Preparing for Monsters Invasion Alone

Noah's words were calm, he didn't look a bit more panicked. The soldier was dumbfounded seeing the nonchalant appearance of Noah.

"So, should we request help from the capital?'

"No!" Noah slightly raised his voice.

"Huh?" This time the soldier was less confused and more shocked.

'How can I let go of this precious opportunity?!' Noah knew all the monsters contained a special core called magic cores. These cores could be used for varieties of purposes from the production of weapons, armor, and items to magical appliances such as magical showers, magical fire burners, etc.

Being a poor town, these areas didn't even consist of a single magic item.

While Noah had no idea how these cores are used, Noah knew one thing for sure.

'These cores surely will sell for a lot amount of money.'

He was ready to face this alone if he had to. He knew he had much mana, and he had more than 2 days to prepare. He could just learn many battle spells.

Simple spells weren't that hard to learn and were easy to get used to. The only drawback was they were quite weak.

"Lord, then how should we face the monster invasion? Should we run?"

"No, I have my arrangement, just find a place for the townsfolk to retreat, I will arrange things to deal with the monster invasion."

"Ok." Confused and shocked, the soldiers could only walk with hundreds of doubts buried inside his chest.

As the room went empty, Noah started to learn some spells.

First, he learned simple spells, such as bubble attacks, and wall of fire.

He then looked at complex spells. He decided to learn tier 3 and 4 spells. If he could and have time, he will learn tier 5 spells too.

In these stacks of spells, he also decided to learn movement, defense, and other buffs' magic. But these magic spells would be simple.

Previously, he just wanted to slowly learn the spells. But, now it seems he had to fasten his pace.

He took more than five books and walked to the barren lands.

The monsters were marching, and some cities would be notified after some days, as communication in this world is full of loopholes.

He arrived at that barren land. The dense sand and rocks came into his view. The scorching sun in the sky made it feel like he was standing in the middle of the Sahara desert.

"First, bubble attack."

The bubble attack had simple use. It would create bubbles that would trap monsters. The bubble would blast, but there was a trick. Except for pushing the force in different directions, the force from the explosion would all push inside the bubble, making it feel like walls were crushing them from all directions.

But this spell had many drawbacks. Its force isn't enough to kill the strong monster. At most, it could kill goblins. The orcs and wolves may barely get any damage.

But, it could be useful.

The learning of this skill took some time.

First, this spell required 102 mana lines to form one branch. The branch would be in the shape of a sphere. The branch would be all closely pack and would all pour mana on their lines.

The lines will emit mana outside and surround the empty holes created on a sphere. Like how water bubbles release from the net, the bubble would release from this mana net and would attack the nearest enemy.

Its other drawback was, that it would attack foes and allies indiscriminately as it would suck the monster on contact, and one could also easily avoid it or destroy it with long-range weapons or simple spells.

After casting it 20 times, Noah felt like he had gotten used to this spell. Getting used means, putting the magic circle in the brain. It's an automatic process since mana would transfer the information.

So, it needs to be used constantly for mana to provide information at a better rate.

"This spell is good. Let's try another spell."

Noah looked at the books and took the ice element spell.

"Wall of fire."

It had a simple purpose. It would create a wall of fire. The wall would be of fire and the wall could be moved at the caster's will.

So, the fire could engulf monsters on fire while moving around. Its drawback is, that it is pretty useless under the enemy with fire resistance, water or ice could put the fire off and it required a stable flow of mana without any disruption.

The way to cast this mana was a little complex. It required 200 mana lines to form one branch. The branch had to be in the shape of fire. It needed two branches with different shapes. One branch needs to have the shape of fire, and another the shape of a square. After that, the big mana circle would glow red.

The fire would leak from the circle and will accumulate in a place. It would take the shape of a wall and could be charged at the enemies.

After many trials and errors, Noah perfected these two spells first.

His gaze felt at a slightly complex spell.
