I’m The Protagonist?! 12

As much as Feng Shi would prefer to continue investigating, she knows that she still has to live the life of a good school flower as her character is in this world.

So having no choice, here she is now, back in school despite how she feels.

Her investigation would have to be put on hold when the weekdays passed.

Rushing her mission seems plausible but then, the previous host would never be so irresponsible.

She kicked a pebble in irritation and impatience, her face scrunched in displeasure. She doesn't mind learning but this is just ridiculous?! She already passed many degrees online in her first world so why is she forced to learn what she already knows?

She came here to accomplish her mission not to experience being a high school.

She stumped on the pebble before kicking it again.

She would be excited by the prospect of experiencing a new life but not when it hinders her goal.

She angrily tried to kick the pebble but to her horror, "Ah!" She exclaimed as her black shoe went flying when she aggressively tried to kick the pebble that she have been kicking from the gate up to now.

Her eyes widened as she watched her shoe fly in an arch before falling on the other side of a fence separating the soccer field from the school, her hands covered her gasp as it landed straight on the back of a student's head.

"Ow, hey who threw me a... Shoe?!" The boy asked picking her shoe up before looking around and spotting her.

Her cheeks reddened further when she noticed that the boy was none other than the person she bumped into in their first meeting, Michael Claus.

His lips quirked a little when he noticed her embarrassed expression before glancing at her shoeless feet.

"Why, hello there miss Cinderella, you know that if your looking for a Prince Charming, all you have to do is ask." He teased walking towards her with an amused face.

"Sorry, it was an accident. How about I make it up to you? Please tell me that you weren't injured" She apologized in embarrassment as Michael approached her.

She held out her hand for her shoe when he finally reached her but to her surprise, Michael just smiled gently at her, his innocent face brightening up before he knelt on one knee and put on her shoe for her with such tenderness.

She froze not knowing how to react as the trees danced with the gentle sway of the wind.

She only came to her senses when she heard the clicks of phones around her.

"Thank you" she replied softly not knowing what else to say.

Michael stood upright and grinned at her. "No problem and I'm fine. I hardly felt it but I might just take you up on that offer of making it up. If you don't mind that is?"

He looked at her with wide eyes and an eager look that somehow reminded her of Xiao Wang, thus she had nodded without meaning to.

When she realized she agreed, her eyes widened slightly before she sighed. Never mind, she owes him twice already anyway. Plus, she can't just go back in her words.

"Sure, how can I make it up then?" She asked verbalizing her agreement and making the other beam.

"I want to be your friend. After all, I don't know anyone in this school and honestly, the girls here freak me out a little and I don't think the male populace like me much" He awkwardly requested scratching the back of his head and making his nervousness obvious.

"Cute," she thought to herself before nodding.

" I don't mind having more friends. All you have to do was ask." She replied.

Honestly, she can understand where he is coming from. The girls here can be too much when it came to their infatuations. While the boys would ridicule him for his soft form.

Unfortunately, her embarrassment came back when her stomach growled indicating her hunger. She had stopped attending breakfast and dinner in her villa because she would just lose her appetite when seeing those ridiculous pair.

"Well then, how about we celebrate this friendship with breakfast?" He asked trying to ease her back into being with him.

Feng Shi smiled gratefully at his mindful tactic of diffusing the awkwardness between them.

"I believe my stomach has already given its agreement to that" She lightly commented earning a soft laugh from the bright boy in front of her.

"I would like that" He replied, hoisting his backpack properly on his back.

They walked leisurely towards the canteen, both already used to the stares and whispers following their every move.

"Are you’re schoolmates always this attentive?" He asked trying to start a conversation.

"Nope!" She replied popping the p. "Just towards someone who they're curious about like the newly elected school angel," she teased.

She has seen how the students have dubbed him in the school forum last night.

He could only sigh helplessly at the constant attention before mischievously smiling.

Glancing at him from the corner of her eyes, Feng Shi raised her brow noticing his look.

"I guess I have to get used to it. The price of being friends with the school flower, now I'm sure that the males in this school hate me to death once the word got around that I had the pleasure of accompanying the school flower" He teased trying to lighten things up.

"Don't worry. I will sponsor your burial" She jokingly followed along with his humor.

Michael looked at her in a mock offense before clutching his heart as if pained.

She easily managed to enter in a relaxed state as they fooled around on their way. Students look at them in jealousy, admiration, and even excitement for a new ship.

She relaxed too easily that she did not even manage to see how strange that was. The only time she relaxed was when she is with her lover, not a familiar stranger.

Pretty soon they managed to reach the canteen.

It is actually a circular room that is more like a food court than anything else.

The color is the same as the rest of the school, blue and silver.

In the middle are various tables scattered all around while indoor flowers and plants are decorated all around making it quite scenic. At the corner are wooden cottages selling various foods. From common street foods to luxurious meals.

"Come on, I'll show you where you can find the best meals" She invited, leading the way toward the center selling delicacies from various corners of the world.

Some shops only sell their own country's hidden specialties. She has come to like street foods but those can hardly fill her stomach right now. Not to mention their health value compared to a proper meal.

"As an apology for what happened, order anything you like it's my treat," She told him while browsing through their menu.

There are Dim Sum, congee, deep-fried Devils, dumplings, and much more mouth-watering food.

Her mouth could water just by the delicious-looking pictures be it the common and simple food exquisitely decorated or the delicacies prepared by master chefs.

In the end, she chooses a hotpot perfect for the cold weather.

Michael looked over her shoulder before also pointing at her selection having followed her eyesight.

"I'll have that too" He replied startling Feng Shi at their proximity moving way slightly.

She nodded, going to the counter and ordering a hotpot for the two of them along with other side dishes.

They needed to wait for a while in the shop before carrying their trays toward where she and her friends usually met but as she turned around, her tray was snatched from her.

With a glare, she turned around to look at the thief only for her gaze to soften when meeting the gentle and loving pair of eyes.

"I'll help you carry it over, Princess" Cheng Xiu told her before looking at Michael.

"The new student right? I'm Cheng Xiu. I apologize for not being able to give you a proper tour last time."

Michael's eyes darkened for a flicker of a second before he smiled at Cheng Xiu. "Pleasure meeting you, Cheng Xiu. I hope we both get along seeing as we are both her friend" He said politely stressing the word friend as if reminding him of his place.

Cheng Xiu returned his polite smile and nodded. "Yes, I do hope we get along well."

The tense atmosphere between them continued until they reach their table.

Fortunately, her other friends arrived not long after, or else she would have had indigestion from how these two seemed to be having a silent war.

As they talked, she was impressed by the photographic skills of some of the students here. They could even rival some of the paparazzis that she have met.

In the pictures was her and Michael in the grassy path, with him kneeling and putting on her shoe, leaves gleaming in the light and the angle just right.
