Sprout Tower

{Ashtwo}

Ash was walking through the halls of this Team Rocket base; he was looking around at the locations and taking a look at the Egg stuff, too. He did his usual thing, but he didn't find one that specifically caught his eye. But he found a few that, maybe with a bit of work, would be good,

Either way, he took the rotten/unfertilized/dead Eggs, took their genetic points, and then fed them to Muk, and kept a few for himself for future switching.

But right now, he was walking into the base where he was instructed to go, today was the tryouts for those who would become grunts, he sighed as he thought this was literally pointless, this wasn't him being edgy or anything like that, this genuinely served no purpose.

He stepped up to a station and showed his card; then, he was given a crate of Pokeballs to go take over to the recruits. Obviously, he took his Pokedax and checked them all, but nothing special.

As he sighed, he felt a tug at his back, but he didn't look back he knew who it was, as two red eyes opened in his shadow, it was Gengar, the same one he had caught since he was going to train up Gastly, he might as well give Gengar to his other half.

Now, something interesting: remember how he could now tell the status of Pokemon when he scanned them well, when he checked Gengar, he saw something interesting.

[Gengar (M)]

[Nature: Naughty (+Atk, -SpD))]

[Ability: Cursed Body]

[Moves: Confuse Ray, Lick, Hypnosis, Hex, Curse, Ominous Wind, Night Shade, Psychic, Ice Punch, Shadow Ball]

[Condition - Emotionally unstable: Gengar has abandonment issues, and his pranks are a coping mechanism; until it is resolved, he will have a permanent -1 to all stats]

[Solution: Just be there for him]

He didn't realize that the seemingly useless thing he got could detect this, nor did he think it would affect his stats, but it's a good thing he did at least, he can at least solve it relatively easily, maybe, it's tough to say and remains to be seen.

Anyway, Ash doesn't put Gengar in his Pokeball and lets him follow around in his shadow, which surprisingly, even though he can't travel through his shadow to get to his other body, he can see Gengar in her side, and they can hand out.

He thought about it and thought that this one reward wasn't as useless, but not completely. It's not like something like this will come up again anytime soon.

Anyway, for now, he went to the room he was directed to, and as he walked in, he saw a good few People. He got a report that because Kantoians are much more….let's say…. unrespectful….to Johtonians, more of them join.

He looked over and saw that some of them weren't from Johto, It was no surprise to him, Enid was from Hoenn, and 'D' was supposedly from Unova, and no one even batted an eye.

He stepped up and put the crate down in front of a table, "Hello, everyone. I don't care about your names, nor do I want to tell you mine, everyone just calls me D."

He opened the crate, "All of you take a ball, each one of these has a freshly caught and untrained Pokemon. There are no takebacks, and there is no regret, what you get is what you keep."

People started coming up and taking one, one by one the crate started to empty out, and People had standard Rocket Pokemon, at one point, a strange long purple hair and a black dress, but he didn't pay too much attention to it, but he did make a mental note.

Some people were excited, and some were ready to run out of the room, but Ash stopped them, "All of you wait, you may all think you are part of Team Rocket now, but not yet, first you must claim that Pokemon you have gotten, once you do that you will be given an official place, those of you who don't will still have a chance you will just work as suppliers and porters until you prove yourself."

"You will all revere rooms and a place to train along with Rockets looking over you, tomorrow those of you that prove yourself will be placed in a tournament, and you will battle, those of you that get high will receive a personal reward from me, that is all you are dismissed."

After a day of going up to the Ski lounge and skiing well, they came down and finally checked in for the night in a hotel at Violet Cty. Ash healed his Pokemon with Yellow, but they still took them to the Pokemon center specifically for Machamp since his hand was still scared.

Machamp was fine, but he had to wear a glove on his hand for a while and probably couldn't fight for a bit. But he was fine it's not like he was fighting like he used to, now that he's strong, he isn't training every day, so Ash sent him over to Oak for a few days.

When the next morning came around, Ash was more or less confident that he could stand a chance against Falkner since now that he had actual Pokemon to train his weaker ones, he wasn't worried about that, but still, he preferred to have one more day of training.

And what better place than the Sprout Tower, he could go train there and beat up a bunch of Bellsprout.

As he was planning to go, he checked on Pikachu; he looked ok-ish, he didn't look like he was going to die. The important part was that it seemed like all the electricity he stole from Raikou was starting to do something to him.

He used the Pokedex on him to check

--

[Pikachu(M)]

[Condition: Overflowing with new electricity- until Pikachu integrates the new electricity into himself, or releases the electricity, he will be unable to do most normal things]

[Solution- Rest, stay away from electronics]

---

So Ash let him stay in the hotel to rest and integrate all that electricity into himself if he gains something, he might be able to do something he's been looking forward to trying, but that's a big if.

There was the chance that Pikachu's body rejected the electricity and he just got rid of it, either way, he'd be fine after today.

Once he put Pikachu in bed and tucked him in, he walked out to the common room where Brock, Misty, and Yellow were already eating breakfast, he walked over and joined them, "Pikachu will be fine,"

Yellow took a sigh of relief with Chuchu, "Thank Mew…"

"Pika…" Chuchu nodded

Brock was bottle feeding Bonsly as he held his Egg incubator on his lap, "So what's the plan for today, you gonna go challenge the Gym?"

"Nah, I wanted to go check out that tower we saw on our way here," Ash said casually as he ate a piece of toast.

"Really, huh, you don't want us to go with you, right? I wanted to do some sightseeing," Misty asked.

