Smithereens. Chapter 06.

Sofía POV

It was only ten in the morning and the day could not start without problems.

I had not been to work and I would bet all my money that my colleagues must have called my department at least twenty times, but I did not pick up the phone. I did not feel like going to my office, I did not want to see my friends, I did not feel like making a coffee or a sandwich right now. I did not feel like doing anything at all. I did not feel like living.

What I wanted to do, basically, was being prepared for the catastrophe. The one that I waited for several years and was willing to accept in order to see her again. See Emma again.

I pulled that heavy machine that I had bought from a website last week. When I found myself in the living room, I hit the power button. The green light from that device that looked like the smoke machines they used for parties shone brightly. The sound coming from that silver metal invention made it seem like there was a tractor inside the apartment.
