Chapter 60

The sun had already set when they arrived at the bustling Pokemon Center in the heart of the Fennel Valley. The girls were awed by how massive the octagonal building was. It was three stories tall and had a crystalline finish to it that made it sparkle even at night. It was arguably the most beautiful Pokemon Center they had ever seen.

Aizen had waited patiently for the last two hours for the moment Ryan had to recall his Malamar inside the Pokeball. He could not enter the building with an A-Class threat to the public. And now he could leave the girls and prepare to deal with the boy.

"I will go hand in my Pokemon and book our room, you guys can look around and then meet me at the Trading Center." Aizen excused himself and left them to explore the place.

Ryan seemed impatient when nearly half an hour passed. The girls were happily exploring the place, interested in nearly all the facilities that were present inside the Center, but what awed them was the beautiful Contest Hall that was the star of this place. It was massive, equipped with the latest technology, and could house an audience of ten thousand. They happily spent the time there, checking out the stands and the stage. There were already some Trainers mock duelling in the Arena, and the way they were making their Pokemon perform the moves showed that they were aspiring Coordinators.

When Ryan and the girls finally arrived at the Trading Center, Aizen was standing there with Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny.

The moment the boy saw Jenny, his heart raced in anxiousness. He instinctively turned to look around the hall, and to his relief, there were no other constables than the usual Guards of the Trading Center.

"Mr. Ryan, you are requested to show me your Trainer's License, please." Officer Jenny stepped forward and asked.

"May I ask why, Officer?" Ryan stayed calm and asked.

"We need to run a check on your recent Trade Transactions and the log of your Pokemon Center Check-Ins." She honestly answered. "You are suspected of foul Transactions and using your Pokemon to influence other people."

His heart tightened when he heard that but did not show any change in his expression.

"If I am not wrong, I am well within my rights to refuse your request since you appear to have no warrant for what you have requested. And I can refuse to cooperate as long as you have no evidence on the suspected felony." He confidently answered.

His words brought a smirk to Jenny's face.

"Usually that would have been the case, Mr. Ryan, but I do have an Official Warrant to investigate our suspicions." She activated the watch on her wrist and a holographic Warrant appeared before the blue-haired boy. "Now then, please hand over your PokeDex."

Ryan tried to reach for his Pokeballs, but Jenny pulled out a Taser and threateningly pointed it at him.

"You have been warned to cooperate with the investigation, any retaliation would result in extra charges against you." She warned.

The blue-haired boy glared at Aizen and gritted his teeth before taking out his PokeDex and handing it over to Officer Jenny.

"What's going on?" Leaf worriedly whispered to her friends.

"You still don't realise it?" Misty lightly smiled at her when the hazel-eyed girl shook her head in confusion. "Well, Ryan here is not a good person. We are not sure about his intentions, but they must not be good since he sent his Shiftry to spy on us while you were headed in the wrong direction with him." She spoke in a low voice.

"His Malamar tried to influence us to like his Trainer. And I am pretty sure it influenced your mind back in the forest that you travelled away from the campsite with a stranger that you just met." Anira sternly looked at her. "Tell us why did you not have any of your Pokemon out with you when we arrived. You were still inside the forest. Would you really trust a stranger with your safety? A stranger who had a Malamar out with him?"

Leaf took a moment to digest the information and then fear struck her heart. Realisation after realisation hit her, and she felt worse.

"I..."

Anira squeezed her hand comfortingly.

"It's okay. Be careful next time." She assured her.

"As per the logs on your Pokedex, you registered a Deerling two weeks ago." Officer Jenny looked at the blue-haired boy and raised her brow. "I have been informed that you claimed to have owned it for a few months."

"Alright, I lied. But that is not a crime!" Ryan impulsively shouted at her.

"You acquired a variety of Pokemon, 8 to be exact, in the last few months, that are native to other regions. But your Pokemon Center Check-Ins show that you have not left Kanto Region in over a year." She smirked at him. "There is no record of official trades for these Pokémon. And your Official Trading record shows that you have been unusually lucky with these Trades."

