Chapter 29 - Bounty

A few more days went by while Bob was still on Vile Island. Bob introduced John, Ron, Ash, Bella and the others to the 25 ex-slaves he rescued. All of them were polite, maybe it was due to them being mistreated when they were slaves, but they spoke with caution. Bob assumed it was a habit, one that would take some time to break.

Bob sat down with each one of them along with John and Ron. He asked them what they were interested in, if there were any skilled fighters among them. To his surprise the Longleg brother and sister pair were good fighters.

There were two more that were skilled in fighting as well. Bob passed them to John, leaving them in his care. With four more people joining that could fight, once they started going after pirates they'd be able to split the teams up more evenly. So far there were nine bounty hunters who weren't as skilled as John or Ron. All nine of them were new, so it'd take some time for them to gain experience.

Adding in John, Ron and Bob that was a total of twelve. Except Ron would be more focused on the intelligence side of things. However, Bob was thinking of having him act as a bounty hunter as well.

Anything that would help him increase his battle prowess for the future.

With twelve of them, Bob could divide them into groups of three or four. If he did groups of three, John and Ron could lead their own squads. Grow their group, and break it off again. It could continue to happen until their combat force was large.

Bob still did not know what he'd do once his group gained enough strength to rival that of the revolutionary army.

His goal right now was just to build his organization up and save Ace. His long term goal was still in the makings.

With the 21 leftovers, Bob divided them into two groups. One would be part of human resources, which would handle any complaints that might appear, and general recruitment. They'd also have a hand in organizing and documents they'd make in the future.

The other group was for intelligence, basically gathering information.

Bob did not worry about people to man the other two ships, because Jacob said he had some friends back in Blacktown that would be more than happy to do it. Naturally they'd need to get paid.

Once the two groups was divided, Bob started holding a class about following people stealthily. He told them it was easy, they just had to follow behind their target from a distance and maintain that distance.

He showed them a few ways to make it seem like you weren't following your target in case they got suspicious. All his information came from shows and movies he saw years ago.

The also told them to act like they were normal citizens, so it would be best to make it seem like you weren't an agent. Just act naturally, spend time at stores, make some friends but just collect anything worth of value when it came around. Bob made sure they understood that they would sometimes be tasked with tailing a specific person, or even item.

Bob told them they weren't a combat group so there was no need to put their lives in danger, but if it came to it then he'd rather they be prepared. Thus Bob had them spar with each other.

Before the day was over, Bob found an artist in the city and had them create a picture for him. It was of a group of people wearing different colored clothing, there were all sorts of objects around them.

This picture was used to train the intelligence agents eyes and memory. They'd get ten seconds to look at the picture and they'd be asked a question about it later one. Such as what item was broke, who wore what shirt etc.

Bob handed the reins to Ron. He was just helping him out, but Bob felt that Ron could handle it.

Bob kind of wanted Ron to have a voice, but he couldn't do anything for him. He wished he studied sign language, at least then he could teach that to Ron. It'd make communicating a lot easier than him having to write everything.

Bob doubted he was smart enough to come up with his own sign language, so he didn't even think of making one.

There were many items in the shop that Bob could buy, but because it conflicted with his build he did not buy it. There was an item that cost 100,000 points which could allow Bob to read the thoughts of someone. But, that was all it allowed, it gave him no stats. And it could only be used once every two hours.

Granted that item would have its perks in a real battle, but Bob had other items in mind that gave better stats and different effects.

Besides teaching the intelligence agents how they should work, Bob also handled the leftovers that he put in human resources. He basically made seven rules they should always follow when dealing with the person filing the complaint. He also showed them how they could contact one of their superiors if it was something they couldn't solve.

After that, Bob showed them basic filing. Putting things in order from A to Z.

It was tiring, but thats what Bob did for three days.

On the third day Bob received news.

Faceless had a bounty of 20 million. Bob thought it took them long enough, but he was just happy Faceless actually got a bounty. The reason it wasn't high was probably due to him just stealing everything and setting the slaves free. Bob did not kill anyone.

The second piece of news he received was the wanted posted of Monkey D. Luffy.

Bob sighed, things were progressing much faster than he imagined they would.

He kept telling himself slow and steady wins the race, but Luffy was like a rabbit. He was going full speed without stopping. The only time he stopped was after Ace and Whitebeard died, he took a two year break.

The last piece of news he received was that the base for his organization here on this island was completed. Well, the renovation.

Bob went to go take a look.

As he stepped inside he kept nodding his head in approval. It looked generally the same, except there was not as much empty floor space.

There were two large boards on the left and right side of the building. Both of them had bounties of wanted pirates on them.

In the middle of the floor were tables that people could sit down at and trade information, or team up if they needed to.

When you first come in, you'd see three counters. They'd be used to receive request from citizens that wanted to put a bounty on someone or if they needed to collect some sort of information.

The left counter had a small hallway with two doors. One was to the bathroom, while the other one led to the newly created room Bob asked for.

"Wow, this place looks amazing."

Bella said as she came in with a bandanna over her head.

Bob nodded.

"Wait till you see the room where our people will be."

Bob waved for Bella to follow him.

He opened the room and inside were three large round tables. That's where the members would sit if they wanted to relax or just talk amongst themselves. On the right wall was a large map. It was a map of the entire east blue and under that map was another large map which showed the grandline.

Bob was lucky to find this at the auction house, but it wasn't that rare. It was just rare in these parts. His luck must have been good, because Bob obtained two pairs of these large maps.

"That's where everyone will just hang out and discuss future plans if need be. Once I obtain more den-den mushi we'll have a small stock here. Just around three to five, i'll create a channel which connects them all together. That way we can always stay in touch no matter where we are.

As for these two maps, this is where things get interesting. I plan on having Tim create some small pins with a colored ball attached to the top. Each pin will represent where a group of us are on the map. Mostly just the key figures of the organization. It'll have to be updated hourly. Might be hard to organize at first, but once people get the hang of it, things will be easier."

Bob explained why he had these items in this space and where future items would go.

Bella listened to him with a shine in her eyes. She never thought Bob would have this much planned out. It amazed her.

"So, when will we be open for business?"

Bella asked Bob.

Bob rubbed his chin.

"Roughly in a month or two. At that time, we should have at least one more base further out. Gives us plenty of time to reorganize ourselves if need be, as well as collect data.

For now though we'll run some drills with this base and the one on Blacktown. That way everyone can get a feel for how things will run in the future, as well as how to pass along information."

Bella nodded her head.

"But, everyone still needs a bit more training. Not to mention we can't use the 25 new people I recruited on this island, they'll be captured. They've been hiding out on the ship for now, but eventually I plan on having them stationed at Blacktown.

Dave, who you haven't met yet has already recruited some new members as well. We'll trade our 25 for his 15. Those 15 will come here in the coming weeks and stay here until they are ordered to go somewhere else. The 25 we have here will be going to Blacktown and be stationed there until further notice. Except the ones that are going to be bounty hunters, those ones will travel with my group for now."

"I understand."

Bella said.

Bob nodded his head.

"Oh yeah, i'll have you as the manager for this branch here. It's an important role so i'll need to teach you some things. Just basic documentations and how to keep logs."

"Bob, how do you know so much?"

Bob scratched his cheek.

"Let's just say, I had a lot of time on my hands when I was younger."

Organization names? I haven't mentioned it yet in the story, but someones bound to ask eventually right? Therefore, here's a chance to come up with something.
