Chapter 8

Jack and the rest were enjoying their time on the beach. He was on the beach with Juniper, sunbathing while the others enjoyed in the waters.

He enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the cool breeze from the sea.

He closed his eyes and relaxed his body when he heard someone say "Wow, it really is Jack."

Jack sighed and revived his sunglasses as he got up. Before him stood a woman with pink hair tied to a ponytail and curls on her shoulders, in a swimsuit.

Her skin was slightly tanned, which was due to the climate of the region. She moved her red shaded sunglasses down and said "I never expected to run into the most famous actor on the beach."

Jack wasn't happy being interrupted by someone, but he still smiled at her. Juniper looked at her and asked Jack "Jack, do you know her?"

Then the stranger walked upto Juniper and said "Aren't you Juniper, you must be Jack's girlfriend. I am Malva, a reporter. I was on a vacation when I spotted Jack."

Jack stopped her and said "First, she isn't my girlfriend, she is my mom. Second, you are interrupting my relaxation time. So, if we can do this at another time and place, I would appreciate it."

Although his words were delivered in a kind manner, Malva understood that he was annoyed at her. So she said "Well then, can I have a few minutes with you in the bar nearby. I heard they serve very good drinks."

Jack nodded his head and went back to his sunbathing. Fennel and the others were done playing and they were completely tired.

Jack took them for lunch and after they finished eating the traditional dishes of the region, they all say outside a cafe and were chatting about things.

Jack then remembered something and asked Juniper "Mom, have you heard of 'Rare Candy'?"

Burnet, Fennel and Juniper immediately turned to Jack. Juniper asked "Jack, where did you hear about it?"

"I was just browsing the internet for ideas for my next movie when I read about this. I read that it was some medicine that made a Pokemon permanently stronger." Jack replied.

Burnet then decided to explain Jack "Well, there were many studies on how to increase the power of a Pokemon before and a mad scientist ended up developing the medicine which would permanently increase the power of a Pokemon.

It would have been one of the great invention of all time and would change the whole world, but the materials needed to make them were rare and could only be produced in limited quantities.

Still, the medicine, which was made like a candy, spread throughout the world for a while until everyone started to notice the side effects of the medicine.

You see, the feeling of growing strong suddenly was an addictive feeling for Pokemon and before long, they started wanting more. Since they can't be mass produced, everyone couldn't supply Rare Candies to their Pokemon and the Pokemon started rebelling.

They violently attacking their masters. Eventually, the medicine was banned and the mad scientist died in the jail. There are a few rare Candies in the Balck market, but I advise you to not use them even if you happen to get your hands on one."

Jack agreed and leaned back on his chair, stretching his back. "Wow, the real world of Pokemon sure is different from the one in games and shows." Jack said in his head.

The ladies continued their talk about all the shops they decided to visit that day.

Jack decided to escape, as their shopping never ended quickly. He walked to a bench in a park and was sipping his coke occassionally while he was browsing something in his hologram watch.

He then closed the watch and placed the can of come beside him. He brought out the Rare Candy from his bag, which he still didn't have.

He just had to think of the item and it would appear in his hands out of thin air. He looked at the candy in his hand which was wrapped in a blew wrap. He thought to himself "So, should I use this on the Pokemon I will get in the future, or use it on myself. After listening to Burnet's explanation, both seem to be a bad decision."

He sighed as he didn't like, one of the rarest items in the game going to waste like that, as he had 30 of them.

Rare Candy was an item that would increase the level of any Pokemon by one.

He opened the wrapper and looked at the white orange candy in the wrapper.

He looked at it and wondered "It looks just like a normal candy. What was going on in his head when he was making this?"

When was thinking about the rare Candy, he felt something move near him and he looked down, only to find the candy missing. This is the result of having too much strength but no training.

He looked around and found a black cat, with red stripes and red whiskers, to his right, which had something in its mouth. He could tell that it was the rare Candy. He reached out his hand to stop it from swallowing it, but stopped halfway, as he was curious as to whether the stories about the Rare Candy were true or not.

The Pokemon that was before him was Litten, one of the starter Pokemon in the game. As soon as Litten swallowed the rare candy, it opened its eyes wide and had a strange reaction.

It fell on the bench and was rolling on the bench with a pained expression. Jack picked it up and petted it slowly. As he was patting it, he noticed that it was wounded in many places.

Litten calmed down after a while and it felt new. It moved it's paws and Jack could notice the happy behaviour of the cat.

It then looked at Jack and said "Do you have more?~gar"

Jack was shocked when he heard that. He couldn't believe his ears, so he said "Repeat what you just said." and this managed to surprise Litten.

Litten asked "How am I able to understand what you are saying? And how are you able to understand what I am saying?~gar"

Jack slapped himself to check if he was still awake and sane. It took both of them one hour to organize their thoughts.

