"Did that trick them...?" Sitting there she waited for their response while her nerves tightened. "I can't tell them the truth...It's so unbelievable and sometimes...even I don't even believe myself." So many of her memories had faded away that sometimes it was hard to imagine that she was alive at one point. The only thing that kept her grounded was Relia. She needed her as much as Relia needed her. "Yet one day, I'll lose her and she'll lose me." Thinking up to there she tried to shake her thoughts off as the two of them finally snapped out of their daze.
"....What is that?"
Xelfia had never heard of such a word so she turned to Xilo for an answer however he didn't know too much about it himself either.
"To my knowledge it's kind of like an extreme other side of you that can occur for multiple reasons"
"So that's an actual thing?"
"Yes, though I've never seen it before until now and at the very least it would explain why Relia seems so different now, Is that right Relia?"
"Yeah."
Smiling she let out a heavy breath as she felt her body deflate and relax while she adjusted herself to the world. "Remember to tell them." "Don't worry I'm on it." She knew what her goal was. If anything she wanted Relia to be the one to say it but she knew better then to expect that from her just yet. Rubbing the scratches on her arm she listlessly listened to Xilo.
"So if it's another personality when will the other Relia come back."
"When I've accomplished what I came here to do."
"Oh? so there's a reason you showed yourself?"
"Indeed, In fact you might be quite interested."
Saying that she proceeded to explain what she knew about the area in the mountains the best she could to Xilo and Xelfia. By the time she had finished she could feel her eyelids growing tired as the night began. However she already told them all they needed to know so it didn't matter anymore if she fell asleep. Feeling her eyes get droopy she leaned against the tree as sleep overtook her. "This takes too much energy out of me." "Thank you.." "No problem, Though I think I'll need to take a nap for a long while after this. Will you be okay on your own for a while?" "I should be fine, have a good rest." "Alright..." Choosing to listen to Relia's lies she felt control of her body fade while she went into a period of hibernation.
Watching Relia fall asleep, Xilo tensed up as he heard Xelfia's question.
"You think she was telling the truth?"
"I do, why would she lie to us."
"Maybe, but why does she know all that."
"Probably from a book or one of her teachers, regardless now that we know a little about what's going on down there. We need to take care of it."
"But...It's dangerous. Why can't we just warn someone stronger than us and let them handle it."
"The nearest city is Belturn and quite frankly even If I disregard the fact that I don't want to go there I think it'll take too long. With over two weeks of running and the time to get back, who knows how strong that beast will become by then?"
"....You're right but what about the people that are guarding the place?"
"We'll just have to avoid them the best we can while we try to look for whatever that thing is."
"Won't it be in that sea of beasts?"
"Most likely..."
With that they both fell silent as they stared at each other and contemplated the situation. "I understand her worries...but." He had to be of help in some way and if he could stop it before it got too strong that'd be for the best. "As long as they're trying cheap tricks to hide it still then it shouldn't be too strong yet, It's the sheer amount of Astral Beasts that'll be the biggest problem." Thinking that he felt a body nudge up against him as he laid in the grass while his Astral Energy was spread out keeping an eye on their surroundings just in case however nothing had happened yet.
"Xelfia..."
"...Shhh."
Hugging his body she grabbed his arm and chest as she basked in the silence and warmth. "Idiot..." Yet even though she thought that she'd still follow him. If he made up his mind to try and stop it then she wasn't going to let him do such a reckless thing alone not again. "I'm better than back in the Astral Zone." Resolving herself she gripped his body tighter as she felt his hand begin to rub her back as they stayed like that while looking up at the stars. Enjoying that moment, Xelfia wanted time to stop but eventually she felt herself nodding off as sleep overtook her leaving Xilo alone with his thoughts and the night sky.
"Xelfia...Tearia...Relia..."
Muttering those names he stared up at the stars in the sky as he got lost in his thoughts. "This won't be easy....I know that, but." He had too, It just felt like the right thing to do but there was another reason for this decision. It helped him feel a little bit more like a human and would maybe make him stronger. So unfortunately he wasn't without selfish reasons when he decided to want to enter the mountains again. "Though who in their right mind could possibly be crazy enough to want to nurture such an Astral beast, They must know they'll never have a hope of controlling it right and if that's the case what's the point." He couldn't wrap his head around it or even have a guess as to who would do it but it wasn't like he knew to many people anyway.
"Whatever I'll still kill it regardless...I wonder If it's similar to me?"
Reaching down into his pocket he grabbed the wing Xelfia grabbed him earlier as he held it up in the air and stared at it while he remembered about his ability. "How similar are we?" But it make hid skin crawl comparing himself to that thing so he stopped as he felt sleep trying to take over.
"Need to stay awake."
