--------------------------------------------------------------------

Hu Yang found himself in a delicate situation as Axew, his tiny Pokémon, was trembling with fear and dripping water on the ground after an unintentional dip in the hot spring. Frowning with concern, Hu Yang promptly left the hot spring to fetch a bath towel and comfort his distressed Axew.

Expressing genuine remorse, Hu Yang cradled Axew in his arms, apologizing for not being aware of its fear of water. In response, Axew softly replied, clutching the bath towel with its small paws.

Roselia, always attentive to the needs of the team, approached with a worried expression, asking if her assistance was required. Despite the language barrier, Hu Yang instantly understood Roselia's concern.

Initially contemplating shaking his head and letting Roselia continue to enjoy the hot springs, Hu Yang realized the importance of fostering positive relationships among his Pokémon. Drawing parallels with raising children, he recognized that differing personalities among Pokémon could impact the overall team dynamic.

Taking responsibility for maintaining harmony within the team, Hu Yang made a decision. "Then help Axew bring a box of Moo Milk over here," he instructed Roselia. During their stay at the hot spring hotel, he had stocked up on various snacks, including Moo Milk and Lava Cookies.

As Roselia turned away to fetch the Moo Milk, Hu Yang reflected on the changes in her personality since evolving from Budew to Roselia. He noted her new penchant for cleanliness and beautiful things, portraying an elder sister persona who cared for the well-being of others.

With a determined "Raleigh!" from Roselia, she embarked on her mission to bring Moo Milk for Axew. In this unexpected twist, Hu Yang found himself navigating the complexities of Pokémon relationships, learning valuable lessons akin to raising a diverse and dynamic family.

Hu Yang, observing Axew's fear of water, comforted it with gentle pats and reassurances, mimicking the nurturing actions of a mother soothing her baby. The small Pokémon, after consuming a carton of Moo Milk, began to recover, but its embarrassment was evident as it broke off the towel.

The situation prompted Gengar, who had witnessed the entire process, to inquire about Hu Yang's intentions regarding Axew. Floating beside him, Gengar, whose form remained concealed from other Pokémon, questioned whether Hu Yang intended to release Axew due to its fear of water.

The conversation took a poignant turn as Gengar shared a past experience from its time at the Pokémon school. It recounted encountering a trainer who, deeming a Pokémon too weak, discarded it in a forest and falsely claimed that it was waiting for the trainer there.

Hu Yang, recognizing the similarity to the Charmander incident from the anime, pondered the frequency of such occurrences in this world. Reflecting on his own gaming experiences, he acknowledged releasing captured Pokémon with unfavorable traits. However, the current situation was a stark departure from the gaming realm, presenting the stark reality of Pokémon training.

Contemplating the character Shinji from the anime, Hu Yang contrasted his combat-centric approach with the more compassionate philosophy embodied by Ash. Shinji's disdain for weak Pokémon, his penchant for releasing those that didn't meet expectations, and his belief that forming close bonds with Pokémon would make them lazy highlighted a divergent perspective.

Hu Yang, influenced by the love for the Pokémon world depicted in the anime, expressed his preference for being a trainer like Ash, one who values the emotional richness of Pokémon over treating them merely as tools for battle. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a bond with Pokémon to enable mega-evolution, underlining the significance of establishing intimate relationships.

Gengar, silently awaiting Hu Yang's response, experienced a sense of relief. The bond between a trainer and their Pokémon held profound significance, and Hu Yang's commitment to not abandoning any of his companions resonated with the ideals of genuine Pokémon trainers.

...

The following day dawned, and as the early morning light bathed the room, Hu Yang awoke to find Cramorant absent.

Since the incident with the Ho-Oh feather, Hu Yang had conscientiously kept Cramorant confined within the Master Ball to avoid causing any unwarranted commotion. However, it seemed that in the midst of last night's soak in the hot spring, he had forgotten to retrieve it.

"Where's Cramorant?" Hu Yang inquired.

Gengar nonchalantly pointed outside, remarking, "Flew out."

Hu Yang sighed. He had noticed that Cramorant seemed attuned to his thoughts, though the reliability of this peculiar connection varied. Despite contemplating for days, urging Cramorant not to venture out, the avian Pokémon still exercised its autonomy.

Hu Yang, however, wasn't overly concerned about Cramorant's safety, unless it somehow provoked powerful Electric-type Divine Beasts. Its Flying + Water attributes left it four times weak to electricity. Nonetheless, the prospect of it getting lost hardly fazed Hu Yang. There appeared to be an unspoken radar system between them; regardless of location, Cramorant unfailingly returned to him.

"What's on your agenda for today?" Gengar queried indifferently, reverting to its usual state, floating lazily with arms crossed.

Roselia, too, glanced over, silently posing the question: "Training together?"

Hu Yang pondered this while reflecting on the apparent diligence of his Pokémon. Despite their silent nature, it often felt like they worked harder than him.

"No, I'll take a brief hiatus and commence training in the spring," Hu Yang decided, shifting his focus to Axew.

Following the events of the previous night, Axew's bond with him had deepened. Hu Yang resolved to aid Axew in overcoming its fear of water.

He squatted down, lifting Axew gently, and reassured, "Don't be afraid; I'll always be with you."

Axew calmed down somewhat, prompting Hu Yang to ask, "Can you trust me?"

"Raleigh!" Roselia leaped out, offering enthusiastic support.

With the encouragement of its companions, Axew hesitantly decided to face its fears.

In that moment, Cramorant returned from its escapade, carrying a frantic Struggle Pikachu in its beak.

Hu Yang gazed up at the scene, sighing internally. As a Cramorant trainer, he acknowledged the dual responsibility of enjoying its benefits and bearing the consequences. Three minutes later, faced with an irate Pikachu and the woman who found them, Hu Yang offered a reluctant apology.

"Sorry, sorry," he apologized.

The woman, seemingly understanding of young travelers, reassured, "It's okay. Everyone's fine; it was just a misunderstanding."

After she departed, Hu Yang confronted Cramorant.

"Gah?" Cramorant questioned.

Hu Yang sighed once again. Another eventful day had unfolded in the life of a Pokémon trainer.
