Prologue: The Suicidal Start

Your life gets easy when things goes according to you, and whenever you mess up there's somebody, who always pulls you out of that mess. Kaye was living his life peacefully in the same manner. Although once he was a short tempered guy, but his girlfriend Ava helped him to be a socially stable and normal person.

It was last day of the PhotonSync research school, since summer vacations was about to start; Ava had completed giving her last physics lecture for the session, and left the school to get the taxi for home.

Just when she got the taxi, and was about to tell the destination to the driver, her phone rang.

"Yes! I am about to head home." she received and replied.

"Can you come to MM mall? I am off early today." it was Kaye who replied at the other end.

"Ok then I'll be heading there."

Ava hung up the phone and told the driver to take her to the MM mall. After reaching there she found Kaye was waiting for her, sitting on a public three-seater out of the MM mall.

"Those eyes, it feels like only those can see me and no one else." Glaring at Ava's eyes Kaye wondered as she was coming towards her.

She smiled at Kaye watching her so adorably.

"So are you done with your work?"

"Yes! The Star buster's gameplay is completed so there won't be any new project until its launch, that'd be next week." he replied.

Kaye was a game developer and a team lead at that, his studio's recent project was a big one, which had already completed. So he decided to go on a trip for few days with her, and called her for shopping.

After they have completed their shopping they were heading towards their home. They were walking down a less populated back alley to get to the road for finding a taxi. It was almost 500m away.

"I never want to leave your side." He was holding her hand and she was leaning her head on Kaye's shoulder as they both were in heaven, walking leisurely towards the road.

In the next moment he saw her screaming top of her lungs seeing at Kaye's head, which was bleeding. 'What happened, I am by your side.' Couldn't able to understand what was going on Kaye give a look to panicked Ava.

Soon he saw four men were trying to snatch things from Ava, after he came through the shock of being hit. His head started to feel heavy and his left shoulder was fully soaked in his blood, somebody had hit him with a rod from backside.

"I will give you everything, please let him live please…."

She started pleading to them, removing her neck-chain and bracelet.

"Don't do anything to her please" he spoke but words didn't seem to come out. He was fully terrified and afraid that they will kill her, if he tried something rash.

He tried to approach towards her, but his legs weren't responding. He was barely able to stand and slowly he began to lose his consciousness. She was screaming and trying to reach towards Kaye, but they were holding her didn't letting her go. No matter how much both of them pleaded the snatchers didn't let her go, in front of his eyes one of them hit Ava so hard that she instantly became silent.

"I will kill you all…." he swore in his heart, just then Kaye totally lost his consciousness.

Kaye woke up in the hospital few days later; an unpleasant pain of something sticking behind his head, it was the stitches where he got hit.

"I have to save her, she must be struggling with those snatchers" he thought and rushed up from the bed.

"Easy sir you haven't fully recovered yet!" a nurse told him to take it easy.

"Where am I?" he yelled.

"Sir you …"

As she was about to answer his question, he interrupted her.

"NO! First tell me where is Ava?"

The expression on the nurse's face changed and she became disappointed.

"Sir, you need to rest first." Nurse tried to calm him down.

"I need to see her please." but Kaye pleaded in agony.

"Sir please wait a minute, I need permission for this." Nurse left after that.

Few minutes later she came with the doctor. The doctor examined him and decided to take him somewhere after looking his health condition, doctor asked him to follow them. They soon arrived at the mortuary of the hospital. The expressions on Kaye's face changed, crestfallen. They opened a locker and showed him a dead body. As soon as the cold mist cleared from Ava's body her pale face and her dry lips appeared in front of him. After seeing it Kaye's face became blank. He went to his room and lay down on the bed again.

Doctor told him that he had been there in the hospital for two days, and the girl who was brought with him was already dead so he couldn't do anything for her.

His house was located on outskirts of the city in an open area. It had been three days since Kaye got discharged from the hospital and five days since the incident.

It was almost 1 o'clock in the night and Kaye in his kitchen done with his preparation.

"Clank…. Clank…. Clan….."

Fluttering of steel can be heard aloud simultaneously and vigorously. He lit up the lighter thrown it on the floor it fired up the kitchen. As he came out of the front door whole house was embraced by flames. He then went to the bridge, not too far from his house. The bridge was 150 meter high. The river was full of water even in the summer because it has a dam few km away on it.

He stood up on the railing ready to dive. The eerie silence of night did nothing but encouraged him to dive. He without having a second thought jumped off the bridge with a single thought in his mind "If only I were more powerful".

His whole life was flashing in front of his eyes. Kaye did not know anything about his childhood. He only remembered when he first opened his eyes, and found himself in front of the orphanage when he was only 6 years old.

He knew nothing about his childhood because he was a patient of amnesia; doctor confirmed that after orphanage took him. After living there for few months he was adapted by his parents and at the age of twenty he lost them in an accident. Life was cruel enough for him, now it became tragic, and this incident completely broke him.

He didn't feel the impact of the water since he was reminiscing. "It couldn't go anymore bad everything will be ok death will embrace me now." but it became worse. Cause when Kaye was drowning deep in the water. Life played another cruel joke on him; he heard voice of Ava telling him "Not give up yet, try to give life one more chance ".

No matter how hard he was resisting it to ignore, he was full of confusion what to do? Whether to give up? Or try to live once more in hope to find her reminisce in daily life events which they spent together. Finally he realized "If it is the end I won't be able to make it to the surface" and he thrashed his body with full power towards the surface.

He struggled to swim and managed to come to the water surface. But the shock of hypoxia (Shortness of breath) took him from the reality that the water beneath him was not deep anymore, he can stand, and how come there was sunlight in the middle of the night. After coughing for few seconds he found himself in an unknown place.

It was 5 in the morning. The temperature had cool down as cool as 43 degree Celsius in the summer. Four men were chained to steel chairs of the dinner table. They were looking at each other's faces. Except there were no eyeballs remained. The fire wiped all of their skin from skull, the chains melted and fused with their bones where they were bind. These were the snatchers which ambushed Kaye and Ava 5 days ago. He burned them alive and unconsciously.
