Determination and failure

Thought rimuru as he was currently daydreaming in the periphery of the now "jura tempest city".

Suddenly there was a loud sound of explosion that brought rimuru back to reality.

"Finally, you've arrived."said rimuru before following the sound of explosion.

On the other side of the clearing, currently three human and an elf fighting some giant ants.the moment rimuru arrived his attention went toward a masked woman valiantly fighting against the monsters.

"Shizu, I'm not letting you die this time."said rimuru as he vowed to himself to save shizu.In his past life when he read the original story, rimuru found shizu's suffering similar to himself and could greatly empathize with her.

"Since i could get a second chance,I will make sure you get one as well."said rimuru as he jumped toward the clearing.

Kaval and his party entered the "forest of jura" as they took a mission from the guild of kingdom of blumund about investigating a monster settlement.however things never went according to plan as they met with one of the strong species of monster from the forest,"the giant ants".if there was only 1 ant they may have been able to defeat it with their new party member but giant ants move in groups so they had no choice but to run.

At this moment however rimuru reached their place as he swiftly dealt with them

using ice ability [freeze] as he turn them into popsicle and devoured them saving the party of adventurers in the process.

"Are you guys alright?"asked rimuru as he feared that he might have come late.

"Yes.thanks for helping us out."replied kaval as he come forward on behalf of his party.

Seeing they were alright rimuru said, "Let me introduce myself,I'm rimuru.You guys look quite worn out.why don't you come with me.we have a city ahead though it's a monster city."

"Huh?!!a city of monsters? And what do you mean by 'we'?"asked Erien the elf girl as she looked at the handsome blonde elf scrutinizing him.

"Haha.. I might look like this but I'm a slime"said rimuru as he transformed in to his slime form before transformed back into elf form."But I'm not a bad slime,you know."said rimuru as shizu stifled a laugh tho she acted like nothing happened when her party members looked at her.

"I think We can go with him.we are not in any shape to traverse the forest beside he saved us just now."said shizu with a neutral tone to divert everyone's attention.

Trusting shizu's judgement,they followed rimuru back to the city.After they entered the city they were amazed to see all the workings and of course rimuru has prepared to receive them as he hid all the different monsters and stoped a few projects.after all he has developed the city way too quickly compared to the original story.the last thing he wants is being perceived as a threat and eliminated early.

After arranging a place for eren's party and ordering some workers from cooking department to cook them a meal everyone enjoyed a meal together after which rimuru went to kaijin to ask him to repair their equipment in hope to give them a good first impression when shizu arrived near him and asked him for a private conversation.

"Say mr.slime,are you also a transmigrated person?"asked shizu as they arrived at a small hill close to the city.

"Yes I'm.i arrived here after dying in my previous world so that makes me a reincarnated person.did my slime joke gave me away? I noticed you stifled a laugh at that time."said rimuru as he was enjoying cool breeze blowing his way.

"Yes,I have a friend who really likes to play games.i heard it from him."said shizu while picking up rimuru in her embrace.

Suddenly rimuru asked " do you have any dream?"

The unexpected question caught shizu off guard."I have 5 summoned students who are in danger because of not being able to handle their magicules.i wish to save them before I die."Said shizu after thinking about it for a bit.

"Then suppose you could save them before you die.how would you like to live the rest of your live?"asked rimuru with a serious voice.hearing rimuru's words shizu was first astonished then smiled as she said, "I don't want to.you know I've been summoned for more than 70 years now.in this long life I've struggled,seen many different things and met many different people.i think I've lived a long life considering human lifespan in our previous world.now I'd like to die as a human."

Hearing her reply rimuru began to feel anxious as he did not want shizu to die.

"I can see what's happening with you.the spirit inside you can't be contained for too long.But I can help you.whatever you want if you want to I can help you contain the spirit or if you want I can also separate the spirit from you.i will also help you deal with your students problem.i have built a large city here and I will someday make it a large empire.i will help you achieve any wish you might have so please don't give up and stay with me here."said rimuru agitatedly as jumped forward and transformed into his humanoid form as he stood before shizu.

After looking at rimuru silently for a few moments shizu suddenly said, "all my life I've been adventuring from one place to other untill finally I'm standing in front of you.after all this time I'm really tired,mr.slime."as she closed the distance between them and locked her lips with rimuru.

"Rimuru,remember my name is shizu izawa.i will entrust the children in your hand.they are in kingdom of ingrassia's freedom academy.i wonder how my life would have been if I had met you earlier in my life."said shizu after releasing rimuru's lips with tears in her eyes.

"Rimuru will you allow me to rest within you?"asked shizu with a bright smile and drops of tears that painted an eternal carving within rimuru's heart.

Rimuru silently lifted his hand as he used [Gluttony] on shizu and wisdom understandingly blocked off all notification as rimuru broke down in silent sobbing.