"Nah, I'm more than fine on going on my own. I'm probably going to train there with all the monks, so if you don't want to come, you're more than welcome,"

Misty nodded, and Yellow thought for a moment, thinking about what she wanted to do, "Ok, I guess…I'll stay then…"

Misty put her arm around Yellow, "Alright, girls trip!"

Brock chuckled and looked back at Ash, "You want me to go? I'm fine either way."

"Nah, besides, there aren't any girls….at least I don't think I could be wrong," Ash said, thinking but pushing that out of his head, "Anyway, the point is go ahead and do what you want, I'm sure you wanna go look at more girls,"

Brock smiled and slapped Ash on the back, "Alright, you got me there, but seriously, if you want me to, I'll go, so I'm just a call away,"

"Alright, I'll keep that in mind," Ash said, giving a light punch on Brock's shoulder,

A while later, Ash walked up to the tower alone. The tower was moving side to side, looking like it was going to fall any moment, but it never did or would, he knew this was a choice and not an accident, the consistent swaying helped with training and prevented it from being affected by natural disasters.

According to the game's lore, the legend is that the pillar was made from the stem of a giant Bellsprout. And since we know that there is at least one giant Gengar and Alakazam in the anime, it might be possible.

He started going up and entered the large tower and started climbing up, as he went up the stairs, six monks jumped out and landed in front of him, all with Bellsprout behind them.

"WE WELCOME YOU! I AM CHOW." the first said, followed by the rest

"NICO!"

"EDMONO!"

"JIN!"

"NEAL!"

"TROY!"

Chow walked up to Ash, "We accept all new monks, you shall from now on be called NANYANEN!"

"YES" x 5

"We shall start by shaving your hair, and we can commence your training!" Chow said as the Bellsprout behind him sharpened its leaf to shave Ash's head

"There is no need for that. I am here to train, but I have no intention of joining you all as a monk, and I like my hair and name as is,"

They all looked at each other and nodded, "If that is what you say, then we have no choice,"

They all got in a stance with their Bellsprout, "We will train you, and once you see how powerful our techniques are, you will join us as well, NANYANEN!"

In unison, they all commanded, "BELLSPROUT AERIAL FORMATION! [SWORDS DANCE!]"

The Bellsprout clasped their leaves together and started dancing around the area in a formation that mirrored a dance, and then their momentum caused them to start to fly into the air and circle the air.

All the while, the monks continued, "Now, Circle Attack ring! One and Two and Three and Four!"

They began flying through the air in a cyclone, ready to start the training.

Ash took off his jacket, grabbing a Pokeball, "Alright, let the training begin!"

—-

A while later, all the Bellsprout were defeated, and Ash returned his tired Pokemon after that training, "Not bad, you all certainly gave me a workout."

The monks didn't look shamed at all; this was something they honed themselves to be used to. Failure was part of their training, and they by no means regret what happened.

"I see you were quite the powerful trainer in your own right, dear NANYANEN. We accept your choice not to join us, but you are welcome to train with us as much as you like," Chow said

Ash smiled and pointed at himself with his thumb, "Thanks, and I'll take you up on that, but the name's Ash!"

"Very well, Ash, you may go farther up, there is another trainer there as well who came not long before you did,"

"Alright," Ash said as Chow led him up, "By the way, you wouldn't happen to know anyone named Jeanette?"

"Oh, you mean our pride and joy, Fisher! Yes, we are quite aware of her she is the heir of the Sprout Tower. However, she hasn't returned home since she left for her trip to Kanto, but I am certain she is doing something that makes her happy,"

"Yeah, me too…" Ash nodded along,

As they reached the top, Chow gave Ash a final warning that this was a place to train himself, not just his Pokemon, and he went back down.

Ash went to the last floor of the tower, when he entered, he saw that it was dimly lit and there were spots where traps were placed, as he started walking, a stick was shot out like a dart at him, but he caught it with his hand not even looking at it.

"Annoying place…" he mumbled as he kept dodging and blocking traps that came at him.

As he went higher up, he saw someone he recognized, with long red hair, two sharp, almost consistent, angry-looking eyes, and with a Totodile next to him. It was Silver.

Ash ran up and, with a jump, got behind him and slapped his back, "Yo Silver!"

Silver stumbled forward from the sudden slap on the back and almost fell over as he fixed himself, "Ash? What the heck are you doing here,"

"Same thing as you, my dude, training, and look at you, that Totodile looks about ready to evolve, Green would certainly be proud of how fast you are moving,"

Silver's face contorted into something that could almost be called a smirk, "Yeah, she helped me out a lot,"

"Where is she, by the way," Ash said as they started walking and talking

"Back in town, she didn't feel like coming since the monks didn't value worldly positions. Seems like a good repel for her," Silver tried joking

"Seems about right, that's just like her," Ash said as they reached the top suddenly, they felt a shift from each of their sides, spikes came out of the walls, they both dodged the spikes as they were now back to back before they could react a trap door opened up from above.

A large ball started rolling down, going straight for them, immediately, Ash went forward and grabbed it, stopping it, but was pushed back, "Sliver a little help!"

"On it!" Silver said as he pointed at the orb, "Totodile, use [Ice Punch]"

Totodile jumped into the air as his fist glowed and came down, punching the ball and cracking it as the bell gathered glowing cracks from the cold. Totodile began to glow as he grew bigger and became a Croconaw as with one final Push, he shattered the ball.

They took a breath as Ash rubbed his hands, Congrats my dude, you got your first evolution, and in less than a month, you really are an evolution expert like her,"
