What are we?

"You saw what you saw." was Yo-Han's reply to the baffled young men drowning in disbelief, he remained silent ever since.

When it was due time for the guests to leave, Dan-bi and No-Eul were leaving as well and when they got out of the venue, a black car stopped in front of Dan-bi.

She did not bother to spare a glance at the rider, she just followed No-Eul to where their car is parked. But as she walked the car continuously hoots at her. She was confused when she saw who the rider was.

Why is Yo-han waiting for her?, she didn't know what he wants again.

She signalled to No-Eul that she should go ahead and wait for her in their car and she walked up to him while he got out of the car to open the passenger seat.

Still confused by his actions, she had to ask him but before she opened her mouth, he was already standing before her and explaining himself.

" How will everyone believe our act if we parted separately?, I know you don't want to come with me but I can't afford to mess up everything. Get in" by then he had brought her to the car and she was already standing by the entrance.

"But my..." She wanted to give excuse because, first of all she did not want to go with him, secondly she will keep No-Eul waiting. She has to at least inform No-Eul.

"She will have to go home alone, someone will notify her don't worry" Yo-han interrupted her and watched as she got in after a short but concise deliberation-seeing that she can't escape him, she decided to go with him, then he closed the door and went over to the driver's side.

"Where do you stay? Choi family Mansion?" He asked as he slowly drove away from the Guk mansion.

"No, I stay at Sun hotel for now, Still yet to settle down." She replied.

"Hmm" he replied and silence took charge of the whole car.

After a long silence, Dan-bi decided to break the silence. She had a question on her heart and she needed to ask?, She wasn't expecting to meet Yo-han at the party because he hated public gatherings, and she didn't expect him to be this warm to her. She could remember vividly that he was avoiding her like she was dung when they parted, her expectations was that whenever they meet next, he would be really angry and would not want to even set his eye on her, and she had prepared herself for it but everything was different. Even though their present situation is as a result of an act, he had made himself clear earlier that they don't need to act like strangers.

To her he had changed a lot.

"Yo-han, can I ask you a question?" She asked and waited for his response and he nodded.

She paused for some time while thinking if she should ask or not. But she did when he stopped the car by the side of the road upon noticing her reluctance.

"What are we?, and are you still angry at me?"

As if he knew that that's what she was about to ask?, He didn't think about his answer, he was direct and clear with his response. " We are friends, and I am no longer angry at you, I was only upset back then and I felt betrayed, but now, I know that it's not your fault and that you are completely innocent. Moreover you are my best friend, I can't stay angry at you forever and I forgave you already five years ago."

She relaxed a bit, but another question popped up in her head. "What of my dad and the Choi family?"

"Mn, you still have one year out of the six you asked for, I am waiting for your proof. In order for me to forgive you, I no longer count you as a Choi." He said before igniting the engine again and getting back on the road.

She sighed after hearing his response. She understood him a lot but she still felt unhappy. Even though he had forgiven her, what about her family?, She is sure that her father cannot commit that crime but she had no evidence to write off Yo-Han's claims, if it wasn't a video it's still possible but its a video evidence, would she say that it's an after-effect editing?, how can they proof it?.

But like Yo-han said, she still had a year to find every possible evidence to clear her father's name, she knows him too well that he isn't a murderer. He is a medical doctor, a lifesaver which is a responsibility passed on to him by his forefathers -the oath to 'never take life but save it' is a most for every member of the Choi clan. But that is not enough to convince Yo-han.

"You don't have to worry Dan-bi, it won't be an eye for an eye, I won't kill anyone that will not make me better than a murderer." Yo-han said to ease her worries, but how is that supposed to work, sometimes death is better than punishment even though non is better.

"You have really changed Yo-han, this calm face of yours is scarier than the cold and aloof face that I knew before. I can't help but fret" she said that, not because she is scared of him but she sensed evil lurking behind his harmless being.

He knew what she was thinking and he had to admit that he had truly become evil, he just could not say that to her. If he wasn't evil, he wouldn't have stressed his revenge to the stage where the Baek old man kicked the bucket as a result of heart failure. It wasn't a direct murder but his actions and evilness had a huge impact and what happened happened.

Yo-han stopped the car when they reached the destination.

"Dan-Bi, I will see you tomorrow." Yo-han said as she was about to exit the car. She didn't understand what he meant by that, she just took it as a goodnight. He probably doesn't realize that it's not like their school days that they meet every day anymore.

She got out of the car and went straight to her suite. It was until she was out of sight that Yo-han headed to his own apartment.

All the way home, he couldn't help but wonder on Dan-bi's first question ' What are we?.'

And just as he said earlier, they are friends but he was not going to stop there. Like he said he doesn't consider her a Choi anymore. He had forgiven her but he can't help but remember the past and the only way out is to Strip the Choi name off her. Since in his mind she is not a Choi family descendant, he has no problem with her.

After thinking for a while, he felt selfish about his decisions. He had forgiven her and he is willing to give her back her rightful position in his heart but he still wants to take revenge on her family, she is going to lose everything that way while he enjoys satisfaction. He would not want to live his life with her waking up to see her sad every day.

He truly wished that somehow, miraculously, her father is innocent.

After thinking for a while, he gave Na-Gil a call immediately.

"Hey,...what did you say?,...Oh I left already... I need you to assign your best Intelligencer, I want to look into the Choi family, also check again with that Security guard who provided the tape before. I want more details about that epoch, do everything to make people speak, if it will take some torture to make people give information, I don't mind. I feel like their is still a mystery behind that event."

"Yes boss, I will get to work ASAP. Do have a good night rest." Na-Gil replied. He stood on the spot for a while and pondered a bit. 'If suddenly, Yo-han wants to resolve to a bit of violence, then it has gotten more serious and complicated.' he sighed and got to work immediately.
