how shocked john was, "my power is that of a knight, I have the physique of a phantom, am able to disappear, make things and myself pass through other objects and so on, it's a really neat power, almost make me invulnerable.

john was surprised, he looked at the girl with shock.

"anyway enough gibberish let's go introduce you to the other members, we have lots of fun together I think you will enjoy" she said as she walked to the exit of the ore cell.

"ohh one more thing" she suddenly came to a pause and turned her head in a creepy way, "don't think of running off our else I'll hunt you to the end of this world" her words were filled with killing intent and it sent shivers down John's spine.

she turned around and then released a large amount of mana, the mana was so intense that cracks started to appear on the cage before it shattered completely.

john was thinking of running at first but now he saw that he had no chance, 'this little loli was incredibly dangerous, it's better to be her friend than her enemy' he thought as he followed behind her.

the two left the tent, ox and max seemed hesitant at first but seeing their master leave they ran behind, the bandit king let out a large sigh as he sat lazily as though he was melting in his throne.

as they walked outside in the bandit Kingdom, john saw many that seemed afraid as they saw the little girl, some locked their doors, while some looked the other way and tried not to stand in her path.

"hmm, I wonder where butler parked the carriage?" the girl placed her hand by her cheek as she tapped her cheek with her index finger, she seemed lost and was looking left and right as though she was looking for someone.

john mustered a little bit of courage as he opened his mouth to say something but no words came out.

the little girl turned around to see john mouth wide open and laughed.

"you remind me of number 70, looks like we got another fly catcher on our team" she said as she burst out in laughter some more.

john felt embarrassed but was starting to feel comfortable around the little girl.

"number 0!!" a voice cried out as out of no where a man that looked as though he was in his late 60s walked forward towards the girl and bowed, he was in a black butler uniform and he held an umbrella in his hand even though rain was no where in sight.

"stand butler, this is our new rookie, he would be our new number 100" she said in a cheerful tone of voice as she presented john.

"hmm our new number 100" the old man said as his sharp eagle eyes looked through that of john.

"but his level is so low, I think you should rethink this 0, our work is not for children especially those that have not even pass level 10, not even the bandit king himself is qualified to be number 100 in our guild, I think our best pick was ..." the old man was brought to a pause by a massive amount of killing intent.

"are you doubting my choices butler" Charlotte said in a cold voice that sent shivers down the old man spine, cold sweat ran down his face, he gulped his saliva as he rethink his words.

"ofcourse not, I was simply making a joke thats all, hahagh!" the old man laughed poorly as he wiped his forehead with a handkerchief.

he then turned to john and started to speak in that of a serious Tone, "number 100 I am the butler of number 0, i am one of the two butlers that are to be by her side to protect her from any dangers, you will no longer go by your name, instead you will go by your number in the guild or your alias that you will earn when you are well known in the world, you will also have your own butler which are like personal guards that are trained to protect numbered assassins, you are to keep your level a secret, your name, your family and everything that you are, you are now two different people in this world from now on number 100" the butler said as his piercing eagle eyes shot him a gaze of killing intent, john stepped back in fear but was stopped by Charlotte who held his hand and pulled him forward.

"let's go, we have a long trip to introduce you to the guild" she said as she pulled him along.

john did not know that this was the moment that changed his future greatly
