Slipping In

With that out of character moment behind him Xilo went back to trying to get information once all the hype had died. Finding a few other groups to listen in on Xilo also checked around to see if there was a map of sorts. Even just a very basic layout could help him out. "Nothing." He had no luck finding anything and the people he did listen to also had zero useful information. It was just a bunch of people talking about what party's they were going to or who would show up. A whole lot of useless gossip that no one normally cared for. "A war is coming and everyone here is so cheery." This kind of atmosphere didn't match the energy earlier in the slightest.

"Do these people just not care or is Landal that confident that he'll win? It really didn't seem like that from their little assembly."

There were only a few more people that Xilo hadn't tried listening to yet. "Maybe my timing is just awful." That could also be a reason he wasn't finding anything. "Maybe I'll get lucky here." Moving up to another small group of people Xilo had his hopes up. They seemed like they were a bit different from the others. "I don't think these people batted an eye with the man's confession earlier." They just ignored everyone around them besides a few side glances that were full of disgust. Once XIlo was close enough to hear their voices he only ended up in disappointment.

"Did you see those two over there, acting like they're in love? Gross."

Another chimed in on their mockery of the previous couple.

"it's kind of pathetic, showing off something disgusting in public. No one wants to watch two peasants show "Affection." I'm sure that dude is giving her family lots of money, of course she'd say yes. No one would want to be with a loser like him otherwise."

Xilo rolled his eyes as he listened to these punks, it went exactly how he thought it would. "Just a bunch of scum." Xilo tried to walk away before he heard another word. He didn't want to listen to that kind of talk, it only made him irritated. Just as he walked away though he caught word of something that stopped him. "That's...." He could almost feel his heart start to tighten up in pain.from what he heard. Turning around he stared at the person who said it. With long yellow hair and a little bit handsome he was definitely the leader of this pack of punks. The way everyone started laughing and agreeing with him just seemed forced but he didn't seem to care.

The man's words rung is Xilo's ears burning a hole in them.

"I wonder how much he pays her, You think if I give her family double the amount she'd also yes to me as well? It'd be hilarious to see that kid fall to his knees and cry while it happens too. It'd be pretty good payback for how he beat us in that competition earlier and can teach em his place."

"That's a great idea haha."

Xilo felt his anger spike a bit as he stopped himself from punching the dude right then. "That won't solve anything." Telling himself that Xilo knew that if he did that he would be caught by others in an instant. "Some people are..." Looking back at the happy couple Xilo knew that he couldn't just let that comment slide, he just didn't have the time. Walking over to the couple again Xilo placed a trace of darkness on his shoulder and walked away. "I can use this to find him later and tell him." Maybe when the man was alone and Xilo was done here he could tell him about what they were planning to do.

"I doubt their idea will work but usually people like that won't give up easily and they'll try something else. I think his name was Derrek, he seemed like a nice dude from first impressions...Jealousy is never a pretty sight."

Since it wouldn't take much effort to give him a warning, Xilo didn't mind helping, especially since he was already invested in their relationship. "I guess I'm just in that kind of mood today." Once he made sure that was done Xilo left the courtyard to check out other places. Xilo didn't plan to leave here until he figured out what Landal was hiding but he knew couldn't hide forever. At some point his Darkness would run out and he would be forced to leave. Passing the door Xilo saw a couple of guards coming straight towards him as he instinctively dived behind cover.

Even though he wouldn't have been caught regardless, it was his initial reaction.

"King Landal seemed kind of off today, don't you think?"

Perking up his ears Xilo heard the first thing today that was related to Landal. Watching them walk away, Xilo followed right behind them. He couldn't let them escape his sight until he heard everything he needed to. "This could be it." If he was lucky they could lead him right to Landal and some secrets he was hiding. The two guards who were on patrol walked forward as they talked about the earlier meeting that everyone had. They mentioned the queen showing up and how Landal seemed to act weird once it was over. Apparently he didn't even go to his room throne after it was over. Instead he was missing and had disappeared somewhere leaving everyone questioning where he had gone.

"So he disappeared?"

Following them for a little longer Xilo couldn't dig out any more information from them. "Seems no one knows where he is." That was going to make Xilo's goal in finding him a bit tougher. Thankfully the guards had actually led Xilo straight to the throne room. "Those doors." This was the place every guard came to when their patrol was over. "Inside is a lot of strong people." Xilo could feel multiple presences scouting the area. None of them managed to find them, however Xilo couldn't just open the doors and walk in. He had to wait for someone else to walk in and slip in behind them.

"Someone will come eventually."

Xilo just had to be patient

Enjoy.
