Opening my eyes, I found myself in a brightly lit room where a lot of people where gather watching a Tv, in which it could be seen a pokemon battle and two numbers in the corners of the name of each trainer (Clara-45) and (Lucas-41), and while they prepare to fight a commentator was narrating the combat.
"On the left stood Lucas, a young but confident trainer, flashing a determined smile. Next to him, his loyal companion Pidgeotto hovered in the air, wings spread, ready for action. On the other side of the field, Carla, crossed her arms and fixed her gaze on her opponent. At her feet, her Persian moved with elegant grace, every step smooth and deliberate. The feline's sharp eyes gleamed with the same intensity as its trainer's.
"You're going down today, Lucas!" Carla shouted, her voice filled with challenge. "Persian, let's show them what we're made of!"
Lucas, calm but equally determined, shot back. "We'll see about that, Carla! Pidgeotto, let's fly high!"
The referee lowered the flag. The battle begins!
"Pidgeotto, start with Quick Attack!" Lucas commanded.
With a sharp cry, Pidgeotto shot forward, speeding through the air in a blur, leaving a trail of wind as it zipped toward Persian. The bird moved with incredible speed, ready to strike.
"Persian, dodge and use Bite!" Carla responded quickly, fully trusting her Pokémon's reflexes.
With feline agility, Persian leaped to the side at the last second, avoiding the hit. Before Pidgeotto could recover, Persian lunged, its fangs gleaming as it sank them into the bird's feathers with a fierce Bite. Pidgeotto screeched in pain, flapping its wings wildly to break free.
"Come on, Pidgeotto! Get out of there and use Gust!" Lucas urged, his voice filled with encouragement.
Pidgeotto managed to wrench itself free and, with a powerful flap of its wings, whipped up a small but fierce Gust of wind that swirled around Persian. The feline was forced back, struggling to hold its ground as the wind raged around it. Carla watched closely, waiting for the right moment to strike back.
"Persian, use Feint and catch it off guard!" Carla called, her voice filled with confidence.
Persian, recovering from the gust, began moving with dazzling speed, zigzagging through the whirlwind and dust that swirled around the battlefield. Lucas narrowed his eyes, trying to track Persian's movement, but the feline vanished into the clouds of dust, a blur of motion.
"Pidgeotto, watch out!" Lucas warned, but it was too late.
In an instant, Persian appeared right in front of Pidgeotto, delivering a swift blow that sent the bird crashing to the ground. The impact left Pidgeotto stunned, and the crowd murmured in awe at the unpredictability of the move.
"Come on, Pidgeotto! Don't give up! Fly high and prepare for Aerial Ace!" Lucas shouted, his determination never wavering. Pidgeotto, though battered, flapped its wings with all its might and soared back into the sky. From above, it locked eyes on Persian, focusing intensely. Then, with a sudden dive, Pidgeotto tucked in its wings and hurtled downward at breakneck speed, the air whistling around it as it aimed for a direct hit.
"Persian, now! Use Shadow Claw!" Carla commanded, her arm raised high, fully trusting in her partner's power.
As Pidgeotto closed in, Persian summoned dark energy into its claws, which began to glow with a shadowy aura. Just as Pidgeotto was about to strike, Persian leaped into the air, slashing with its Shadow Claw. The clash was brutal. The dark energy enveloped Pidgeotto, stopping its attack in its tracks and sending it spiraling back to the ground with a thud.
"Pidgeotto!" Lucas cried, alarmed. Pidgeotto struggled to get up, its wings trembling from the damage. But after a moment, it collapsed, too exhausted to continue.
The referee raised his hand and declared the result. "Pidgeotto is unable to battle! The winner is Persian!"
After the fight I approach the counter were a nurse Joy was waiting while also watching the match.
"Excuse me, I'm new in this region and I would like to create a new profile to participate in this year's conference, also what is this tournament about?"
"Yes, no problem at all, all I need is your alliance card, and the tournament is a two year competition where trainers come to try their luck, is a rank based tournament the winner take the loser rank and viceverse"
After searching my pockets I give nurse Joy my alliance card, and no more than five minutes later she came back with badge case and my new trainer I.D.
"Thanks nurse Joy, also is it possible to still participate in the tournament?"
"Yes, this tournament has no fee entry and end in a week, during this week you can't leave the town that's the only rule, also Max how many pokemon have with you now?"
"Right now six, why is there any trouble?"
"Not trouble per se but your alliance card does't show where the rest of your pokemon are taken after your team is full, you know League regulations, but if you confirm that they are well taken care of and prove it this will naturally resolve"
"Yes no problem"
And so the rest of the afternoon was spent doing paperwork in the pokemon center, where I also choose my main team for now, and one thing that I did note is that I can see the level of the pokemon around me if I will it, for example the Persian and Pidgeotto from before they were level 30 and 29. But coming back to topic my main team doesn't have any overpower team because I also had to pose as a foreign trainer, right now I'm in the Unova region but I have pose as a Kanto trainer so my team consist on:
Persian-Lv 43 / Butterfree-Lv 32 / Pidgeot-Lv 50 / Arbok-Lv 47 / Starmie-Lv 40 / Marowak-Lv 38
I also learn that the first prize of the tournament gains a surprise prize all the more reason to win it, so let's begin searching for my first fight in this new world.
