A lady in need

A handsome young man could be seen standing in front of a small hotel, somewhere pretty far from the main city of Solana. The place appeared to be very quiet and isolated but there was something that pulled William to this place and he knew that his guts were never going to betray him.

"Interesting, let's see what we got here," William whispered as he placed his long silver hair, that were covering his left eye, behind his ear. A moment later, he entered the hotel with a beautiful smile on his face.

As expected, when William entered that place, no one could be seen there and the whole place was empty. The counter was empty too but the place was quite spacious. Various neat and clean tables and chairs could be seen arranged in an orderly manner. The place was looking very well managed.

"This place is quite good and well-maintained compared to other places that I saw on my way here. On top of that, the aroma that brought me here is out of the world, I wonder why no one is here. Is there a reason why no one is hanging around here? It seems like this place is shunned by the whole city." William muttered and his gaze went in a particular direction of the hotel as he heard some humming in a feminine voice.

He started walking in that direction and soon, entered the kitchen area that was situated next to the main area of the building. The moment William entered the kitchen, a sweet and calm voice rang into his ears. A woman could be seen cooking at the food station. She was deeply involved in cooking while humming, she didn't notice William entering the kitchen.

William remained calm and stood there looking at her from behind for a while. Then, as he took his first step towards her, the woman came to her senses and noticed that someone had entered the kitchen. However, she didn't turn back to look who it was.

"Hey kiddo, you are here, the food is almost ready. Now that you are here, help your mommy a little. C'mon bring that serving bowl over here," that woman said.

Hearing what she said, William tilted his head and his gaze landed on the bowl sitting next to him on the other counter. William smiled as he grabbed that bowl and approached the woman.

"Here you go," He whispered in a calm voice.

The moment that woman heard that voice, she became surprised and stopped working. As she turned her head to look, her heart nearly skipped a beat. She saw a handsome young man standing behind her with deep blue eyes and silver hair. Her heart started beating faster after noticing William.

At the same time, William was looking at her with a calm gaze. The woman had a beautiful milky white face and deep-brown eyes that were looking at him without blinking.

"Are you all right?" William asked.

The moment she heard William's voice, she come to her senses and nodded her head in response. Hints of redness could be seen on her face as she looked at William. She had never seen someone as handsome as William. He had a unique eye and hair color, very different from the locals.

"I am ok, I thought it was my daughter, I mistook you for her." She answered in a trembling voice.

William shook his head and smiled, "It's ok, that was my fault. I should have stayed outside but no one was there, and when I smelled something good, I couldn't hold myself and directly came here instead." William told the woman who looked not more than twenty-five-year-old.

After listening to William, her face became even more flushed.

"You are here for the food?" She asked as she looked at him with a surprised gaze. William nodded his head in response.

"Yes, I am very hungry, I haven't eaten anything for a very very long time." He replied calmly.

Upon hearing William's words, a pure smile appeared on her beautiful face. But a moment later, that smile disappeared.

William noticed these sudden changes in her facial expressions and realized that there was something going on here that he was not aware of, but he remained calm as usual and waited for the woman's response.

"You are new here?" she asked.

"Yes, I am new here, my name is William," William answered in a calm voice.

After hearing his answer, she took a deep sigh and a bitter smile appeared on her face.

"You shouldn't be here, if anyone found out that you are here to eat, they are going to harm you. Those people are very dangerous and I don't want you to get hurt just because you are seen associating with me. You know, there are lots of food stalls out there around the main city. You can go there and have a proper dinner without any worry." The woman said as she looked at William with a sad expression.

Hearing that someone could harm him, a smile appeared on William's face, "I don't think there is anybody inside this city who can harm me. I know there are lots of food stalls and so-called hotels here, but I want to eat here. Can you please bring me some good food, I am really hungry?" William said with a smile and started walking into the main dining area. But after taking a few steps, he halted his movement and slightly turned his head to ask that woman,

"May I know what your name is, my lady?"

"It's Veronica."

"Veronica huh, your name is gorgeous, just like you," William whispered and the next moment, he left the kitchen, leaving a dazed Veronica with a slightly red face.
