"Welcome to the void, my friend." A mysterious voice echoed.

'W-What!?' The lingering soul thought, panicking even more now...

"Who was that? And what do you mean by Void? I can't see anything, feel anything. It's just nothing." He shouted.

"Hmm... That's right... To be simple, this is the space between worlds, where souls find themselves when they are neither here nor there..." The voice loomed.

"S-Still, this doesn't explain why I'm even here, or why I can't see you, How did I end up here? I remember something, a moment, and then... darkness!" The wandering soul explained, still very cautious, still confused for his situation.

"*Sighs* You've crossed a threshold, a transition between existence and non-existence. This is the space where questions find answers, and realizations emerge..." It responded calmy.

Still, confused the soul responded "Realizations? What am I supposed to realize in, this... emptiness?" He asked again...

The mysterious voice echoed again, "The things you asked do not matter at this point... You are already dead in the real world... And, the fact you are here means you are an anomaly, typically, I'd leave a soul like you to the regular cycle of reincarnation... However, this time is different..." It whispered...

"Huh? What do you even mean? What'll you do to me?" The soul asked scared. Though, not caring at all that it had died...

"A wish, simple really... I'll give you a single wish; Specifically an ability, however, I will make your time easier by removing things that aren't possible in your mind to make it easier for you... Other than that, I'll add as I see fit..." He offered suddenly, catching the soul off-guard.

'What??? First he says I'm dead, and now he says he will grant me a single wish?' The soul thought...

"Yes, It's that simple..." The voice confirmed.

'Did... Did he just read my mind!?' The soul thought once more.

"Yes, I have... Now unto your wish." The voice answered impatiently.

The soul took a moment to think about what it need to...

'Alright... This... This all feels too real to be a dream. To think I actually died. Isn't this a thing of fiction? Actually, you know what... I'll just make the wish, there's nothing to lose, and potentially everything to gain...'

Thinking for sometime, the soul came to one conclusion...

"I... I wish for the Blacklight-Virus from prototype..." The soul finally answered...

Though, the silence lingered for what seemed to be minutes...

The soul heard the mysterious voice chuckle, the laugh actually felt as if it was shaking the empty space...

"An excellent choice... Truly. However, there will be, restrictions... I'll allow the full capabilities of the virus to some extent, however, you're potential will not be infinite from what you know..." The voice explained.

"Wha-What do you mean?" The soul asked.

"Essentially, when you acquire DNA/blood from beings, you absorb their specific biological limits, adding it to your own capacity. For example, if your current biological limit of speed is 10mph, and you absorb DNA from a something that can go up to 15 mph, you will acquire that person's limit of speed due to altering your genetic information... Once you've reached the pinnacle of you're own limits, your strength will no longer grow, as well as consumed beings giving a 1/4 of what they should.

However, you will still be able to absorb physical skills, and talents of your victims too, all of them, if they are beneficial to you, I will add a system panel so you can keep track of your progress, and their talents... How does this sound?" The voice explained...

'...Well, that sucks, I lose that overpowered ability of growing constantly... But it isn't too bad.' The soul thought.

"Alright, I accept the conditions... Still, can I ask for a favor, please?" The soul asked.

"... Alright, but be warned that it depends on what you want." The voice confirmed.

"Well, since I wasn't the best looking dude, is it possible to make the virus y'know, make me look more handsome? Please?" The soul asked.

"...Really? Hmmm, I see... Well, that is a minor addition, I'll allow it. If you consume someone that has characteristics that are more superior to yours, it will add and alter your own, changing you overtime..." The voice added, accepting the proposal.

"Alright, thank you!... But, how will this play out? Where will I go from here?" The soul asked.

"It's good that you asked. I'll be sending you to many dimensions... Fictional, because why not? However, when you are placed in any universe, you will remain there until you reach the pinnacle, and if you manage to reach the pinnacle of that verse, you will automatically be transported to a superior verse of higher limits of your choosing, and then it repeats... I'll also add the feature of previous world hopping on the condition you clear your current world first... Is this fine?" The voice asked.

"Actually yeah, that seems perfectly fine... So, when do I start?" The soul asked.

The voice chuckled in the distance, saying, "Now, actually... You're first world is..." The voice waited for a moment, saying, "lookism... goodbye little soul... And please be entertaining..." The voice asked.

"E-" Before the soul could respond, he was instantly wisped away into nothingness...

"W-What the!?" He asked himself, sweating profusely. He looked across the room, then at himself, realizing that his previous body was no more...

"It-It was all actually real?..." He said to himself.

He held his head in confusion, thinking that his previous encounter was just a super realistic one-off dream...

"What... The. FUCK!!?" He yelled.

He got up off the bed, walking straight towards the nearest mirror he had.

"Is... Is this really, me?" He looked at his body form with wide eyes...

'I look like I'm half Asian, and half American, other than that I'm practically malnourished... Ugly, and very short. I hit all the negatives in this life...' He surmised himself disappointedly. 

"Well, I need to calm down a little and think... At the moment, the only bad thing is, was that I have abilities, and I don't know how to use th-UWARRGGG!!!!!!" 

The boy felt a sudden intense motion of pain in his mind. He instantly falling to the floor, clutching his head.

"ARRGGHHHGAAAAAAAAA!!!!!" He screamed. But as soon as the pain came, it quickly faded...

He had beads of sweat trail off his body, from just from a moment of intense pain. And, after multiple minutes of lying motionlessly, he then rose up off the floor...

He clutched his head once more, "...That hurt, like a bitch..." He thought. However... His hands began morphing on command, turning into multiple black and red tentacles intertwining, forming into a decent sized blade...

'It was well worth it... That voice in the void gave all the necessary information I needed, on not only myself, but my abilities as well, as if they were second nature to me too... And who I was in this universe...'

He stood on his feet...

'I was... Jacob Mercer, it was honestly fitting for what I was... I was surprisingly a rich kid with a family that didn't care too much about him, and that was it... I wasn't particularly noble in this life, nor was I outstanding in any regard. In fact, I'm at the bottom of the food chain in this place...' He clenched his fists...