After saying that, she gestured to the Guards of the Trading Center to approach and then pulled out handcuffs from her belt.

"You are under arrest over the suspicious involvement with Black Market."

"You can't do that!" Ryan shouted at her and his eyes seethed with rage. He swiftly pulled off a Pokeball from his belt, but before he could activate it, he felt something poke the back of his neck, and then he was frozen in place before losing consciousness.

"He's unconscious." Anira retracted her finger and smiled at Officer Jenny as the blue-haired boy fell on the ground like a sack.

Aizen stepped forward before the constables could, and then lifted the unconscious boy.

"Please, lead the way." He smiled at the two constables who turned to look at Officer Jenny for her confirmation.

"Go on, let Mr. Aizen escort him to the Cell." She nodded to them.

The two constables took off the belt of Pokeballs that Ryan was wearing before leading the way to the Cell where he would be temporarily kept.

Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy followed after them but did not allow the girls to come along.

"Be careful." Nurse Joy worriedly spoke.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Officer Jenny seemed anxious. "If you do this, I will have you logged in to the Official Investigation, and in case you don't find anything useful concerning the charges against him, you could fall in some serious trouble." She warned Aizen who had his Mega Metagross out.

"I am sure." Aizen simply nodded to her and then gestured for Dexter to go on with the Mind Reading.

Nurse Joy's Alakazam observed the entire process for any foul play as required by standard procedure. It shared a temporary mental link with Mega Metagross to see exactly what it was seeing inside the boy's mind.

It took nearly half an hour for Dexter to go through the memories of Ryan without damaging his brain. And then Aizen spent the next half hour going through the memories Dexter shared with him.

Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy were scared when they suddenly saw his eyes glow in violet light. He was giving a death glare to the unconscious boy that sent chills up their spine.

"What did you find?" Jenny asked.

"You need to make a new charge sheet. He is not only involved with Black Market but is directly linked to a Poaching Organization. He has also made his Dark Type Pokemon kill some wild Pokémon for sport." He sternly said but his eyes did not leave the boy. "He has been using his Malamar to con people in Trades and making them do some illegal things for him, and..." He clenched his fist. "He has raped seven girls after using Malamar to hypnotise them and make them believe that they desired it. He planned to do the same with Leaf after leading her a fair distance away from us."

Nurse Joy seemed rattled by the revelation and covered her mouth with her hand while her eyes stayed widened in shock.

Jenny managed to recover her wits after a few seconds as she was trained to deal with such situations, but her burning rage was bright in her eyes. As a woman, she loathed the act of rape to the core of her being.

Aizen regretted not dealing with the boy inside the woods. But he knew that with the charges against him, Ryan would not see the light of the day again in his life. Though he would have preferred killing such people over imprisoning them, he knew that even he couldn't blatantly take the law into his hands.

"I will take my leave." He recalled Dexter inside the Pokeball and left the room.

A part of him dreaded what could have happened if Ryan had not sent Shiftry to keep a watch on them. Had he and Anira not discovered its presence, a terrible fate could have befallen Leaf. He felt sickened just by the thought of it.

"Aizen!" Misty called out to him with a bright smile.

He managed to mask his emotions and smiled at her, but Anira had already caught on to his dread.

"What are the charges against him?" She seriously asked as she held Leaf's hand.

"Link to Black Market and Poachers, and he has also been involved in influencing Trainers into unfair Trades. The Deerling he had on him was caught by Poachers when it was a couple of weeks old. And Ryan had it with the intention of conning people of some money for it." He revealed to them.

"That's it?" Anira seriously looked him in the eyes.

"Yes, that's it." He nodded to her.

The younger Orayen could sense that he was lying, but she decided to not pry into it. Whatever Aizen was not revealing to them was for the best. And she could already guess what it was.

"I am really hungry." He smiled at the girls before gently caressing the head of Leaf, who had her eyes lowered. "Let's see how good the food here is." He pulled her chin up and looked her in the eyes.

Leaf blushed a little and then happily nodded to him.

"Let's go!" Misty grabbed them and led them to the restaurant inside the Center.
