Lucas stared at him, face already paling as more blood streamed down from his wrist.
My head felt a little light. I didn't know so much blood could come out of someone's arm. It was kind of funny to think it would affect me this much. It wasn't like I hadn't had to deal with blood before. I worked as a healer now. But gal, I never had to deal with THAT much blood. And it really did gush, like a hose. Oh brother, this guy was going to die.
And I was running out, skirts clutched into my hands.
But no sooner did I get even close then Roman stopped me with an outstretched arm, the same one that had been cut.
"Yield and I let her heal you. Or would you rather watch your time as a swordsman end?"
Lucas's eyes had fallen on me. This close I could smell all the blood, and if it weren't for the adrenaline and need for action, I suspected I might have had to drop to put my head between my legs.
