Chapter 1:

Takumi Nakamura sat in his cramped office in downtown Osaka, surrounded by piles of old newspapers and tattered books on the paranormal. He was the editor-in-chief of "Project Yökai," a monthly magazine dedicated to all things supernatural. But despite his career, Takumi didn't believe in ghosts.

To him, they were just stories, told by people to scare themselves. That was until he received an email from an anonymous fan, claiming to have seen a ghost in an abandoned house on the outskirts of Osaka. The email intrigued him, and he decided to investigate the matter further.

As he arrived at the address given in the email, a decrepit old house surrounded by overgrown weeds and crumbling walls, Takumi's heart raced with excitement. He took out his camera and began to snap photos of the exterior. The house looked like it had been abandoned for decades, with broken windows and a rusted gate.

As he approached the front door, Takumi heard a strange sound coming from inside the house. It was a low, guttural moan that sent shivers down his spine. He hesitated for a moment before pushing open the door and stepping inside.

The interior of the house was even more rundown than the exterior. The walls were covered in peeling wallpaper, and there was an overpowering musty odor in the air. Takumi made his way through the first floor, taking pictures and searching for any evidence of paranormal activity. But he found nothing out of the ordinary.
