Chapter 11 - Something Different

The brown house on the hill wasn't hard to find at all. Mostly due to the fact that the flowers in front of it were really beautiful. Bob only knew one of the flowers planted, and that was the rose. Except this rose was different, each one of its petals was a different color.

"So pretty."

"Yes, truly a work of art."

Both John and Dave praised the flowers.

Bob took in the view for a moment, it deserved some apricatation. He wondered if the kid planted these. If so, he had to give the kid credit.

After a few seconds, Bob walked up to the front door.

The house itself was plain, larger than most others but still nothing too special.

He knocked on the door a few times and waited for the kid to answer. He wasn't expecting him to say hello, who's there? But instead, opening the door to see who it was.

The kid must have been asleep because when he opened the door his black hair was messy. He was yawning as he scratched his stomach.

Bob looked the kid over, there was nothing about this guy that shouted devil fruit user or killer.

"Hey there. You understand me right?"

The kid looked at Bob then glanced at Dave and John before nodding his head.

"Good good. You have a pen and paper?"

The kid shook his head. To which Bob nodded.

"Alright that's fine."

Bob looked around the yard and found a stick. It was short and thin but it would do the trick. Bob passed it to the young man and pointed at the dirt.

"We can communicate if you write in the dirt, I can read what you say."

Dave and John nodded their head.

That was indeed a way he could talk to the kid. They started thinking if the other people on this side of the island did the same thing.

The kid took the stick from Bob and wrote on the ground, 'What do you want?'.

"I'm just curious as a cat is all. I'm Bob, what's your name?"

'Ron.'

"Lucky, wish I was named Ron. All the guys I know named Ron always get the woman of their dreams. Anyways, what happened here on this side of the island? Heard you killed the bandits, that's true?"

'Yes. They are all gone.'

"How'd you do it? And with what?"

Ron didn't reply this time, but his body seemed to vanish. Bob stuck out his hand and touched where Ron was standing, he was still there. Just that no one could see him due to his ability.

'This could actually come in handy. Sneaking up behind people, killing them. This kid would make the perfect assassin. Only thing is it probably won't work on people with observation haki.'

Just thinking about that caused Bob to set aside some time in the coming months to train his own haki. He had to see if he was capable of it. He can care less for observation haki of conquerors haki, he just wanted armament haki. At least then he'd be able to cover his sword in it and have no trouble against logia devil fruit users.

"You ability isn't bad, you ever think about putting it to use?"

Ron turned off his ability and shook his head.

"Pity, I thought you wanted to get justice for those who can't get it for themselves."

"What are you talking about Bob?"

Dave asked curiously.

"I'm talking about how he killed the bandits for his mother. She couldn't get revenge herself, so he did it for her. It eased his pain but also all those on this side of the village. I have faith he'd be able to make great use of it."

"Yeah he could if he became a marine. However, I don't think he'd want to do that."

John added in.

"Actually, since i've been listening to you guys and the inhabitants of this island i've come to a realization. There are many mistreated people and others who think they can do whatever they want. I think I found my own spark, a reason to journey and travel besides just being a pirate hunter. I want to help those who can't help themselves!"

Bob said with resolution in his eyes.

"You'd just get in all types of trouble. I'd be never ending, that's a bit hard to pull off. Also, you're by yourself, how would you even manage that?"

Dave asked.

Bob laughed.

"Yeah I know, that's why I plan on creating an organization. It'll start out small, but i'm hoping it will grow over time. If I wanted to just help people and overthrow the world government i'd go join the revolutionary army. But, I want to try things my way, kill off those hardened criminals that torment and kill others for fun or no reason at all.

I have a few ideas in my head, but I didn't think I would find someone like Ron. His ability to blend in with the surroundings, he'd make a perfect assassin or spy. He'd get to pick which one he'd want to do, and i'd pay him for his services."

Bob looked at Ron.

"What do you say, want to cleanse the world with me?"

Ron looked at the dirt for a moment before he started writing.

"How much?"

Bob scratched his cheek.

"We'll come back to that. Thing is, starting out small pay wouldn't be a lot, but once things ramp up and we have branches all across the world we'll be bringing in the big bucks."

"Excuse me, but how exactly are you planning on getting paid?"

John asked the question this time.

If Bob was setting up an organization to help people, wouldn't it be free of charge?

"What i'm aiming for is to help those in need, as long as the situation is dire enough like it was here on this island. However, someone might ask us to travel a far distance to save a relative from being a slave or find a son at sea. That takes time, and time is money. I plan to charge for those type of services, but that won't be all we'd be doing. We'd have an intelligence network that spans from island to island, and we can sell the information to people looking for something. Other than that, we'd also have a section that are like pirate hunters. You want a person dead, ask no questions, just give us the money and they'll be dead.

Naturally those type of orders would go through the superiors, can't be killing off everyone now. But that's the general idea."

"Bob… what you're saying would take years to build up. You'd need to find a location to have as your main base of operations, hire employees, start connections with people in the underground, you'd also need to have a chain of command not to mention rules etc. There is a lot you'd have to understand to even build something like that!"

Dave shouted out.

He didn't want to get Bob's hopes up, but Bob was aiming high.

Bob nodded his head.

"Yes, I know that. There is actually an organization similar to what I described but they don't do as much. I know a thing or two, and I have faith I can operate this organization with some reliable comrades."

"Geez, and their is a competitor… man they'd be aiming for our heads."

"Our?"

Bob was confused.

"Your plan may or may not work, but sounds fun. I want in!"

Dave said.

"Don't you have a family to take care of?"

"I do, but if you're paying well I can take care of them from far away. Just send them money, visit every once and awhile. I had plans of starting my own fishing company, but I can just become one of your employees… maybe even a manager of one of the branches, my skills might not be the best, but finances are my thing!"

Dave said proudly.

"Hey, hey, hey now. You can't think about leaving me behind. I might not have good management skills, but when it comes to hunting people down and killing them, I can easily do that."

John started to voice what he was good at.

Bob laughed.

He never imagined that they'd want to join him in this endeavor.

Ron tapped Bob with the stick and pointed at the ground.

'I'll join you for a year to see how things are, if I don't like it i'm leaving.'

That's what Ron wrote on the ground.

"Alright that's a deal."

At first before Bob came to this island, he thought he'd make his own little pirate hunting crew. At least get two others to join him and they'd chat, drink and hunt down pirates together. But seeing the state Dave and the others were in as well as hearing their stories he changed his mind. Maybe it was because he read what his faction was about. Going up against the norm, creating your own path.

What he was trying to make now, was something new, something different. He'd become his own king.

Bob wanted to see the One Piece story progress, but he didn't care for the treasure Roger had. If he had any at all. Nor did he care too much for what the world government was hiding.