Jack went through everything that happened till then and concluded that the new stat 'Physique' was the cause of this change, as neither he nor Courtney could understand Pokemon language even after the experiment.

Litten then looked at Jack and asked "I don't care about this now. Do you have more of those disgusting things with you?"

"Yes, but why do you need them?" Jack asked in return.

Litten glared at a direction and said "I need revenge on a Pokemon that stole my house. It appeared out of nowhere and beat me out of my home."

"Although I have more, they costed a lot. If you want a new house, why don't you come with me?" Jack offered and Litten refused saying "Who cares about that little box? I want revenge. I just want to see him best up like how I was beaten up."

Jack then suggested "If I help you defeat that Pokemon, would you become my Pokemon?"

Litten thought for a while and Jack's new offer solved all its problems. So it agreed and asked Jack to follow it as it lead the way between many houses.

Finally, they arrived at an empty ground that had garbage at some places. Litten pointed towards a broken washing machine.

As they got closer, the Pokemon inside the washing machine was alerted by their footsteps and it jumped out.

Jack looked at the Pokemon and smiled as he looked at it. It was an electric type mystic Pokemon of Alola region, Zeraora.

Zeraora looked at Jack and then at Litten. He said to Litten "Are you back for more weakling?"

"Aren't you a little too rude, bullying a Pokemon weaker than you?" Jack said and it managed to surprise Zeraora.

That surprise didn't last long, as it had seen much more weird things that it didn't manage to surprise Zeraora for long.

It replied " All those talks don't matter in real life. You either grow stronger and win what you want or surrender to those stronger than you and loose what you have."

Zeraora was getting emotional and Jack wasn't interested in its story. So, he said "Enough talk. You said so yourself that the winner decides everything. Let's fight then, if you loose, you have to become my Pokemon."

"What of you loose?" Zeraora asked and he replied "You can ask anything. I am quite famous among humans. So, if it is something that is possible, it will be done."

Zeraora hit the jackpot. He was just searching for a way back home and he found someone who could help him return.

He wasn't going to waste the opportunity. Zeraora rubbed it's fists against each other, producing some sparks.

Zeraora waited for Jack to bring out his Pokemon but surprisingly, he just stood there. Zeraora asked "What are you doing? Bring out your Pokemon."

Then Jack replied "I think you misunderstood. The fight is between you and me." and released a shadow ball towards Zeraora.

Zeraora jumped to the side and dodged the attack while still shocked as to how a human could use Pokemon moves.

Zeraora was trained in Pokemon battles. He immediately returned back to his senses and jumped at Jack, without holding back.

When he got close, he moved his fists rapidly, aiming at Jack. It was the move "Close combat"

Jack also tried to copy that move. Even though he had the strength and speed required to easily overpower Zeraora, he lacked the training to do so.

He couldn't follow up with Zeraora, so while he blocked some punches, he did receive the rest.

After exchanging a few punches, Zeraora jumped back and looked at Jack. It decided to finish the match in one go and placed one palm on the other.

Its claws started glowing and sparks started forming around its fists.

He had seen the move in the game and was familiar with it. It is Zeraora's signature move 'Plasma Fists'.

He immediately used Psychic and lifted it above the ground, so that he wouldn't be able to use the move.

Zeraora sneered as he floated above the ground. Zeraora had been in many battles and was quite experienced. Signature moves are moves made up by the Pokemon and only that Pokemon can learn it.

Zeraora was already in a situation similar to this and made a move to counter this. He moved his hands, while struggling to move them against the Psychic.

When he finished moving his claws, white slashes came out of its claws and headed towards Jack.

Zeraora said while laughing "How do you like this? I made this move to fight powers such as these."

Zeraora just made a new move from the plasma fists. Since it is in the shape of claws, Jack decided to name it "Plasma claws"

Jack was in a situation to pick names as he also predicted this move, as he himself had done it in the past.

The system prevented Jack from using two moves at once, so he cancelled psychic for a split second and used shadow claw, before using the Psychic again.

The shadow claws clashed with Zeraora's plasma claws and they both negated each other.

The clash resulted in a tiny explosion and Jack used the explosion as a cover to cancel his Psychic again and bring out multiple shadow balls.

Zeraora also didn't miss the brief second he was freed and used another plasma claws at Jack.

When the smoke from the explosion cleared, Zeraora saw numerous shadow balls and tried to use his only other non combat move, Thunderbolt.

The thunderbolt managed to hit Jack while the shadow balls hit Zeraora.

There was an explosion near Zeraora and it's body fell from the sky as Jack also was injured. He didn't get hit by any move till then and he couldn't bear the pain he felt.

Zeraora's body fell to the ground and Jack walked up to it. He looked at the unconscious Zeraora and said "Now, it's time to fullfill your promise." and took out a pokeball.
