Gary

This familiar boy came forward to cover him, he was Gary.

"If you guys are looking for the boy with Dartini, he is still inside." Vidal said looking at the crowd.

This immediately causes the attention away from him, easily walked out of the place.

"So Gary, you are very kind to fight for me."

"Ha… ha… How come I can let my brother be bullied?" Gary said proudly.

"Brother if you want to go somewhere, I can take you in my car." Gary pointed at his car with cheerleaders on them.

"Oh I am fine. I am just heading to the Fuchsia gym."

"I am also heading there to get my next badge, we can go together."

After thinking, Vidal agreed to him.

The ride wasn't as cheerful as he had thought, it was headache to hear Gary's name in the whole journey. They cheer girls were really devoted to Gary.

"Brother, you should go first."

Vidal was the first to battle, Gym leader Koga was a poison type Pokemon trainer; he proposed to use two Pokemon for the battle.

"Let's go Venomoth."

Vidal sent the weakest from his Pokemon, Gengar. After evolving Growlithe, Gengar has fallen to the last place. And Dragonair hasn't been tested for strength yet.

But Gengar being a Poison sub-type, this battle would be favorable to use Gengar for him.

"Gengar, let's go."

"Venomoth. Use stun spore."

The whole arena filled with stone spore, but it wasn't enough to stun the Gengar with only this.

"Venomothh. Use sleep powder."

This can cause some problem, "Gengar use shadow ball."

The shadow ball helps to dissipate the sleep Powder, "Let's go with the shadow punch."

Gengar flew towards Venomoth and used the shadow punch but was dodged.

"Venomoth. Use sludge bomb."

"Dodge it. Gengar follow up with shadow claw."

Again Gengar attack was dodged.

"Venomoth, use toxic."

Another attack connected to Gengar.

Vidal nodded, the preparation was complete.

"Gengar, it's payback time." After getting two hits, the payback boosted his attack power in his next attack.

It was too late for Venomoth to dodge.

The first match went to Vidal.

This time the match was like a normal match; it wasn't flashy, it wasn't one hit and a hard fought.

The second Pokemon turns out to be Crobat.

Vidal smiled.

"Gengar use mean look."

A creepy face hit the mentality of Crobat.

"Now use confuse ray."

Crobat was hit with the ray and dropped to the ground confused.

"Don't stop. Use ultimate move lick."

The whole body of Crobat was licked, completely paralyzing it.

The match ended after series of outrageous moves.

After getting the soul badge, he wanted to leave the place immediately, but Gary insisted on to wait to see his match.

Gary overwhelmed Koga, and coming towards Vidal, "Brother, let's battle. Please teach me like you used to do."

Vidal simply would have rejected him, but remembered something.

Both his brother Ash and Gary wanted to defeat him for the same reason, something that has happened some years ago.

When you are child, challenges on simple things are common. And challenges among brother are more common.

Being a big brother, Vidal accepted their challenges on whim. After sometime, both Ash and Gary became persistent on beating him, no matter the cost.

Vidal doesn't want to become a dark shadow on their childhood but the deed has already been done. And what were the challenges about; it is better to not talk about.

A huge smiled appeared on Vidal's face, "How can I reject my little brother?"

Gary felt a chill on his body to hear the signature line of Vidal when they used to challenge him.

"Koga, can we battle here?"

"Why not?"

"So Gary, how are we going to set the rules?"

"We will do the same like before with two Pokemon battles."

Vidal nodded, now the question was what should he sent.

Gengar was taking rest, Alakazam and Starmie will be overkill then only one was left.

"Arcanine, come out."

"Gary, choose your Pokemon."

"Then, I will choose Wartortle."

A good Pokemon with type advantage against him, but Arcanine has started to love water nowadays. The reason was Starmie.

"Battle begins." Koga announced.

"Wartotle, use water gun."

"Arcanine, dodge it."

The water gun hit the ground; Vidal doesn't want to finish the fight instantly.

"Wartotle, use skull bash. Let's go."

"Arcanine, wait for it." "Now, kick it."

One of the hind fangs of the Arcanine landed on the head of Wartortle throwing it back where it came from.

"Brother your Pokemon is strong." Gary was surprised.

From the sidelines Koga saw the surprised face of Gary. He just wanted to cry out loud, 'Kid he is just toying with you.' His Ninja intuitions were telling him, there was a huge gap between the wartortle and Arcanine.

The battle continues, Vidal continued to dodge and tried to attack sometimes. Finally Wartortle ran out of the juice.

Gary still didn't find any abnormalities in the match; he just felt Arcanine is little bit stronger than his Wartortle.

"Nidoking, you are up next."

Nidoking was also running around releasing Poison jabs, horn attacks and kicks. Still Arcanine was running happily around the place.

These are the only battles where it can defeat other Pokemons, and once training starts again he had to work hard just to get a simple praise from Starmie.

The only Pokemon who can understand him was brother Alakazam.

But the food and massage from Vidal always relieved him.

The battle ended again when Nidoking fell down losing all the energy.

Gary mind was in mess, did I lose because his Pokemons were weak or because they lack energy?

"Gary, you will catch up to me in no time. So don't worry about it."

Gary could only nod and Koga can only shook his head.

After comforting Gary, they finally part their ways.

Gary left to Cinnabar Island for gym battle and Vidal returned to Safari zone; the batch of Magikarp wasn't completed yet.

Safari zone,

Everyone one of his Pokemon was playing around.

Zapdos has already run away somewhere.

And Dragonair, she got a rather intriguing nature.

Dragonair was reprimanding Gengar when it tried to scare other Pokemon, Arcanine was getting earful for running around carelessly, Alakazam was getting lecture on eating good food to get good muscles.

And she was most satisfied with Starmie, who was now an example how everyone should act.

Arcanine looked at Vidal with Puppy eyes, and Gengar has already fallen sleep.

"Dragonair, give them some slack. They have been training quite a lot lately."

But Dragonair seems dis-satisfied with Vidal's comment.

"Ok. Ok. How about you train too?"

Now everyone looked at Dragonair.

Dragonair challenged everyone to battle instantly.

She got beaten badly by every one of them; which satisfied them. Everyone started doing their own business.

But Dragonair came and wrapped around Vidal with teary eyes.

"See. If you were strong, they would have listened to you."

Dragonair nodded and went towards Starmie.

Vidal was happy; Dragonair was also ready to train as well.

Zapdos, Starmie and Alakazam were banned to train, they cause too much destruction and this place inhabited by many Pokemons wasn't right place to train for them.

In the safari zone, he roamed around with all of his Pokemon.

The most important progress was; Zapdos was also sticking with his party more often.

Looking at the happy Pokemons, Vidal decided to stay in the safari zone for some more days.
