Outdoor Training

I woke up early because I had a good night's sleep, and no nightmares, I showered then changed into training clothes given to me by Freda, I am glad that the shoes are comfortable on my feet. It is similar to combat shoes, but so light, it feels like I am not wearing anything. When Nick and Hale arrived, I am very much ready. They greeted me both with wide smiles on their faces.

     They take me to the forest by teleporting. It is one of the skills they want me to learn preferably. They said it is now safe to train at the training campground which is located at the heart of the forest of Aeras Kingdom, since one of the elders of the council of Aeras put a spell on the entire camp.

"Now that we are outside, you can practice more here Malia, use your power to manipulate all the things you can find in here. This is the best place for training, an open ground, just remember not to set foot outside the barrier made by the elder, it's not safe outside it. Good luck Malia." Said Nick.

Only Nick and Hale is present, Freda has important things to do in the castle, the king asked for her presence early in the morning, I asked her to have a good rest after she finished her errands.

I began my daily training by doing the same exercises they taught me yesterday. They made me run how many laps. I was able to release my wings comfortably, then I soared above the ground, then I quickly descend to the ground try running with open wings. I hate to admit, but I am enjoying my new abilities, I can easily take flight in the air, and then land smoothly on the ground.

"It is important that you have endurance and stamina, it is important during battles. You also need to enhance your agility, so that you will not be hit easily, don't worry Malia you will be used to all these in no time." Prince Hale said while looking at me in the eyes.

"Do I really need to be in battle Hale, Nick?" I asked them.

"We don't want you to fight at all Princess, as long as we are on your side, we will do our best to protect and keep you safe, because that is our duty and most importantly we care for you." Prince Hale said seriously.

"We don't have a choice, but train you for your own safety. It is a precaution we need to take, what if you will be abducted, who knows? You need to learn how to defend yourself too, there are circumstances that we will not be there for you, that is why you should learn all the skills needed in combat, but we can't do it all here in Aeras Kingdom, eventually you will acquire all of it during your studies and training at the academy." Hale continued talking to me.

    "Though, you are the most powerful fairy ever born next to your great-grandfather in entire Erthesia, you need to know how to use your power. King Trelos and his son are evil Malia. They will not hesitate to hurt you in order to get what they want from you. They waited for you for a long time now, the dark forces are also busy training and doing exercises to gain more power and to obtain another new color to their wings." Nick explained.

I felt goosebumps all over my body, for the first time I really feel scared, so this king has been so evil, just thinking about it that he is planning to kill an innocent life just for his own satisfaction and revenge makes me shiver with fear.

   "So, what do you want me to do now?" I asked them both.

"Now, you need to learn how to defend yourself if someone will attack or assault you." Said Nick.

    We have trained since morning until dusk, as usual, they let me run how many laps before they allow me to have a break and drink some water. In the human world, I never participated in any kind of sports that is why I find it hard to run and exercise.

    The only time I experienced perspiration is every time I tend our garden. My adoptive parents never allow me to jog even with Freda.

    At the end of the day, I learned at least how to dodge an incoming attack, how to intercept a dagger, how to avoid and catch flying arrows, by simply trying to concentrate on listening where it comes from.

     We are all seated at the bench inside the training campground having a rest after a stressful day, at last the two princes called it a day. I release a sigh of relief, I felt so drained, I don't have more energy left if they will ask me to run or fly again.

    I still can't believe that now, I have the ability to hear even the slightest sound of the wind, animals and even insects.

    They said I have the ability also to shut it out if I want to. They said each fairy has different abilities, talent, and power it depends on the color of their wings.

      "I want to know why it is only now that you guys decided to fetch me from the human world?" I asked looking at Nick.

"Actually, we planned on getting you out of the human world as soon as you show any sign of magic coming from you, that is why Freda was sent over there in your world ahead of me." Nick said.

"The king miscalculated his power, then  he believed that at the age of fourteen you may be able to overcome the spell, but we should give him credit for it lasted for sixteen years. I think you were only two years old when he cast that spell on you." Nick continues talking while once in a while he looks at me.

"The dark king has special abilities, he is too powerful, that is why we needed you, for years now he has been recruiting allies from different kingdom to follow his quest on conquering the whole Erthesia land." Nick said looking at the moon that shining so bright above us.

"He knows that the only person who has the ability to defeat him is the real heir of Erthesia kingdom. The daughter of his rival King Maverick, that is why he ordered his dark followers to find you."

"There are rumors that sooner or later he will conquer the Erthesia kingdoms one by one, and of course he is planning on attacking first the nearby small kingdoms." Prince Hale said.

"Actually, some say there is another reason why he wants to have you in his kingdom, but I better not tell you, for it will make you terrified, even me hate the idea just thinking about it." Nick said seriously.

"Come on Nick, just tell me what it is? So that I will become ready and prepared." I asked him while fluttering my eyes.

"Not now Malia, it is a very bad thing, and I don't want to share it with you, okay? Maybe some other time, you are just starting your training and you need to focus. Telling you baseless information will just make you anxious." Nick said firmly, that I don't have a choice but to shut my mouth.

They told me that Erthesia Land is composed of seven kingdoms, the Erthesia Kingdom as their ruling kingdom. Erthesia Kingdom unified all the kingdoms of Erthesia Land during the reign of one of my ancestors from long time ago, my great-grand father, the late King Mirrick was known to be the most powerful fairy of all time.

     The other kingdoms are

Aeras Kingdom, Exousia Kingdom,

Elpizo Kingdom, Kingdom of Katharos, Eirini Kingdom, and the Kingdom of Skotadi that became a dark realm.

"I think one week is enough for Malia to train, we need to go to the academy soon, since classes will start next week." Said Nick.

"Yes! Definitely, judging by her ability to learn, she is a fast learner, anyway, we will make sure that one of us is her classmate in every subject." Prince Hale agreed with Nick.

"Are you an old student at the Academy?" I asked them both.

They both shake their heads.

"The students of Erthesia Academy are Elite, there are schools in every kingdom. For those who wants to enhance or harness their power, they enroll at Erthesia Academy. All students of Erthesia are the cream of the crop." Nick told me while pacing back and forth in front of us.

"The kingdoms choose students who have potentials to be sent to Erthesia Academy. Each kingdom holds a tournament every year, candidates are chosen by winning a competition, but all members of the royal family are entitled to study, or has the right to enroll at Erthesia, if we want too." Prince Hale said smiling at me.
