In the bustling world of Pokémon, where every day brings new adventures and surprises, it was now December 24th, and Christmas Eve was just around the corner. At the local school, the spirit of the holiday season was in full swing. Decorations, like snowmen sporting Christmas hats, ribbons, and dazzling lights, transformed the once ordinary classrooms into festive wonderlands.

Hu Yang, our intrepid Pokémon Trainer, returned from his training session at the nearby river, only to find that the school had undergone a magical metamorphosis. The campus was now adorned with the joy of the season, complete with a jolly snowman, a majestic Christmas tree, and even teachers and students who seemed to radiate the warmth of the holidays.

As the school day came to a close, students scurried away to embark on their Christmas vacations, leaving behind an air of excitement. But there were a few exceptions to this mass exodus. Among those who chose to stay were Rika and Nishida, bundled up in their winter attire and carrying a bundle of festive decorations.

When asked if the school was ready for Christmas, Nishida replied, "Almost, but we still need to decorate the staff dormitory."

Hu Yang was surprised and inquired, "You're not going home for Christmas?"

Unlike him, many of the school's teachers had families and homes in Petalburg City.

Nishida lamented, "I wish I could, but I couldn't get tickets for the SS ticket to Slateport City."

Rika chimed in with a smile, "I'm in the same boat."

Hu Yang chuckled at their shared misfortune. Clearly, they weren't the only ones facing this issue.

Rika revealed the decorations she was carrying – streamers and Christmas hats. She suggested, "It's perfect timing! Why don't we all decorate the dormitory together?"

Hu Yang readily agreed, and the trio of friends spent the evening creating a cozy Christmas atmosphere in the dormitory. By the time they had finished, the clock had struck eight in the evening.

Hu Yang bid farewell to his friends, and as he returned to his own home, he was greeted by the charming aura of Christmas. His room was adorned with holiday decorations. He decided to use a few of the Christmas hats Rika had left behind to bring some cheer to his Pokémon.

Each of his Pokémon received a Christmas hat, including Budew and Cramorant, but Gengar's longing eyes couldn't be ignored. Although he playfully scolded Gengar, he eventually hung the Santa hat on the wall, prompting Gengar to gaze longingly at it.

As the festivities continued, Hu Yang asked Gengar, "Do you want to keep this hat too?" Lately, he had been preparing little presents for Gengar, even though he didn't quite understand the reason behind it. Yet, he noticed that Gengar cherished every gift he received, so he stored them in a little cardboard box. Even though he couldn't fathom the meaning behind Gengar's actions, he was more than willing to oblige.

Gengar nodded eagerly, supervising the placement of the Christmas hat in the cardboard box, content with this newfound treasure.

With his Pokémon satisfied, Hu Yang set to work in the kitchen. The festive atmosphere had infected him, and he had purchased a variety of ingredients to create a grand Christmas dinner. The grand finale was a delightful strawberry cake with rich chocolate frosting.

As he served the last piece of cake, a burst of fireworks illuminated the night sky outside, signaling the joyful celebration taking place in Petalburg City.

Hu Yang offered a piece of cake to Budew and said softly with a warm smile, "Merry Christmas. Please take care of me in the future."

This was his first Christmas in this new world, and although he was far from his original home, he didn't feel alone. Budew was thrilled with the kind words and the delicious treat.

Even Cramorant, who usually wore a stoic expression, seemed to radiate happiness with an enthusiastic growl at the sight of the scrumptious meal.

But it was Budew who truly basked in the festive cheer. This winter was unlike any other in its life. It had grown fond of Hu Yang, and at that moment, a desire welled up within Budew's heart – a desire to be by Hu Yang's side forever.

As this heartfelt wish took root, a brilliant white light enveloped Budew. Both Gengar and Hu Yang's eyes were drawn to the spectacle.

This luminous display was none other than evolution!

The emotions surging within Hu Yang were beyond words. Witnessing a Pokémon he had raised evolve was an experience like no other. The moment was filled with surprise, excitement, joy, and eager anticipation.

Within the radiance of this evolution, Budew underwent a remarkable transformation. Its body shifted from a small, grassy bud into a humanoid figure that resembled a forest fairy. Two vibrant roses, one red and one blue, bloomed from its slender wrists.

As the light slowly faded away, a brand-new Pokémon stood before Hu Yang. "Raleigh!" Roselia exclaimed with a joyful growl.

"Thank you," Hu Yang whispered, extending his hand to softly touch Roselia's cheek.

"Raleley!" Roselia responded, her joy evident.

As the heartwarming Christmas Eve came to an end, Hu Yang lay in bed, reminiscing about his journey in this new world. The evolution of Budew was a milestone, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their adventures.

With Roselia's evolution, a new set of moves was added to her repertoire. Hu Yang couldn't wait to test the power of these new moves in upcoming battles. But just as he was getting lost in these thoughts, a sudden noise from the kitchen interrupted his reverie.

Hu Yang's curiosity piqued, and he listened carefully to the mysterious sounds from outside the bedroom. Could it be another one of the peculiar occurrences he had witnessed in this world? However, the noise soon dissipated, and the room returned to silence.

Thinking it might have been nothing more than a mouse or another minor disturbance, Hu Yang was ready to close his eyes and drift into slumber. But then, a rustling sound once again emanated from the darkness.

And, to his astonishment, the doorknob turned, and the bedroom door slowly creaked open with a soft "ka-cha" sound.

Alarmed, Hu Yang switched on the bedroom light, revealing a Surskit clutching a present as it snuck into the room through the partially open door.

Hu Yang, along with his Pokémon, focused their attention on the unexpected visitor. He recognized the Pokémon as one of Principal Kiriyama's companions.

Terrified by the sudden burst of light, Surskit lost its grip on the present, which tumbled to the floor.

Hu Yang took a step towards the window, where he could see Principal Kiriyama, decked out in a Santa Claus costume.

It all made sense now. Principal Kiriyama had prepared a Christmas surprise for those who couldn't make it home for the holidays. Christmas had truly arrived in this new world, and with each passing day, Hu Yang felt more at home and embraced the life he was building there.
