The Empress Quarters

Not to dilly-dally around unnecessarily, Cecilia lead them to where the Emperor's hall was. They were met with several imperial guards standing outside his quarters as though they had been there all day long.

'Talk about commitment. *Sheesh*' Dante thought inwardly.

None of the guards even bat an eye towards their way but still Dante and the rest kept moving on until an eunuch dressed in a green colored garment that was richly ornamented with embroidered designs came rushing towards Cecilia.

With his luxurious attire, it was easy to discern that the eunuch was one of a high ranking eunuch officials of the palace. Garments were a way to differentiate an individual's rank.

The exact status of all officials could be recognized at a glance according to the colors and designs of their garments.

Both were whispering directly to themselves while ignoring the presence of Dante and Landon. But then the eunuch rushed towards them and uttered.

"Please come in,"

'How rude!! Shouldn't one introduce himself at a time like this? Is this the way all eunuchs behave over here?' Dante thought but immediately shook his head to abandon such thoughts.

'Well, provided we do what we came here for as soon as possible and get the hell outta here then I guess I'm cool with it.'. Dante thought to himself so as to let go of any ill thoughts he had towards the head eunuch.

Upon entering into the Emperor's building, Dante and the rest heard that the Emperor slept alone in his chambers every night while his wife sleeps somewhere else.

Only on very few occasions did he decide to either call one of his concubines in for copulation or just his Empress.

But most times, it is said the Emperor was actually the one who walks into the Empress chambers to have some intimate skin-ship and not the other way around.

This is because the Emperor still harbours respect towards his wife. After all, she was the one with the highest authority to rule the Empire.

She is the female monarch who reigns over the Rosswell Empire in her own right. This makes her The Empress Regnant of the Rosswell Empire in contrast to being an Empress consort.

Aside from this fact, she was also the one Dante had a huge crush on while he was still an adventurer.

Dante and the rest continued to follow behind the eunuch who had now sent every other eunuchs away from the vicinity.

In contrast to the green garment worn by the eunuchs, the maids wore an astonishingly purple colored garment which was loose enough to conceal all their curves and shapes.

The doors of the Emperor's bed chambers were opened without seeking his approval. Immediately they entered, Dante swept his gaze towards the Emperor who was still asleep on his bed.

Dante then turned around towards Landon who stood right behind him before heading towards Axel. He collected the bag Axel held in hand and was heading towards the exit where Cecilia stood before someone halted him from moving any further.

"Where are you going?" Landon asked when he noticed Dante's pace which had quickened as he aimed towards the exit.

"I'll need help curing the Empress and her children and so I'll be glad if Cecilia could take me to where they were." Dante replied before facing towards Cecilia while talking.

Understanding his intentions now, Cecilia nods her head in response.

"In that case then take three of these and these also. Give them the black ones first before the blue ones, "

Landon then gave Dante three black and blue glowing potion vials and three empty jars before specifying how he should use them.

"Wait! Isn't this?"

"Of course it is,. Now go!!" Landon muttered as he urged Dante to get going. Cecilia lead the way as he followed right after.

Although Dante wasn't a potion expert but still with what was in his hand now, he was certain the black potion had to be dragon poison.

'Yes. There's no doubt about it. And judging by the look Landon offered me, my guess should be right.' Dante thought to himself.

With the poison in hand, it means Landon wants Dante to poison the Imperial family.

Landon, Axel and the eunuch were currently present in the Emperor's chambers. With the way the Emperor was unable to respond to their uninvited entry, this could only mean the Emperor's conditions were exacerbating.

If this were to be prolonged any further than it already was, then the Emperor was more or less likely to be on the verge of death in a few days time.

Upon their arrival towards the Empress quarters, Dante noticed a large number of maids waiting outside the Empress quarters. Compared to the king, who had a lot of eunuchs. The Empress had a lot of maids and female guards.

A high ranking maid noticed their arrival and came straight towards Cecilia. The same thing occurred as with the eunuch. The whispering was the best they could do to make sure no one else hears what's going on with the royal family.

Dante couldn't help but wonder how very few people were able to control the situation of not letting the world know about what's really going on with the Emperor and his family.

'This was most likely the Emperor's way of not spreading the news across the palace,'

"How were you guys able to limit the disclosure of the situation at large," Dante whispered towards Cecilia right after she was done talking to the head maid.

The head maid on the other hand had asked every other maids to step out while she waits outside to ensure no one tries to enter or sneak in.

But even with this known to both of them, Cecilia still continued to whisper her words to Dante.

" That's due to the barrier that's been set around Her Majesty's quarters. No one is allowed near here during the day time because Her Majesty and her children tends to scream a lot during daytime. So the barrier helps to nullify the sound produced inside here. But at night time, they tend to remain quiet and docile." Cecilia relayed before turning towards the door of the Empress bed chambers.
