Wei Ying stood beside Yu Huateng and socialized. The two were surrounded by people seeking cooperation from both.

Although Shi Yuxi wasn't involved in the business her grandfather left her, she did go to the company from time to time to work.

Now many guests finally caught sight of her and sought cooperation.

Yu Huateng at the side felt his vanity get satisfied. Yes, this was the kind of woman that deserved to stand beside him.

His ancestors really didn't lie to him, as long as the backgrounds match, then the marriage is good.

Roughly two hours into the banquet, the orchestra started playing.

Yu Huateng put his hand in front of Wei Ying and bowed, "May I have this dance with you?"

Wei Ying put a hand on her mouth and chuckled. Taking Yu Huateng's hand, she smiled, "It's my pleasure."

Wei Ying and Yu Huateng swayed into the center of the hall, making the guests let out a sigh of appreciation and regret.

Why couldn't they have a partner like this?

Yu Huateng and Wei Ying danced two dances before drifting to the side and drinking some wine.

Yu Huateng stood beside Wei Ying absentmindedly, his eyes twirling around the hall in search of something.

Wei Ying acted like she didn't see anything and didn't point Gu Shenyi's place to Yu Huateng.

Wei Ying didn't even know why Yu Huateng's mom brought her over today. Was it to make her give up on her son?

Wei Ying shrugged her shoulder, either way, she didn't care. Soon, she would get rid of this ill-fated pact of engagement.

Wei Ying looked at Tian Xue who was serving drinks and gave her a nod.

Tian Xue nodded her head and headed to the back of the house.

After a while, Yu Huateng's mom came.

"Yu'er, Ah Teng, it's about time," Yu Huateng's mom was smiling widely.

Taking Wei Ying's and Yu Huateng's hand, Yu Huateng's mom headed to the stage.

"Good evening, everyone," Yu Huateng's mom said, "I hope you are enjoying yourselves."

"We are," Many guests shouted and raised their glasses with smiles on their faces. They got to socialize and create connections, of course, they were happy.

The ambiance of the party was also good and everything was in order. The Yu family was really a family with a long history and knew how to entertain their guests.

"As you might know by now, the thing that got us together today is two very happy events. The first is my son's birthday and the second is his engagement with a young lady that is like a daughter of mine."

Yu Huateng's mom went on about giving a long moving speech, making some guests feel moved and wipe their tears.

By the end of the speech, Yu Huateng's mom said, "Please, I want you all to bless these two children of mine. May they live together till their hair turns gray."

Yu Huateng's mom mentioned for Housekeeper Huai to bring out the rings.

Yu Huateng and Wei Ying stood in front of each other with a big projector displaying their photos together and their photos alone.

Wei Ying's smile widened as she watched the projector.

As Yu Huateng held the ring and Wei Ying's left hand, ambiguous moans filled the hall.

On the projector, Yu Huateng could be seen naked and pressing a woman against a railing and moving his lower body as he supported her knee on his shoulder. Shortly after, another video of him naked appeared with the same exact woman in a room and doing the same exact act while both knelt on the carpet.

Wei Ying appreciated the sight in front of her. She keenly noticed something. It seems Yu Huateng liked doggy style and anything from behind.

Wei Ying gave Yu Huateng a quick look before stumbling a few steps in disbelief, her face drained from all color.

The surrounding guests either looked on in disbelief or murmured softly.

"Is that Young Master Yu?"

"And here I thought he was a devoted lover, turned out he is no different from other men," A young lady scoffed, her expression full of disgust and contempt.

"Miss Shi is really pitiful and lucky at the same time. Luckily, she got to know about this before marriage." The young lady's companion agreed.

"Who is that woman, by the way?"

Hearing all the murmurs, Yu Huateng's mom's expression changed and she quickly shouted, "Turn it off now. Turn it off, do you hear me?"

Wei Ying had a cold expression, and she searched the hall for Gu Shenyi's figure. There, she stood frozen in place, pale, and trembling.

Wei Ying turned her head and looked at Yu Huateng who had his eyes wide open as he watched the very big screen displaying his carnal affairs with Gu Shenyi.

Yu Huateng woodenly turned to look at Wei Ying with a pale face. "Yu'er…"

Wei Ying raised her hand to stop him, "Stop. I am not blind."

"Yu'er, please. This is fake, you have to believe me." Yu Huateng held his chest. His heart was burning in pain and his blood boiled in anxiety. He didn't want Shi Yuxi to misunderstand him.

"Yu Huateng, didn't you tell me you have nothing to do with that maid?" Wei Ying questioned.

"She's a maid?" someone exclaimed loudly, "There she is."

Yu Huateng's mom's expression changed from green to blue to white as she kept shouting to turn off the projector. Turning sharply, Yu Huateng's mom held Wei Ying's hands, "Yu'er, you must not believe these. It's clear someone is trying to frame and destroy the relationship between you and Ah Teng."

Wei Ying pulled out her hands roughly from Yu Huateng's mom's hold, "Madam Yu, do I look like an idiot to you? Yu Huateng has been very diligent lately in seeing you, I thought it was strange at first, but now I know why he went to your house. It was clearly to sleep with that maid."

"Madam Yu, don't take everyone to be stupid. I know of all your intentions. I was only patient with you because I loved Yu Huateng. You keep saying I'm like a daughter to you, but which mom would find her daughter's fiancée a mistress and make it easier for him to see said mistress? Madam Yu, if this is what your love for me is like, then I really can't afford this love." Wei Ying paused to take a deep breath, "I loved Yu Huateng, but he disappointed my trust and treated me like an idiot this whole time. Yu Huateng followed Wei Ying from behind, "Yu'er, please, don't do this to me."

Wei Ying walked quickly and climbed the stairs and closed the door behind her quickly.

Yu Huateng knocked on the door, "Yu'er, please open the door, I can explain. Don't do anything rush in the heat of the moment. Don't hurt yourself."

Wei Ying who was rolling the suitcases she packed a long time ago fell speechless. Did Yu Huateng think she would try hurting herself for him? For him, this scumbag, she would do something to herself.

Yu Huateng really overestimated himself.

Downstairs, Gu Shenyi fell to the ground, her whole body shivering.

The stares of the people around her and the way they pointed at her and talked in hushed voices didn't help her condition.

Gu Shenyi hid her face and ran away, bumping into people left and right as she hid her face with her hands.

Yu Huateng's mom endured people's scornful expressions and told the guests to leave and to excuse them for the ruckus this time, they will make it up to them another time.
