Chapter 42 - Updates

Bob explained to Kureha about his idea of opening up a hospital in the future on an island not too far from here. He was giving control of the hospital to Kureha, she'd have tons of people under her command each working towards the same goal. Even if one of them passed away in the future, she'd still have others who obtained her wisdom.

Kureha listened to Bob and understood that the man in front of her had a great ambition. She never thought of such an idea before, nor did any other doctors.

A place that was full of doctors, treating patients daily and advancing their practice. Not only that, they'd get paid as well. The idea was good, she couldn't pass up an opportunity like this.

Kureha agreed, but she said she needed time to settle her business here on Drum Island.

That was fine with Bob, as he knew the strawhats should be coming here soon. Once they did, Chopper would join their crew. With Chopper finding a place to belong, Kureha wouldn't have much else to worry about.

Bob and Kureha settled everything, Bob received a building from her and Kureha signed a contract with Bob.

When that was done, Bob spent a few days buying items to put into the building. It was more like a home, but it would still work as a branch for his organization.

"Two or three people should be fine to run this place. Not much traffic comes to Drum Island, so not too much information should pass through here."

Bob said to himself.

He looked around the building and was satisfied with how things turned out. Besides the map, den-den mushi, a table and a file drawer everything else basically looked the same as before.

Bob picked up the den-den mushi and called the base.

"Hello?"

It was a new voice, Bob assumed that people were already starting to be relocated. Which was fine with him, the only thing he was worried about was the number of personal they had.

"This is Bob, i'm calling to see how things are in Blacktown."

"Things are progressing well, more people are becoming interested in the organization but we've been recruiting slowly. We haven't let everyone join who wanted to."

"Hmm, that's nice. Don't recruit too much, slow and steady wins the race. Has there been any updates?"

"Let me check."

Bob could hear the woman on the other end of the den-den mushi ask about any updates.

"There have been multiple updates. What would you like to know? About the organization or about the leaders at sea?"

"Both."

"The organization has been growing steadily, recently with the opening of our bounty shops we've received plenty of request. It started out with a small group of people wanting to see what the shop was about, and although they were skeptical at first, they put in a request. It was to find a lost item, but our agents recovered it with ease. After that we started to see all types of requests come in.

The number of people who've requested a bounty on people are two so far. We did not ask any information, but they were approved. Currently there is a bounty on a marine called 'Jessi' who was stealing items from the marine base. He escaped at sea and joined a pirate crew under the leadership of Falcon. We were told that Falcon was taking his crew to Alabasta.

The other bounty is for a theif, he's been stealing the underwear of women…"

The woman continued to explain all the different things that was taking place. Bob listened and asked various questions. He was proud that things were coming along smoothly.

His plan was to have all his crew meet at Water 7 and stop expanding. After that, he'll want them to develop themselves and the organization more.

While they would be training for two years, he'll go rescue Ace from his future death. Once he saved Ace he'd train for two years.

Bob knew that if he did not save Whitebeard then the Whitebeard pirates would go after Blackbeard a few months later for revenge. Eventually they'd lose, and lose badly.

Bob could stop that if he grew strong enough to save Whitebeard, but Bob had a different idea.

What if he took over Whitebeard's crew for himself?

Bob shook his head.

Those guys were too loyal, and he wouldn't be able to do that even if he wanted to. It was just a pipe dream for him.

"Welp, a man can dream."

Bob said.

Everyone was growing stronger and battling new foes on the different island.

Bob wished he could say the same, there was no foe to fight here on Drum Island.

Bob left the building and walked outside, there he saw a figure dressed in a black coat. The figure was talking to the citizens.

Curious as Bob was, he naturally had to see who that person was.

In his gut he already knew, but it was best to find out to make sure.

"What's going on?"

Bob asked.

The citizens turned towards Bob, they were surprised by his appearance.

"Faceless, this guy here is telling us to pass along a message to his little brother."

One man spoke up.

Bob was still wearing his demon like mask and the citizens here on Drum Island knew who he was.

The man turned to Bob. Bob could see his appearance clearly.

Under that black coat Bob could make out the orange hat.

"You the leader of this town?"

Ace asked Bob.

Bob shook his head.

"No, i'm just a visitor."

"Do you know who's the leader? I'm trying to pass along a message to my little brother, he should be stopping by here in a few days."

"Come with me."

Bob said as he turned and headed back to his building.

Ace followed.

When the two of them were inside the building Ace removed his hood.

"It's been a while Ace."

Ace was confused, he did not expect for anyone here to know his name.

Bob removed his mask.
