80. Welcome to Calamity Part 1

A total of fifty warriors walked into the dungeon, twenty high-ranked and thirty middle-ranked warriors walked in proudly for having the honor to deal with the very first S-rank dungeon.

It was unexpected, but it happened, and here they are, the first to spawn on Earth caught everyone's attention. and all countries wanted to have a taste of whatever lays behind that huge gate, so every capable country gave their only warrior to bring back as much as they could and raise their country's position in the elderly circle.

What is the elderly circle?

The elderly circle is one of the highest positions in the world, those people are previous warriors who survived until the newly chosen warriors. They are the source of knowledge of everything related to warriors and dungeons.

Some would wonder, why are they given that much? It's because that is the gift from Nature for them, for being strong and able to survive through all they went through their lives as warriors.

This is why getting their attention is a miracle.

When the warriors entered the dungeon, they were met with emptiness and silence, it was uncomfortable for most of them except for three, the elite trio everyone fears.

[ Warrior 40, "Mikey" used fear resistance, resistance increased to 400% ]

[ Warrior 76, "Chemalmat" is holding the shield of rights, resistance increased to 250% ]

[ Warrior 10, "Einar" excitement increased, resistance increased to 600% ]

"Hehe, I see we'll be meeting an unforgettable enemy" Einar expressed his excitement while following the other warriors. Chemalmat stared ahead trying to listen closely to any noise coming but the silence was deafening you might assume you are the one who lost the ability to hear, but thanks to the sound of wind blowing through the trees, that assumption was far from correctness so they walked through the woods hopeful things will remain safe until they leave it.

While walking, they heard the sound of a waterfall, so their steps grew wider toward their new destination.

"I feel something" Chemalmat whispered.

"Me too" Mikey replied to her, their bodies suddenly trembled and were unable to move for a second. Suddenly, the bushes behind them moved and everyone stood in position to fight the first monster in this dungeon.

It came out of it a little puppy, but it wasn't any puppy, it was black and was emitting a strange amount of mana, all those who were in awe became alerted and aimed their weapons at the little thing. It whimpered while taking slow steps back making some of the warrior's hearts ache for the poor little thing.

Sadly, that thing, some were afraid of or found cute, trembled for a bit before it growled and its size started to get bigger, its growls became deeper the bigger it was getting until it stopped a few centimeters taller than a normal human, and now its shape started to change and it became bulker and its fangs got bigger and scarier.

The elite trio noticed immediately the weird energy that thing held, Chemalmat held her spear and shield tightly and prepared to launch before that thing finished its transformation, Mikey and Einar caught up to her and prepared too to attack. Some of the warriors were also prepared while a few were trembling while witnessing for the first time a monster like that turning to its true form.

[ Humans ]

Everyone flinched after hearing it talk through the last phase of its transformation.

[ How did you come here? ]

"Chemalmat?" Mikey whispered to her, she gulped and nodded before she approached the beast.

"I'm Chemalmat and those are the team I came with. We came through a gate that had opened."

[ A gate? ]

"Yes. It was a huge one. When we checked it, it was an S-ranked gate so we feared something dangerous might come out of it, this is why we are here!" She talked sense into the beast that was close to finishing.

[ You feared something dangerous would come out of it? ]

The tune the beast used sent shivers down their spines, it wasn't a good one, but they could do nothing but hold back until they see what that creature looks like at the end.

[ I always like to talk while I transform, don't get me wrong, I just want to know who are those I'm going to fight, or they're just lost, that's why I'm asking you questions ]

Everyone calmed down a bit but they remained alert for anything the beast might do, "does that mean you'll help us?"

[ Not until I finish asking questions ]

"What's the next one?"

[ Aren't you warriors? You're supposed to be able to sense the type of imbalance in each gate before entering its dungeon ]

"Are... Are we able to do that?" Chimalmat asked, she was shocked to know this fact.

[ Of course, you can, if my master can, then all of you could ]

"Your master?" Mikey interrupted, not only he was shocked by that news, but all warriors were too because how could someone be able to do that? Gates' ranks are unknown until you enter them, or you can use special devices for that though they might make a mistake with a gate or two.

[ You see, my master is a former warrior, and she decided to leave because she found out a lot of flaws in the system and the whole thing about warriors and beasts. She left because she wanted to learn more about the two sides before picking one ]

Horror was clear on everyone's faces, THAT news was indeed an unexpected one, and not even good in the first place.

'We need to go back and warn everyone' warriors thought while watching the beast finally appearing in its real form. A wolf head showed up first before a furry body was exposed to all, its front fangs were very big and seemed very sharp like a blade, as for its claws, they weren't too big but weren't too small, they could probably slash clean anything.

"Shit" Mikey gritted his teeth.

[ I like your answers warrior Chimalmat, but I'm sorry, your lies were the worst I've ever heard. Next time think of better responses]
