After two hours in the car, they arrived at the airport.

"Wait I don't have any of my stuff", Brae said.

Jace turned to her and smiled, "Don't worry Anne already sent them over when we were at the café."

"So you meant to say that Anne broke into my apartment as soon I left, right? Because I don't remember giving anyone permission to go in."

She was so embarrassed. Her apartment was a pigsty. Brae couldn't even imagine looking Anne in the face when she meets her again.

She glared at Jace and he just smiled again.

"If I'm gonna be with you, you're gonna have to respect my privacy and-" before she could even continue Jace interrupted.

"Of course," he agreed, "my fiance deserves all the respect in the world", he interrupted.

'Ha, respect my privacy but can't even respect me enough to let me finish talking?'

Jace knew he had to cut her off earlier or her demands would get more serious.

It was a long drive back to MJ city. Outside the car, the sky was gradually darkening.

The clouds were gathering and the wind grew harsh.

It was more quiet than usual due to the lack of traffic and Brae had a bad feeling in her gut.

Jace was looking on ahead, thinking.

Due to several construction sites on their way to Jaces house, the journey took two hours longer than expected.

The driver slowed down and Brae turned her head to the front. They had arrived.

The driver drove towards the gate and confirmed his identity with the gatekeeper.

The gatekeeper knew it was just formality since he's been waiting for them to get back since the day before.

He didn't have much to do in his job since there wasn't much activity in the residence, not much people came to the house.

He squinted to see inside the car as it drove by. The silhouettes were one of a man and woman. The boss was a very territorial man so he felt kinda bad for the lady

According to the rumours the last lady he'd been with was constantly under surveillance. So much so that she ran away.
