Pokemon Saga: Journey of a Lifetime Ch9

Ryan woke up as sunlight shined upon his eyes. He looked at the time: 7 AM, He must have been severely fatigued to sleep this much. He felt that something that will anger him will happen today. Pikachu was sleeping curled beside him. It was an adorable sight. He slowly touched Pikachu's fur and said "Pikachu its time to wake up." "Five more minutes" He mumbled.

"Hmm should I pore cold water on you?" Ryan whispered to himself but Pikachu's ear caught it and said "All right, All right I'll wake up". "You could have let me sleep 5 more minutes" Pikachu said yawning. "Last time I did that you didn't wake up for an hour." pointed out Ryan.

As they went out everyone stared at Ryan, some with fear, some with respect, some with awe. Whispers were going on "He killed a person by stabbing him" "But didn't they had it coming?" "His pokemon electrocuted and killed 5 people".

'Its just rumor mill' thought Ryan. He took the parcel which was placed outside and opened it. It had Team Rocket Soldier uniform. He put it on and walked out. Recruits were bewildered that he has become an member of Team Rocket. They knew that they can't mess with him because of the hierarchy. The hierarchy was as follows:

Leader: The one who runs team rocket and deals with resources and other things

Vice Leader: The one who has been groomed to take the mantel of Leader. Helps the Leader with various things

Head Executive: Direct subordinates of the Leader and looks over the works of Executives

Executive: Direct Subordinates of Vice Leader they take works that are difficult for the ranks before them. They also look over the works of Elite Captains, Captains, Elite Soldiers, Soldiers. They sometime act as Supervisors for Team Rocket Entrance Exam (TREE)

Elite Captain: Subordinates of Executives who take dangerous missions and assign missions to the ranks below them.

Captain: Veterans who take work from Elite Captain and does the failed work of Elite soldier and Soldiers.

Elite Soldier: Member/ Soldier who got promoted to this rank after showing some amount of promise

Soldier: The starting rank of all Team Rocket members. They are the fresh rookies who passed the Team Rocket Entrance Examinations

Recruits: People who come in the hopes of becoming an member of TR and get a Pokemon. Many of them often fails and become Team Rocket Pawns. The rate of which a recruit becomes a soldier varies but the average is 30%.

Team Rocket Pawns: The lowest of the low. They do menial works such as cleaning up the mess made by Team Rocket Soldier. They must get promoted to Knight, Bishop, Rook only then can they get chance to become recruits. If they fail again they will become a Team Rocket Pawn forever. The rate of which a Team Rocket Pawn becomes an Team Rocket Soldier is 2%.

As he headed for the training facility an TR (Team Rocket) soldier blocked him and told as he glared at him "Lady Lillian wants to meet you in her office". 'Is he one of those people who simp for their superiors even if they get thrashed by them?' Ryan saw that the soldier was glaring at him and asked himself as he left towards Lillian's room. As he knocked he heard an "Enter".

When he entered he saw an plump woman with flaming red hair, her neck was so pudgy that it seemed like her neck and body had become one. Another one was an Male remarkably similar to Kenneth, he was so fat that he looked like a human Wailmer. It was a wonder how his legs withstood his weight. The man was red in the face indicating anger.

"So this is the M****** F***** who killed my son? You son of a B***h." he started to insult Ryan in most creative ways that would make Arcueus puke. But when the subject of his grandmother figure who was the orphanage matron came, Murderous aura started to emanate from Ryan.

The male felt a chill going down his spine and stopped cursing Ryan as he saw the glowing eyes of Ryan which promised pain. Seeing her husband stopping the curses she thought he ran out of ideas and started to curse Ryan's pokemon. Before you could say Pokemon, Ryan grabbed the woman's face and started to tighten his grip around it.

"AAAAAAAAAHHHH TAKE IT OFFFFF IT HURTSSSSSSS" she screamed at the top of her lungs but Ryan only tightened his grip more. "Stop it soldier Ryan" commanded Supervisor Lillian. Ryan immediately took his hand of from the woman. The woman started to rub her face while shouting "Execute him immediately he tried kill me!".

"Actually Mrs. Kentworth It is you who should be punished. You started to insult a Team Rocket Soldier." said Lillian. Both Mr. & Mrs. Kentworth paled. 'So they are Kenneth's parents huh, they have some nerve cursing my family' thought Ryan. Seeing Ryan, Lillian immediately knew the look. The look of vengeance, promising pain and death.

She immediately said "Half of your assets would be liquidated and would be divided between Team Rocket and Ryan". The started protesting saying "You can't do that we are the victims, moreover he killed our baby!"

"Baby? Oh you mean Kenneth, I didn't kill him, and for your information he is a human Walrein." Said Ryan. Lillian had to hide a snicker. Both Both Mr. & Mrs. Kentworth's faces went purple. "You insolent lit-" "Do you have evidence' asked Ryan. "You were the one who saw him last, hit him and made him bleed! My poor Kenny" Mrs. Kentworth lamented.

"When did he die?" asked Ryan. "Between 9 PM and 10:30 PM" "Then I wasn't the one who killed him" "Every culprit says that" shouted Mr. Kentworth. "I have an alibi. I went into the training gym at 8:30 PM and didn't come out till 11 PM Everyone saw me go into the training facility at 8:30." said Ryan.

Not able to refute his alibi the Kentworths could only send him resentful looks. Soon Ryan was said he can leave. It was after interrogating every recruit it was known that, Kenneth's own best friend killed him for money and tried to blame the murder on Ryan. Ryan knew the Kentworths will do something to him, So he kept himself vigilant. Just like Alastor Moody from Harry Potter says 'Constant Vigilance'!.
