Protector of the World Tree

I suddenly woke up hearing someone calling me. "My child, its time to wake up." I slowly stood up and watched the place surrounding me. I looked behind my back and saw an enormous tree, as if we were one. "My child." Suddenly, creatures coming from different directions appear in front of me, forming a crescent-moon shape. One by one they bowed and flower petals fell from the sky. "Welcome home, my child."

Lustina Kingdom

Crown Prince's POV

"We have arrived, your highness." The butler opened the carriage door.

"I'll lead you to the throne chamber." I gave a nod and went with him. We reached the main gate a few minutes later.

"His royal highness, the Crown Prince, has arrived!" The tall and astronomical golden door opened. As I walked down the aisle, the loyal servants kneeled and greeted me.

'"Welcome back, your highness," said the servants.

I stopped not far from the king's seat and kneeled.

"Greetings to the King and Queen of Lustina. I, the Crown Prince, have arrived." I suddenly found myself staring at a hand. My mother, the Queen, came down to assist me as I glanced up.

"Welcome back, my son." The sun's rays bounced off her flawless pink hair and her bright blue eyes. Because of the sun's reflection from the windows, the royal chamber was illuminated in the morning.

"Brother!!" A voice spoke up through the side. And my sister was sprinting at me. She gave me a strong embrace as soon as I got up. Her beautiful eyes and straight, pink hair remind me of my mother. Because of how similar they seem, people occasionally confuse them for sisters.

"*Giggle* Welcome back, brother."

"Lucy." I said while gently stroking her head.

The first princess to be born into the Lustina Royalty is Lucretia Henna Lustina. No one in the Lustina family has given birth to a girl in a millennium. The birth of a daughter into the family was hailed as a miracle by some.

"How was your trip?" My mother, Helefina Thessalia Lustina. She was the only daughter of Viscountess Helga Elke Amaleas, my grandmother.

"It was fine." I said and gently smiled.

Since my sister Lucy is the sole heiress, and it seemed inevitable that she would inherit the Amaleas.

"Let's play, brother." my sister said while using her cuteness.

"I'm sorry, Lucy, but I have work to do." I said, and caressed her head. She pouts her lips.

"Okay, fine, I know that you're always busy handling your duties as the Crown prince of our Kingdom." She's seven years younger than me and spoilt, yet she never crossed the line and waited patiently for me to finish my task.

"I'm sorry, but I brought you a gift." Saying so, I motioned for my secretary to fetch the gifts for the princess.

"You may just send it straight to my palace; it's okay, brother. I am aware that you need to rest since you are tired."

"Your sister is right." A husky but sweet voice came out of my father's mouth.

"Father," He said, approaching us as I spoke. King Luthais Yeceran Lustina is my father. The Lustina Kingdom's sixth ruler.

"You can take a break, son." My father said, and he patted my left shoulder.

"But I have to..."

"I will handle it. There's no need to push yourself." My family gave me a warm smile and hugged me.

"Thank you, father, mother, and Lucy." I smiled brightly as we continued talking.

"Are you sure you don't want me to accompany you back to your palace?" I was worried since it was getting dark and something might happen to my sister.

"Don't worry, brother, I asked your secretary to accompany me back to my palace." My sister smiled softly while my secretary was shocked.

"Y-yes?!" my secretary stuttered and did not dare look in my direction.

"You promise, right?" My sister said with pleading eyes.

"I'm counting on you, Kelvhan Ryul Filaurel." I smiled at him coldly, and I could see that he was gulping really hard.

"Y-you c-can count on me, y-your highness." He said in fear.

"You should rest well, brother." Sister.

"Be careful." We bid our goodbyes, and  entered my palace and was welcomed by the staff.

I went to my office and grabbed the video communication equipment, which was the crystal ball.

"I greet your highness."

"There's no need to be formal, Zain." Yes, it's the duke's son, Zain Vallen Ravana.

"Do you have any leads?" I asked.

"*Shakes head* I can't find that guy, your highness." Zain replied.

"*Sigh* We need to capture that guy as soon as possible."

"That would be impossible, your highness." It was the first time that I heard Zain disagree.

"Why is it?" I asked.

"I asked the beastmen and women living near the shore."

"And?"

"The oddest thing is that once we and the prince of Elyarus came, nobody went inside the Angora kingdom; they had no idea who he was." Zain.

"So, you mean?"

"Yes, he entered the Angora kingdom illegally."

"But if he entered the Angora kingdom with no one knowing, then the beast-men should know, since they can differentiate the scent between them and the humans." I said

"Yes, but they didn't seem to notice his existence." Zain.

"Is it even possible?" I asked.

"We don't know, but the beast men also said something."

"What is it?"

"They smell a familiar scent from his body."

"Scent?" I asked and he nodded.

"Yes, they said something about how familiar it is, but they gave me the assurance that it was not a bad scent but a good one." He answered.

"Did they all have the same answer?" I asked.

"Yes." Zain.

"*Sigh* It seems finding him will take a long time." I was completely stressed out right now after what we saw at the fight.

"Yes."

"*Smile* Then we'll just take it slowly."

"Yes, your highness." Zain.

"See you tomorrow." I bid him a goodbye and he lowered his head.

"Yes." I ended the call and went to my room to rest.

"Prepare my bath."

"Yes, your highness." The butler clapped and all the servants went in.

"The bath is ready, your highness," the butler said, and I headed to my room and prepared for my bath.

"Everyone can leave." The servants nodded and silently headed outside and closed the door.

I take off my clothing and make my way to the tub. I took a nice bath and relaxed after soaking myself. I shut my eyes to get rid of all that was on my mind. I got out of the tub and put on my robe two hours later. I grabbed the nightwear off the table and put it on.

I took a seat in the chair on the balcony and gazed up at the starry night sky.

"Tomorrow is a new day."
