Regina (2)

Time flew. Khandi started looking weaker and weaker. Regina also started looking weak because of not getting enough nutrients and caring for her father day and night.

A day finally came when Khandi didn't wake up. Regina got worried seeing her father staying unconscious for one day. She didn't try to touch him, as his father warned her not to touch him. She checked his breath, he was breathing, but the breath was very weak. If he wasn't breathing, Regina would've thought that he was dead.

After thinking for a while, she decided to find a healer and go against her father's decision because if nothing is done. Her father will die for sure, and she won't take this chance.

Regina has never gone out for a walk. She spent six years of her life inside an orphanage until she won the competition. After winning the competition, she spent her life inside the house doing practice all day.

She was obsessed with smithing. Khandi was very rich, so she didn't have any problem with the materials. Materials were always provided for her before she even wanted them.

Regina needed to do something for Khandi, as he was the only family she had. She went out to find a healer for her father.

Regina didn't tell the guards about Khandi being unconscious because She was only a child in an age not in knowledge. Khandi also has never hidden anything from Regina. She knew Khandi had many enemies, and this injury must be the work of one of his enemies. As Khandi was the highest level any being could reach in Nehan, so he couldn't just get injured out of nowhere.

Regina has decided to find the healer herself. She started walking around the city to find a healer. It didn't take long for her to find a healer. She found a clinic named Earthly Healer, as written on the board. She entered the clinic. A young man was sitting on a chair in the clinic. The man noticed her entering the clinic.

Regina felt the man looked weird. He had the same body shape as Elves, but he didn't have sharp pointy ears.

Regina didn't know why, but she could sense a kind of gloom around the man. She told the man about the injury of his father and then took him to her house to check on her father.

Regina forgot to tell the guards about him in a rush, so the guards stopped Dev when he tried to enter her house. She found out the name of the man. His name was Dev.

After hearing about the treatment cost from him, Regina gave the man 30 golds as advance for the treatment of her father, for a month. Regina knew 30 gold coins was an enormous amount of money, but she wanted Dev to do her best while treating her father. The man left after doing the treatment. She didn't want to take any chances, so she fired the guards who stopped Dev. In case he takes the event to his heart.

As she hoped, the next day, Dev arrived early in the morning for the treatment. She was stunned to see him this early. He left after doing the day's treatment.

After Dev left, Regina started practicing smithing. She hasn't practiced for a while because of the concern. But, now that her father has a healer for the treatment, some of the worries she had got released.

Today, she was going to try forging a sword by using Iron. Iron was the most ordinary material to practice for Dwarves.

All the materials she needed were already there. The next step in forging a sword was to select the design. She wanted to forge a simple sword, as it was just for practice.

She cut the Iron into the size she needed after cutting, the size of the Iron was about 11 inches.

She turned on the forge. The temperature of the room rose due to the heat. She put the piece of metal in the forge to heat it.

After the Iron got heated, it was time for hammering.

She hammered the Iron until the desired shape, so she re-heated the Iron and continued. The hammering continued until she got the desired length and width of the sword.

After the hammering, she re-heated the sword to a higher temperature. After the heating, she left the sword to cool down slowly.

Her clothes were wet, and her throat was dry, so she exited the room.

She took a heavy breath after exiting.

"Smithing always makes me forget everything," Regina murmured.

It will take several hours for the piece of metal to cool down, so she went to her father's room, checked on him, and sat on the couch near the bed.

She was tired due to hammering after so long, so it didn't take long for her to fall asleep. It was already night when she woke up.

After waking up, she checked on her father. He looked the same as the day before. A tear left her eye, seeing her father still in the same situation. She felt a lump in her throat.

"Don't worry father. You'll get better soon," Regina spoke to her unconscious father hoarsely.

As Iron must have cooled down, she entered the smithing room to continue forging.

After cooling down, it was time for grinding to create the edges and point of the sword.

After grinding, she put the sword in the forge to re-heat. According to her precision, she took out the sword and put it in the quench water to cool it down faster.

After this, it was time to grind again to create it in the desired way.

It took her half of the night to grind. Finally, the sword was complete.

She exited the room and checked the time. The scheduled time for Dev was 5 hours later, so she fell asleep.

The next day, Dev arrived on time. He left after the treatment.
