Lunch with the investors

Both of them went inside and proceeded towards the private dining area on the first floor. This was familiar to him. So, he wasn't worried about anything. He doesn't know who these important people but he at least knew what kind of people they are.

He didn't care too much about this meeting. The only thing in his mind is the reward from the system. But, since he was already here, he would try his best

After waiting for like 15 minutes, CEO Hwang finally arrived but with three more people. To his surprise, along with a Japanese investor, there was also a Chinese. Both of them are in the middle ages. The last one is a Korean, who is probably their interpreter.

And the three of them appeared to be respectful towards the Japanese fellow.

But, why a Japanese restaurant? Perhaps, this Japanese fellow is a bigger investor?

Either way, Jun found the situation so funny. A Korean, Chinese, and Japanese are having lunch together when each nation has a complex history with the other two. Of course, in the business world, nationality wouldn't matter. Only money matters. He knows that too.

"Sung Jun-ssi, meet Zhang Guiping, the chairman of Suning Universal." CEO Hwang introduced the first guest.

Jun never heard of the company name. He greeted politely with a bow and surprised the others a little bit, "Hello, nice to meet you, Chairman Zhang."

A trace of surprise appeared on Chairman Zhang but since it is just a greeting, he didn't think much and just gave empty praise, "Your pronunciation is good."

The interpreter named Chu Myung-ki was about to translate his words.

But before he did that, Jun responded in mandarin once again with a smile on his face, "Thank you for the praise, Chairman Zhang. It's only been a couple of months since I started learning the language. This is the first time I spoke with someone else too. I'm not sure how good I am."

If earlier words indicated he was just trying to impress them, the last reply, which was very fluent than even most mainlanders made Zhang Guiping realize that Jun was indeed great at speaking their language. Naturally, he was proud that a Korean artist learned mandarin. But, what surprised him the most is that Jun claimed to have learned it for only a couple of months.

Zhang Guiping turned towards the CEO of Genesis and said, "CEO Hwang never mentioned that Mr. Han is good at Chinese too."

As the interpreter translated it to her, CEO Hwang let out an awkward smile and answered with quick thinking, "He debuted just an hour ago. So, we thought we will reveal his talents gradually."

The interpreter translated it back to the Chinese investor.

Then, CEO Hwang introduced the Japanese, who is a representative of a shark, one can say. It was only after he heard his background did Jun realized why they have chosen a Japanese restaurant.

"This is Yukawa Saburo, an executive director at Softbank Group Corp."

It's a 100 billion-dollar company in this world at the current time, almost 60 times that of Genesis Entertainment. This Japanese conglomerate is considered a behemoth.

So, that explains CEO Hwang and Chairman Zhang's respectful behavior towards Yukawa Saburo when they walked together, even though the latter is only an executive director and the former two were CEOs.

Nevertheless, in Jun's eyes, both of them have the same status, nothing but foreign investors.

Just like with the other person, Jun greeted the executive director in Japanese. He doesn't seem to be surprised at all. Since it wasn't a secret that Jun is fluent in Japanese and he would often show off his skills in language classes, maybe, had already heard from the CEO.

He directly commented in Japanese, "Mr. Han doesn't need any interpreters, I guess."

Jun nodded and spoke calmly with politeness, "Yes, Executive director Yuwaka-san. I have been learning Japanese for a long time now. But, our CEO-nim might need it."

As Yukawa Saburo let out a small laugh, CEO Hwang said to Jun, "SungJun-ssi, it's better if you talk in Korean and let out interpreter do his job. Or else, it will be hard for me to know what you are talking about."

Jun wanted to ask whether everyone can just speak in English but in the end, he refrained from speaking his opinion and quietly nodded. Perhaps, if it is YG, he would have been a bit free to ask it.

Meanwhile, the interpreter let out a sigh of relief. After all, he was getting hefty pay to translate every sentence into different languages.

Everyone took a seat. Jun, Manager Seon, and CEO Hwang sat on one side and the remaining ones on the other side.

Jun expected to be asked to tell about himself or anything similar. But, after the introductions, he never got an opportunity to even talk.

Those three just talked between themselves through the interpreter. He and manager Seon silently ate their food.

As he feared, sushi was also served but the manager saved him by eating his portion too when requested by Jun as he doesn't like raw fish or live octopus. Thankfully, the others were so busy with their discussion regarding some business expansion that they didn't even notice Jun.

An hour later, Jun and manager Seon parted ways with the CEO and return to the dorm. On the way, Jun talked with the manager regarding this lunch meeting.

Manager Seon explained, "It was just for formality so that those two will atleast know your face. In the end, you are just a rookie and they constantly meet celebrities. So, it's natural that they would ignore you.

If you become big in the near future, then, you might have to attend such meetings several times, although they would be more active in interacting with you, then. Well, atleast, you not only made a good impression on them but even surprised CEO-nim. That's a good thing."

Jun just smiled in response and stared at his mobile phone to search for this Suning Universal.

"I see. These guys invested in several companies too and only have a tiny share in our agency. Then, who is the main shareholder apart from YG and the current CEO."

Jun went on to search about a few things and finally, realization dawned upon him. "No wonder I got an LG V30 as a joining present. I thought was just a tie-up like they were sponsoring some idol group or a celebrity or made some sort of investment in a subsidiary. But, it seemed, in this world, LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics were competitors in Korean entertainment too. One holds 19% shares in Genesis and the other holds 32% in ZC, eh. Both of them are quite big players."

When he realized that they weren't even important investors, Jun no longer cared about the matter and put on headphones to listen to some songs.

After returning to the dorm, he has received warm applause from his housemates who returned from the dance practice. Jun thanked them and directly went to his room to have a short nap.

He barely slept for a little more than 90 minutes before Manager Seon woke up him. After having a quick brushing to remove bad breath and then, have a shower, he left the dorm at 5 o'clock.

Within half an hour, they reached the location where the debut live concert is going to take place, the Gyeyang gymnasium.
