Chapter 40: A Proper Date Finale
I guided Aren to a popular restaurant within the city. I’ve had my eye on the place ever since Sara mentioned it. It’s easy to spot due to looking like a normal bakery but with gold and white instead of brown and white.
Luckily, the place wasn’t too packed today. Usually, the place is filled with people savoring its sweet delights.
“The Noble Corner?” Aren asked.
“Of course! After everything I’ve been through, I think I finally earned my cheat day.
In front of me is a delicious-looking cake. White frosting covering, strawberries on top, and a subtle magical glow. My mouth is practically watering.
“You don’t want anything Aren?”
“I don’t have a sweet tooth like you and Sara. I’m fine with the glass of water for now.”
“Okay, more for me then.”
I dig into the cake and I can confirm that this is too die for. It’s supremely soft and the frosting gives it that sweet kick. But it fills more than just my desire for sweets.
